Thanks a bunch. I appreciate your comments. Welcome to the VDJ club. :) I'll be happy to help in any way I can. There are a lot of good videos on RUclips. :)
People who recorded music from vinyl can also be subjected to drift. IE if the platter wasnt calibrated correctly, imperfections in the surface of vinyl etc etc caused the bpm to shift over time. It is a very common problem for vinyl rips to drift.
Great videos as always ! Really inspiring me to get my channel off the ground to help other DJs out! It is time to pick up the DJ industry and carry it into a new era! Era of helping each other and make the industry something to be proud of ! Keep up the good work! Any DJs out there looking for some Pro tips looking for some great info Rachel is great !
Love your vids Rach!..so easy to follow and very well explained for me. Can't speak for others, but for me, i have had many "Ahhhh haaa" moments!!!..thanks!
Johnny Chipello thanks so much! I appreciate the positive feedback! Happy to help and see your learning and doing your thing. 🙂 I really should re-record these with the new interface. 🤔
u made need to update your vdj. it takes constant updates to have a working XML (on my computer at least) if the XML file isnt working it wont save any changes you make.
Hi Rachel. This was really helpful, but one question - once I've placed all the beats correctly I end up with a track with many slightly different bpm's. When finished, should I have one track with one bpm? It plays havoc when I'm trying to beat match the next track in! Thanks.
Truthfully this video is now “dated.” The new version of VDJ makes this much easier and does this automatically. If the BPM value is variable (tempo changes) in part of the file, the CBG will not be accurate for the entire track. VirtualDJ calculates the BPM value based on the largest part of the song that provides a constant value by default. However, this can be manually changed and several parts of the track may have their own BPM value along with CBG phase. Before making any manual adjustments, click on the BPM Options and select Re-Analyze (Multiple BPM). This will make the beat grid much more accurate before fine tuning.
@@DJRachelLynch Two years later, still a great video, but I hear there is a key board assignment where u can move the BG marker a small % to line up better the beat of song......makes the mix/blend sound even cleaner......happen to hear about that????? Also, a pretty face with such great talent is always a NICE combination.......:)
after i change the bpm and grid to my preference can i lock it , so if i scan that file to analyze for bpm etc it do not go back to factory settings bpm and grid
Hey Rachel, what about the Grid by some tracks they dont fit 100% even if i correct it. i have to manually pitch them plus or minus to match exactly..how can i fix this problem
If you manually set the anchors like shown in the video or should correct any issue. You’re saying even after you set individual beat anchors the track BPM off?
@@DJRachelLynch No, if i press on sync to match the track. they sync. But it doesn't match 100% u can clearly hear it, so i have to click manually on the - minus or plus button- to match the tracks 100% how can i fix this. tnx for replying 😊
@@Keanogray954 the software isn’t perfect and/or some songs have variable BPM meaning it features a live drummer and the tempo may drift slightly. I’m not sure if you watched the entire video, but I explain and show how to correct this with the tracks that you have an issue with. You can either tap the button like you do or set manual beat anchors. That’s the only way to correct this.
Fcourse I've watched it all, u explain it very well.as if u get payed by Vdj, if not its time ,) the tracks are melodic techno bpm 123 so not that hard for the software. but i think in the track list u can see the green star behind the tracks, if it fits 100% if theres no green star it wont fit 100% i wish there is other way to show u in a short video
@@Keanogray954 I can assure you I’m not paid by VDJ. Haha. Just trying to help people out. Hopefully you’re using the newest version of VDJ. 2021 is more accurate IMO with its BOM detection. As you can see this video is a few years old. The green star simply indicates “new” songs you’ve added to your database, it has nothing to do with BPM compatibility.
Yay! I finally know how to correct variable BPMs!
Thank you so much for helping me advance forward!
Happy to help!
Good stuff girl! Very detailed and well explained! ☺️ you are making my transition over to vdj a little easier
Thanks 👍🏼

This is very useful. I learned a lot. Thanks a lot. Would please do a video about saving loops and how it works in a club situation?
thank you dj rachel..very nice
Great video! You now have a new subscriber.
needed to know this for years most of my tracks come at half pace and variable!
Thanks for this. However, is there a "save changes" button I'm missing? I am making changes and they're not saving in vdi 2021

Thanks Rachel, wasn't aware of that improvement, will try that as soon as possible. Keep busy and keep up the good work. Cheers.

Yes. It saves it.
How do I save beat grid and bpm after I change it to what I need because when I reanalyze for bpm it go back default
Tysm!
I just need big speed and slow speed how can i do that in the newest VDJ?
I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. You need to speed up and slow down what? Music? Wave forms?
Thanks!!
Great TKS

does it create a new version of the song? FYI Rock ROCK~!
Urban Sound Station No. It edits the track itself.
you taught me something new.. no I have to apply it to my songs
How do I stop my BPM from going double BPM in virtual dj 2021 those anybody knows???
You can’t stop it from happening to manly knowledge but you can fix it in the BPM editor on the left hand side with the click of one button.
@@DJRachelLynch ah ok those it ever happened to you?? That through me off when I'm mixing like my 90 BPM goes to 180 BPM
