Only thing I do differently is rather than cut the mdf jig with a skill saw, I screw straight edges around the edge of my pencil marks and then use those as a guide and use the router to cut the jig with the router too. Takes a little longer but means my jig is 100% straight. Drilling the sink brackets tests a man’s minerals 😂👍🏻
I would make the jig full width of the worktop, with a 2x1 lath at the front as a stop and straight edge. Keeping it parallel, I've just done a 22mm Howden joinery worktop u shaped kitchen, putting in the jointing bolts and cut outs for sink and hob, takes longer, nice router work ,cutting 4 or 5mm at a time saves your router bit.👍
Great work 👏 thanks for sharing 👍 Can link in description the tools that you are useing, where to buy please. The jig for drainage channels& router bit. Thanks ageing
Hi i am looking for someone to fit these worktops, every joiner has backed out when hearing compact laminate. Do you work around the runcorn area?? Please let me know 🙏🏻 thanks, R
Hi, these worktops are great, but not many traders fit them as they are high-risk. I am based in Leicester, and I don't go out of Leicestershire. I hope you find someone soon. Thank you.
Hi, if the screw is 20mm you should have the same plastic included in the kit for sink fixing. The plastic is flexible rather having to fix straight in the metal plate.
Another way of doing is to use adhesive that comes the same as silicone tube, but you have to support from beneath, solid wood 10 cm wide. On the front of the sink .

a little tip for you sir, whne you have got the sink in the perfect place, draw around it. then would you are working onfixing it, sealing it e.t.c its quicker to realign. Great video
Hi, first you cut worktop to the size you need for fitting then put worktop on top the cabinet as is gone be in finale position. Mark the worktop underneath were the side of cabinet are then turn worktop upside down use the same screw we use for the sink with L bracket, make sure the end of bracket is strait with marking.
@@PassionforCarpentry I have a Makita RP0 900, 900w, I make softer wood with it, I thought to try a compact but it is quite hard, so I asked, thanks for the answer, I appreciate it
Fantastic video. And at a really nice pace for me. You have given me so much confidence that I can do this now. Thank you so much

And use a work bench. Why would you cut on top of the appliance or cabinet can I use the word juvenile
Great video very well explained keep up the great work

For me personally if you do sink hole 10mm smaller would look better as sink edge would be invisible no?
With these worktops they just butted or can you router off 3mm or is 1mm on the female part like a normal square edge solid wood? Thanks
Hi, these worktops are squre. They just need to be bolted ( specific bolt) and use biscuits for flat surface .
Do you cover the Bradford/Leeds Area? I need this exact worktop fitting....
Do you round the top edge of the hole for the sink? Thanks for the great video! 👍🏻

Very hard and good job, that's why the kitchen fitters asks a lot off money ...🤣🤣🤣🤣
brackets are redundant if proper adhesive / silicone is used
Great video mate. You made this look very easy. Where are you based for fitting composite work tops?
Hi. I am Leicestershire. Thank you .

What kind of router bit did you use for cutting hole for the sink and draining
Hi, same one we use for worktop.
Neat trick with the jig you made.
Great videos, very high level of carpentry and joinery. sizin numaranizi alabilir miyim?
Do you use the same tool for compact boards as for wood, I mean milling cutters
Yes
Hi I am in the middle of fitting mine i was always wondering why the bolts to fix sink are 20mm what is that plastic spacer you are using

Hi. What are you using to cut the tap hole? Everything I've tried burns out before I get a few mm in

@@PassionforCarpentry Is it safe to process compact with 8mm bits on router, and what is minimum power router recommended to Use?
@Emir Dzafo NO, the router is a very good tool but danger as well.
Small size bit only for soft wood and other material.

What router bit do you use to get the smoothest cut?
I used Trend 1/2" shank double-flute 12.7mm.
I have used 30mm guide bush, this made it 9mm away from hand made Jig guide.
Thanks so much. After cutting the undermount hold do you also need to smooth it? Is there another bit for that?
Yes you have to do it with sand paper and there is an oil which comes with worktop set .
@@PassionforCarpentry is that standard trend TCT blades ?

can you come to folkestone and do mine
Sorry but I am over 4 hours drive away from there.
