After years of very low grade tinnitus is one ear, a bad medication reaction six months ago exploded and expanded my tinnitus to air raid sirens in both ears; yours and Julian’s channels have helped me hold onto my sanity and begin to control the effect on my mood and behaviour. Thank you.
I’m in kind of a similar boat I imagine, but ofc we all have unique experiences. This guy is the man. I started taking baths now where I intentionally just try to hear the tinnitus while in a relaxed state. It’s really helped me to focus on other things despite hearing the T over most of it. I think this facing the tinnitus full on and calmly from time to time, is very wise advice. Wishing peace for you out there.
@@AP-op4rcfacing the fear head on is key. Its the only way to actually remove the fear. If you try to avoid, then you are only going to reinforce that fear in your subconscious mind. I remember the best feeling was when I would deliberately face and listen to my tinnitus. It would start with fear and anxiety but after a while i was in a calm state. You just need to keep repeating that and it will reinforce in your subconscious mind and eventually you will reach a good level of habituation.
So well put that's exactly what I've been doing in the middle of the night works every time no Panic focus on it and in minutes you're off to Dreamland in spite of the noise . Thanks again for your great videos
Fear turrns on the fight or flight response, and the cycle of fear and anxiety will rule your life. I made my tinnitus my friend, gave to it the name of one of my best friends, and everytime i mention it i try to put aside negative feelings. This way, you will turn off the fight or flight response, and you will reach reaction habituation, at least in some degree. With time, perception habituation will also kicks in. My tinnitus is loud, i hear it over shower, over traffic, and so on. I wonder if your spikes aren't related to your work... I know music is a lot to you, and extremely important in your life, but, in my case, loud sounds definitely spike my friend. TC and wish you the best.
@@RickStormhey how you got T I got it from headphones Bro it’s severe and I’m into 8 months now with multiple tones too nowadays whistle like tone is coming
@@Ssharma67 i had tinnitus due to hearing loss from otosclerosis. I had low level tinnitus for 8 years (1 of 10), and then, i change my hearing aids and the new set were to loud, and my tinnitus spiked a lot (to a 10 of 10). That happend 1 year and 9 months ago. I'm getting better with time. Never take meds, they don't help, and could spike your tinnitus even more. Try to cope naturally, with time it gets better. Stop using headphones, and stay the more you can in silence, listening to your tinnitus. Use ambient sounds for sleep. You can take magnesium glicinate 200 mgs before sleep, and also melatonin, nothing more. Good luck my friend, with time it gets better.
@RickStorm hi rick what do u mean that your new hearing aids were too loud? Don't they just give you the deficit from your hearing loss? The reason I ask is because it seems I am having a similar issue....my hearing aid seems to spike my T too.
Being at home or anywhere a little silent is already difficult, I still have decades to live if everything goes well, I'm lucky if some science manages to discover something. I live one day at a time, but it is very difficult. Strength to you.
Jack, I need some advice. I feel that your pretty experienced with tinnitus and your experience with it is very similar to mine. Anyway my tinnitus is quite bad these days. I would put it in severe category. To make things worse, my left ear has now been totally blocked by wax and I can't hear a thing out of it. I'm totally miserable right now with only one hearing ear. I've been prescribed drops but I doubt it will budge the wax plug. The method of removal that is mostly offered and recommended is microsuction. Irrigation is another method. I'm scared of both of these methods because of my tinnitus! But at the same time I'm desperate to hear out of the affected ear again! How do you advise that I proceed? Should I suck it up and get the microsuction? Apparently its very loud and it's Right next to your eardrum. Seems so risky but even a spike can't be worse than not hearing from one side! I just can't go another day like this. I thought severe tinnitus was bad, but not hearing properly is a whole new world of misery.
Do u believe in Tinnitus exercises? Like if you keep doing tinnitus exercises everyday will it eventually fade away or get lower? Or u think its just a waste of time?
Hi. I believe in being proactive. Meaning, finding routines, exercises or comfort tools that affect us in a positive way, because that positive mind set really helps. So I don’t know what these exercises are that you mention, or whether they will affect your tinnitus, but if you try them and give it a good go, you might find that they will make you feel like you are helping yourself, and that is a strong and positive feeling that could possibly help you. Hope that makes sense .
@@thetinnituschannel i understand! Yeah I started walking a lot. Keeps me calm. Well i see a lot of videos on youtube saying to tap back of your head with your fingers and ear neck stretches. I was wondering if you ever tried those or think these exercises help? Just curious on your take
Hello. A lot of my spikes over these last years have come from things other than music . Like unexpected loud noises etc.. when making music I am very conservative with volume.
