- Once again we were down in OC shooting with Kent Matranga and once again we are completely blown away by the vehicle we got to shoot with him. This '62 Bel Air Bubble Top was built by Andy Leach & Cal Auto Creations and won the Barrett Jackson Cup in 2015. Not only is it stunning but the drive is mind numbing. This is the ultimate in what is possible with custom cars in my opinion.

Well over $20K in paint
Back in 95 I drove past a house with a For Sale sign on a 62 Impala Bubbletop. I turned around and went back and found out it was a dual carb 409 car and he wanted $10,000. This was in Pana, Illinois, if I recall the town correctly. It was red with red steel wheels and hubcaps.
I called my dad (the guy with the money) and he said he wasn't interested in it. He already had a 62 409 but it wasn't a Bubbletop.
I'll never forget that car.
I absolutely love this car. You can drive it around town, it's got enough power and handling to have fun with. It can win trophies at a car show. You couldn't ask for a cleaner engine compartment. And the gauges....they look stock but you can tell that they are a modern reinvention of the analog gauges. This is a rolling work of art.
In a world of overpowering straight piped cars, this car sounds great.

I usually don't like super flashy cars, but this one has some subtly and I love it.
I remember when this car was first shown, it's simply a masterpiece. IMHO, the '62 bubble top is the best looking Bel Air ever made, and this build is the closest thing to the perfect car there is.
Man I have seen some fine ass automobiles on this channel but I must add this one to my top 10 list.. no wait my top five, beautiful car!!!

This car is beautiful. The understated details, the stock looking but superb interior and to top it all off the third pedal. Just enough horsepower to be fast but not un drivable on the street like 1500 HP blower sticking through the hood cars. The bubble top, hardtop is the icing on the cake. Love this car.
I had the pleasure of seeing this car In person and speaking to the builders. Super cool vehicle.

I can't believe I just ran across this car. I just finished a build of a 1966 Biscayne in the same color combo, only my interior is period correct red. The Honda color that this car is painted in is called "Lunar Silver Metallic". Unbelievable color combination!!

It might not be converted to a low rider . It is sitting low no doubt on that .
Yeaaa... most Lowriders, a bel air past 1957, isn't really a desirable model. Impala's is where it's @. Lowriders probably saying I'm just happy they didn't convert into a drag racing car. To each his own, If it was an original impala bubble top, why even mess with it. lmao

What harmonic build! The paint matches the body form of the vehicle combining with the color of the rims, the pipes covered by the bumper. The interior beautiful restauration keeping the seats vintage style. If it was mine the interior would be black. But hey, taste is like a butt everybody has its one, right?! Anyhow, amazing vehicle... Thank you Shawn for making our life meaningful and colorful with your awesome videos...

I own a 93' buick roadmaster and have been looking to do a real nice clean lowered level look w/custom wheel setup and this look has inspired me.
I actually remember seeing this car at the auction where it won the barrett cup. Love 62 bel airs, and impalas also.

Beautiful 62 , immaculte build love 62's used to have an SS with a smallblock bored .60 over with 11-1/2 to 1 compression 780cfm holley on an edelbrock hi rise and shelby full race cam solid lifters and it would sream to 7ooo grand with no problem, loved that car
