  • Life happens, both for the better and for the worse. Being a kid is hard, especially as it relates to school. Families fight. Relationships come and go. Individuals have their own internal struggles. There are amazing people in this world that seek to uplift others, and also people that prey on others and hope to take them down. Cherie’s story highlights how these normal life events happen, but no matter how bad life can be, Jehovah’s Witnesses can always add stress and drama to the situation that wouldn’t have been there otherwise. In the end, Cherie had to choose herself in order to protect her own peace.

That section about her and her husband, where she mentions that he had his demons, he had come out of a really bad situation but hadn't dealt with it. To that I say, "When, when do JWs ever dealt with their past or their hurt or demons. Never, none of them even actually DEAL we issues. They just coat over it with more activity, and say let God deal with it. As if he will use some magic pill."

Most church denominations do the same, hence the church is like a hospital, where no one gets healed.

This was an especially good interview. I so relate to so much that you talk about here. The systemic abuse is SO typical, which shows that it isnt "isolated incidents"! It is deliberate & all inclusive. "Religious preditors" is a perfect description. Glad you got free Cherie. You go girl!

You are a strong, amazing woman Cherie. I literally cheered out loud when you mentioned where you fall in regards to religion. I'm right there with you. Welcome to absolute freedom!

I resonate so much with Chelsie's experience. I remember growing up in Florida, Mom pioneered in an old Ford Maverick with no AC. Drug me out every day in the summer 120 degrees in the shade. Had to wear that dumbass tie and polyester pants....but it made me tough.
I grew up and still ran that rat wheel until about 1 1/2 years ago. No more.

Fantastic interview! Thank you so much for sharing your story. You did so well with the things you said to your mom and sister and neice. I'm going to use what you said as a sample script as I deal with the same issues now.

Gday Cherie , Your 3 and a half hour interview was therapy for me ,I dissociated in 2018 aged 57 ,like you I got baptised in 1996 but I was 35 ,you were 14. Watchtower hijacked my mind in 1988 aged 27 over the hope of seeing my Dead Mother in the Resurrection, I was born in 1961 and Mum died in 1962 aged 30 ,I was only 1 when she died ,Watchtower is a parasite that feeds on people's grief. Hey Cherie ,,Do you have a You Tube channel because you can help pimos and ex jws with comfort ?❤❤❤

Boy is this triggering memories of 💩 that happened to me! My kids weren’t invited to witness parties bc they weren’t spiritual enough!
I had 4 kids but was asked to give a couple a ride to and from an assembly in Madison WI 3.5 hrs round trip. My kids got left home that day so I could transport this elderly couple.
My husband didn’t work for a DECADE I went to elders several times prayed waited on Jehovah ended up refinancing the house so I could make the payments alone….he never lost privileges in the congregation but wasn’t supporting his own family! I dk why I didn’t wake up sooner but everything makes sense now…. It’s not the Truth at all just a buncha fake ppl elevating themselves by works ( that can’t save u btw)

I was baptized when I was young, but I can't remember the exact date, where it took place or my exact age at the time. It's as if my memory has been wiped clean. I have a good memory for a lot of things, but all I remember about my baptism is that I wore a t-shirt over a swimsuit.

You are a strong woman, Cherie, and a sensible one at that. You seem to have a great deal more sense than the Watchtower Society's Governing Body does. I don't believe that the Watchtower Society's cult is worth spending the rest of your life on. Thank you for sharing your experience with that cult.
By the way, I am glad that you are out of it. Stay strong, and may God bless you, no matter what the Watchtower Society's Governing Body may think.

I took some college classes, that's how I got interested in politics and voting.
I was physically out, but somewhat mentally still in.
But yes, after the college classes, definitely knew I wouldn't be going back.

Darling you are the change the world needs ❤ you are doing it! Just by raising your girls without this cult is giving them the opportunity to shine and be free 🙌 yr mum says things like my mum says to me, I’m 54 haven’t been to a meeting since I was about 13? She says to me that I will be sorry when Armageddon come 😂😂😂 what the fuck? Who says that to their child? A Jehovah does… they can feel but can’t love 🥰 and you have put a stop to passing that on to a next generation! I love you I adore your strength, anytime you are in Australia 🇦🇺 let me know mwah xxxxx

Well the good news is that Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of *eternal life* to all who trust Him alone for salvation 💘💘💘.
Jesus paid for all the sins of all the world at the cross (past, present, and future). That payment is put to your account when you have believed on Christ alone for salvation 🌹❤️💕❤️❤️.
*This means that saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.*

Jesus did not die for our sins, he was put to death for blasphemy, accused of being God's son. Sin had NOTHING to do with it.
The apostle Paul wrote all about sin and Jesus dying for our sins, this is an absolute lie. Paul still held onto some strongly held beliefs from the Hebrews doctrines that he was accustomed to, and that human and animal blood sacrificial offerings was a requirement the Isralites had to pay back to Jehovah/Yahweh for the atonement of their sins. This custom carried on through to Jesus who then became Jehovah/Yahweh's ultimate human blood sacrifice for the atonement of mankinds sins.. The God of the Hebrews was the devil, and it was he who made up the concept of "sin". when the Hebrews/Isralites failed to uphold his commandments.
Jesus was never an advocate for human and animal blood sacrifices. The very thought of it disgusted and repulsed him, and he himself was never a willing blood sacrifice either.
