you still die in one hit with the armor, but if I had full hearts, I would take less damage, but no desperate strength . and you can't upgrade the armor sadly
After defeating a Flux Construct in the Depths I noticed a oddly circular area not too far away. That area turned out to be the Queen Gibdo rematch. I initially thought “no no no not this again” since I didn’t realize I was supposed to use Riju’s lightning when the armor was destroyed until the end of the fight, but it actually turned out to be pretty easy despite the gloom gibdos. If you just constantly sprint and pause ever so often to regain a bit of stamina, the moths are too slow to get to you and the crawling ones will miss when they leap at you. Also, when they appear, don’t worry about the boss yet. Focus on destroying the gibdos and their nests, then move on to the queen.
if you ever find a magic rod, attach sapphire to it. Itll freeze enemies with a huge wide range. I can freeze 4+ enemies at once. Which in this case allowed me to focus on the queen and shoot down the hives.

I have 60 hours in TOTK, I've got 3/4(5) of the sage abilities (Tulin, Sidon, and Yunobo) but I can't seem to beat Queen Gibdo in the temple itself. While im kiting the gibdo to destroy the four hives either a random Gibdo kills me or her Sand Ray Attack 1 hits me. This fight seems easier in theory but Gibdo is still the hardest of the 4 area bosses to me.
Something that I did is obtain a Double Speed Up potion and drank it right at the start of Phase 2. The Gibdos were still super annoying to deal with but it gave me the ability to run farther than the fast Gibdos could and take down a Hive. After that, just circle around the light so that you can see what the Queen is doing, while also ducking in to bait the Gibdos into the light.
You don't need to use Riju for Queen Gibdo, any elemental attack attached to arrows can damage her. Destroy the Gibdo trees to get the lights and run in only one direction either to the right or the left with the sand ray attacks.

I like that all the dungeon bosses are just critters from the underground. It doesn’t really make sense in the Queen Gibdo’s case, because how can there be two queens, but it’s still a really neat way to tie them into the world realistically. And it explains why three of them are bugs. Also, quick question: do these rematches respawn?

Aren't Gibdos supposed to be the mummy like monsters in Zelda lore? When did they turn into undead moths? I'm not against it, it's just a weird design change to me.
A lot of names being brought back. King Rauru is now a Lamb-man... when in Ocarina of Time Rauru was the light sage who was a fat white guy (who turns into the owl) Link first meets upon awakening (but actually first met leaving Kokiri Forest).

Wait so is Mucktorok the only boss in the depths that doesn’t drop a unique material that can be fused? (Like Colgera Jaw, Queen Gibdo Wing, etc.)
Yep, he drops some good loot though, but I prefer the fusion material
Mucktorok has a guaranteed double-octorok eyeball drop
he should’ve dropped a Mucktorok Tentacle
