What NEW Tokyo Tsukiji Fish Market is like AFTER Toyosu MOVE | Street Food Gone!?

- Опубликовано: 21 сен 2024
- Japanese Street Food Guide for new Tokyo Tsukiji Fish Market and new Toyosu Fish Market after moving. The Tokyo Street Food in the Jogai Tsukiji Market remains intact. All the Tsuji street food vendors are still there. We take a look inside the new Toyosu Market and show you what the fish market auction section is like. If you love Japanese street food, then this Tsukiji market is a Tokyo Street Food spot you should visit. After Tsukiji Jonai Fish Market closed down, now there are 2 Tokyo Fish Market areas, one area for Fish auctions and one for tourist and street food. We visit Toyosu Fish Market on the fist day of the fish market opening, October 13 2018. The Toyosu Fish Market tour is great but my favorite is still the Japanese street food in the Tsukiji Fish Market. For my Top 10 things to eat at Tsukiji Fish Market, please check out my Tsukiji Fish Market Guide below:

Which Fish Market do you LIKE Better and Why? And don't worry, the Outer Market will remain past 2020 olympics! Here's my TOP 10 recommended Tsukiji street food spots - ruclips.net/video/7hWUBCbUj5g/видео.html
We will be staying near by there when we go in April. I was really wondering how everything would hold up since the auction/market moved locations. do you think it will improve and continue great business in the shops?
The fish market in Japan looks amazing, I should go there and explore....cool! 🍲
Wait so is the Tsukiji street food market still in the same area? Where is it located?
@@Legitbeaast the market with the food stands is still there. But some stands closed up shop or moved. It was the actual auctioning place and warehouse that changed to a new safer location
@DisneyItGirl thank you so much! I’ll be traveling to Japan soon so I definitely want to try the street foods
I was actually in Tsukiji a while ago and was looking for the Uni Bun. Thanks to them having a picture of you, I was able to identify it quickly lol
Haha no way they got his Pic up?
Alden Jacob would you know if paolo’s top 10 must eat in tsukiji market still open?
Alden Jacob All his recommendations should have a sign of “As seen on Paolo from Tokyo’s top 10”
The tuna skewer looks so damn good 😍
Thanks for showing us that the outer market is still alive and kicking. We've used so many of your videos to plan our visit in March! We can't wait!
It’s so sad part of the market is gone. The entire ‘old’ market was a small part of what made a visit to japan unique. I’m glad I got to experience the entire Tsukiji market before any of the changes this past summer.
My boyfriend and I actually took a trip to Japan a month ago, mainly to see Tsukiji's inner fish market before it moved to Toyosu. It's really too bad that they moved it to such a different kind of facility that's much more commercialized, but I understand that it's supposed to be a lot more efficient and better for the environment (and probably more respectful to the fishermen). I'm thankful that they didn't close down too many street vendors in Tsukiji, so I'll probably plan to visit both markets next time :)
Also, we had no clue that tuna skewer vendor was so new! My boyfriend found it and we loved how meaty it tasted. Since I didn't have the cash to get the uni bread this time around, I'll probably put it on my list for next time, since you gave it so much praise.
The new market is more sterile, which is good for wholesale trading markets dealing with food. While it was great for tourists previously, the new one is likely better to conduct business. Do they have a more high-tech equipment for the bidding system now? Would be good to know if the sushi chefs who use the market are liking the new place.
Paolo is like a genie. He can pop in and out! 😆
Luckily, the street foods are there .... can't wait visit Tokyo again next year
Im really happy I was able to eat and visit Tsukiji fish market prior to the move and eat at sushi dia, but I see how this helps with all the visitation, I hope to visit again soon so experience the new location.
I’m glad all of your favorite shops are still there, but I’m sad that I never got to go to the original Tsukiji 😔
Hi Paolo, Mitch here(short for Michiko) . My daughter and I will go to Japan this August!! And we're so excited about it. Love your vids especially with Maiko, she's so cute. Hope you're around Tokyo and meet you somehow. We're also going to Osaka and Kyoto. So hope to see you!!!
Wow, this was really cool to see. Great to see you're on top of things with the opening, Paolo. I need to see it for myself.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to visit the original Tsukiji but definitely I'll hit up the new one next time I'm in Tokyo.
All the street food looked amazing! The grilled tuna looks like a must-do.
If they did something with the rooftop garden, that would be awesome. It has tonnes of potential.
Aight, i’m calling it now, Paolo would be my go to guy if i need to know something entirely new in Tokyo.
On a side note, i’m kinda sad the inner market is closed , as i love to hunt some tuna from the vendors inside (they sometimes offer greater deal than the outer market), but damn glad outer market is still bustling!
1 more thing, Cool editing on this episode Paolo!
Thanks pokcay! I agree, being able to check out the inner market was unreal and will be missed.
That grilled tuna shop was my favorite when i visted last year! He didnt have a his own stand/shop yet before the move.He was just at the side of the road with a grill. It was so good i came back 3x
It was only salt and pepper then torched. Sooo gooooood it was 500yen/stick
Hey Paolo! I wanted to thank you for your videos. They helped me plan my vacation. I had so much fun in Japan. Keep up the good job!
Great! I’m in Japan now and was looking all over for this information. You’re the only person who has this info up. Thank you so much.
I'm so glad i got to visit the real Tsukiji one last time before it moved. This Toyosu looks boring af. I loved when the security guards were angry at us for walking around the inner marker too early, or when some of the fish salesman were angry with me for taking photos and videos. Good Times.
OMG! あの一番古い吉野家がなくなったんですね。知らなかった~!
ナイスvideo!
Great insight on the move! Such a difference and reaction to the growing crowds distracting workers back in Tsukiji. It's a bit sad you won't be able to be in the thick of it anymore, it really was a great feeling to be right there seeing their techniques and movements of the workers. It also totally makes sense there is now only a viewing platform above the action to seperate the workers from the visitors who are there just to take snaps. It was a smart move, but a sad one.
Thanks so much for keeping us up to date! So happy that the outer market is still there! So excited to try out all your recommendations this November 😊
Wow! The Uni Bun is still there! Thanks Paolo, I was among those who requested that this be visited after the move. Thanks man!
That uni bun looks so good!
I’m glad I was able to see Tsukiji’s Fish Market in April before they moved! It looks really different. Definitely a different feel. Love the video!
thank you for taking the time to show after the jonai market has move. Will be in Tokyo by end of Nov, and really want to try all the food they still offer in jogai. Thank you!
I just go to Tokyo last month, and I'm very glad that tsukiji street food still there. Yeahhhhh!!!!
Have an awesome trip ธารทิพย์ เอ่งฉ้วน!
Damn Miss Japan already. Great video as always Paolo :)
Thanks Philipp Maqs!
Same we were there for 3 months earlier this year, you might like our videos as we filmed everything 😁
YESSSS thank you so much for the fast update!! I actually live in Tokyo and I haven't had the chance to check out what it is like now in Tsukiji, this was what I worried about the most regarding the Tsukiji relocation hahaha... the street food!!!
This is super helpful. Thanks.
I never cared for the fish auction, always went for the food so happy most of the restaurants stayed! I also think it looks unauthentic moving to a new building but I’ll have to see it when I visit again
still, old times will never ever die.... i will miss that century old yoshina and the past fish market place:(
Japan looks so awesome I can’t wait to visit there one day in the future and I love your videos.
FitAngie Definitely do so when you can. If you're from the United States, it's really not expensive to get there. I got a round trip for 700 from NYC.
im just impressed how he has the patience to set up a tripod, set framing, everything for just a 1 second shot. well basically almost the whole video
Yeah, new market just doesn't feel like the old one. Thanks the update though 👍
Wow! My boyfriend and I took a trip to Japan very recently (got back Oct 6th), so I guess we JUST made it to the market before it moved. Although we were not allowed inside, at least we got a glimpse before it closed for good. Glad to see the street food stands are still open. Had some of our best seafood experiences there.
Thanks for all the videos! Really made my fiance's and my experience in Tokyo so much more efficient, we went to Akihabara yesterday it was so much fun!! Keep up the good work Paolo! Next we go to Coron to visit her family, take care and God bless you!
Thanks for making this video! I miss Tsukiji market so much and I’ve been to few places that you recommended on the previous Tsukiji video, it’s really great! I will definitely go and check out again! 😊😊
Going to Tokyo in few days and really glad that the charcoal uni bun is still there. Cause it is a must try for me! Thanks for the update!
Its so good to see things are up and running in Toyosu!! Tsukiji was such a fundamental part of Tokyo, it will definitely be missed. But with its move, a new location in Tokyo has been unlocked 😁! Great video man, inspiring as always.
I've just started to watch your videos yesterday, I've seen pretty much half of your videos in a single day hahaha. It's good to see someone always with a smile, enjoying one of the most beautiful countries, keep on that way Paolo, you have a new subscriber here, cheers from argentina!
Thanks Gonzalo Compagnoni! I appreciate the kind words. Glad to hear that my smile is reaching all the way to Argentina!
Good Mark Weiss impression. Even got the classic "oh wow" after the bite hahaa
Not sure if he's trying to be like Mark Weins tbh...
Such a coincidence that I stumbled on your video and channel. Me and my partner were wondering what the area is like with the auction being relocated. We had originally included a visit to the Tsukiji market on our intinary for our first time visit but only found out yesterday that it has already been relocated (the curse of having an old travel book haha).
Thank you for your clear and extensive video. Glad to hear that the street food vendors are still there. :-) Subscribed to check out your other videos.
The only memory I have of Tsukiji fish market was when my grandma treated my family and me to our first bowl of ramen. I don't remember seeing the fish or any of the vendors but standing there in the cold and eating a hot bowl of charsu ramen sticks out the most.
What's up Paolo. I meet you the day you filmed this video. Sadly it was my last day in Tokyo. Hopefully we get to visit again soon. Thanks again for all the advice and videos. Peace from Cali.
Dude... The UNI BUN!! I made sure to look for it after watching your first video. Incredible.
I've said it before... I love your enthusiasm! I can't wait to get to Japan.
Thanks Morlock!
Paolo, wait another 80 years and Toyosu will be part of history.
Can we get an updated video on this to see if there's any new shops? Love your videos Paolo!
5:16 "When your rooftop is all grass"
Awesome video! Was super curious how the market is now since we'll be there in two weeks!
Enjoy your trip to Japan!
2019年には見学通路が1Fに移るらしいよ。
it will change the aisle for visitor to down stair in 2019. so you can hear the sound of auction.
You said you're sad, but your face is so smiley..... :p
That tuna is reaaaaallllyyyy delicious ... yummy
Good job Paolo. Keep up the amazing work dude
Oh man! Thanks for the update! Glad to have experienced Tsukiji before the move. Would still love to visit the outter market next time! Love the street food! Toyosu seems like it'll be packed with tourist, as with many places in Japan. haha.
Change is always hard. Give 80 or 90 years and I’m sure it will feel old like Tsukiji.
Great video! Went to Toyosu in December 2018 and really didn't like it. It felt too sterile and no real charm. You feel really detached from the experience. The rooftop was pretty neat as you could see the new Olympic stadium and the Tokyo skyline. But that's about it. Maybe we'll giver it a try again but we still love Tsukiji and cannot wait to go back again in April! Keep your awesome videos coming!
Been there just because of you and the uni bun was delicious !!!
I'm glad you posted this. Was kinda bummed when I found out it had closed right before us getting there because that was on my top 5 must do
Awesome 👍🏻. They are all still there. Great video 👍🏻😊
You should do a collab with John from Only in Japan!
Totally agree with you Ian! I watched the video about the new Toyosu market area( of "Only in Japan")yesterday! John is great! A collaboration will be fantastic! Greetings from Italy. Ps I Apologize for my english
Yeah that's a great idea..
We were wondering what are the shops that are still there and hoping that someone would show us... AND YOU DID! Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing, I am going to miss the traditional outside fish market.
Thanks for the video, i'm looking for this information
Awesome! Glad you found the info useful Prasetyo Muhammad!
@@PaolofromTOKYO i love to watch your other video about japan, make me easier to make my itinerary, especially about the food store
So glad I got chance to visit before the move.....
Clique53 same here!
Awesome ... wich camera you use ??? sound and image cool and clear .
Hi paolo... planning to visit tsukiji market (the old one) in April 2020. Is it still nice to go there? Still a lot of food to eat?
Hi Paolo, i did saw u at Tsukiji Market but was too shy too even call u out for a photo... btw i miss Japan already!! Keep up the good video!
Paolo just to throw ideas out there. Top 10 Street food locations in Tokyo and maybe a Top 10 unique tourist guide. Love the new videos! Still will be going to Tsukiji Market for the street food next month. I'll still scope out the new location but kinda sad it's only just restaurants. Again great video!!!
Great video! Can you come here on sundays?
Awww we were at the old Tsukiji on October 5th! Miss it already
Thanks for the overview of Toyosu, I'll be in Japan for the first time on Monday!
Nice video!! Please do 10things to do in toyosu. Also....10 favorite beer in japan😉😉😉
For my japan trip next year my class is suppose to be going to fish market I'm gonna try all the food you recommend!
Whoa, I feel like I recognize that grassy roof from a Pokemon game!?
Paolo, I so agree with your assessment of the new Toyosu Market vs the Tsukiji Market.
Yes, Toyosu is clean & probably safer but, it's sterile, soul-less, joyless. I think that the powers that be made a big mistake closing down what people loved, adored & flocked to by the millions.
One more thing Paolo, you are, A-1 amazing! I love your joy, your, bright side of the morning energy and of course, your awesome videos.
Keep up the great work.
Nice one Paolo, we had the seared tuna from that stall 2 weeks ago and loved it, great memories for our Aussie family
Thanks for the information! 🙏 I’m so glad the outer market is still there. I will return just for the street food especially the uni bun itself 😋
Good video. Thanks for the coverage on both markets.
This video makes me want to go back to Japan 😢😜
Casio Squad lol same, I got back on the 11th. Flight was at night so my last stop was tsukiji. Didn't know at the time that it was the last morning for their auction at that spot. Ate a lot though!
Finally met your tuna guy!!! Thanks for the tip!
Hey I went to that tuna skewer shop and it was amazing! He was really nice as well, he gave me a free skewer as well!
So why would you visit the new place? I thought the appeal was the food which is still at tsukiji? Apart from seeing the auctions from a nice new platform...why go to the new place?
Ah man, its a shame we didnt meet. I was just there in Jogai on Sunday. Went to the new Toyosu Fish Market the same day but it was closed. Too bad I never got to see the Tsukiji Market. First time here in Japan.
thank god i have been there twice before it move to a new location. on the side note im looking forward to visit Toyosu on my next visit soon !
Going in December so sad to see the inner market go, but glad that most of the outer market is still there. Was really looking forward to a ramen store there actually so hope its still there. Would love to see a Toyosu Street food video so hope you can cover that. Great vid as always Paolo :D
Omg you have no idea how relieved I am to hear that the tamagoyaki and uni bun stalls are still there, bc they’re on my bucketlist HAHA
Love all your videos. Very helpful as we are trying to navigate Tokyo.
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!
Hi Paolo! I enjoy watching your videos and really thankful for your food recommendations. I especially liked the beef katsu in ichi ni san. Keep up the great work. :)
Paolo is the best RUclipsr ever!!!😘😘🎌🎌🇯🇵
I' m agree with you Paolo. Probably for buyers and sellers ,the new Toyosu market is better ,because is cleaner and safer than Tsukiji... but now ,i,we can only see the sellers, from the 2nd floor....but we can't hear them!!! That's not "romantic" !! Anw greetings from Italy. Ps A collaboration with John(Only in Japan) will be great!! Ciao!
Been following your channel for a while, love your videos. I dont about the glass window, but now you can take kids and not have an issue with them slipping or something. Also, the rooftop! That's like a new spot to see the city view, do you know if you can bring food on the rooftop?
I always enjoy your vlog Kuya! Sana one day ma visit ko rin ang Japan 🙏🏻
Thanks nivra 18!
Can you actually still observe the market up front instead of watching it only from 2nd floor behind a glass window? That was one of the coolest experience, those people speaking a language that was definitely not Japanese. I'm also kind of sad places like Sushi Dai no longer has that rustic feel to it, those shops were where ate some of the best sushi and kaisen-don.
are your top 10 to eat in the old tsukiji market still there? they are still open?
Ermergerd I was there on the 11th in the morning. Why couldn't you film then, I could have seen you!!!!! It was my last day in Japan and I managed to eat sushi and wagyu beef same day at the market!
i guess we all have to do a tsukiji/toyosu day trip then...hehe....eat eat eat eat!
Great video! Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks M A!
Me and my girlfriend are going to Tokyo in 8 days, so excited!
