It's all going to depend on how much of the cap he's eating up over those 12 years. In the last 20 years, only twice has a team with a top 10 against the cap pay number had his team win the SB. Both of those were former SB MVPs with defense lead teams.

One need only look at how the Chiefs were brought together and their performance as a team accelerated by Mahomes over the past three years to see the value. Dak Prescott hasn't yet demonstrated this, but the situation with the Cowpokes is admittedly different.

Sometimes, it's all about luck. In 2018 season, if the Patriots were not in the way, there's no doubt the Chiefs would've gone to the Superbowl. The Titans was a godsend for the Chiefs.

Football isn't baseball, Mahomes will never see all that money. As a matter of fact, he would have made more money the next 5 year being tagged than he makes in this deal which means this deal is LOADED on the back end. I can't see a QB who will be beat up and in his mid 30's getting 40mil+ a year, NO WAY.
Mahomes and the Chiefs have scored at least 30 points in all of his first 5 playoff games. Brady and the Pats had 0 such games in his first 5
