i wish i had these vids a few months ago :p
Scott, are you going to do more videos? Love the series, I'm following along tearing down my 1943 GPW
Jeff Morris absolutely. Look for a new one next week.
hey Scott, what torque setting do you recommend on the castle nut of the ball joints when fitting? Those ones you removed in the video seemed to be just hand tightened. I don't see any mention in the TM but would appreciate your advice on this - thank you
Marty, I tightened the new ones tight with a wrench and then backed off enough to allow the cotter pin hole to line up👍
@@TeamG503 Thanks Scott - I really appreciate you taking the time to reply 👍
Penetrating catalyst? What did you use? Thanks, Great video.
Robert Notman PB Blaster Or Kroil are my favorites.
50/50 ATF and Paint Thinner in a Spray Bottle.
Works great and is very inexpensive.
Do you have videos of m38a1?
How do I know when I should replace the Bell Crank Shaft ?
David
Replace whenever you see grooves on the pin from the bushings or bearings. Visual inspection from turning the wheel you can see movement. Early bushings were replaced with bearings. Those can be wore or damaged before the pin.
Penetrating Catalyst
50/50 ATF and Paint Thinner in a Spray Bottle.
Apply liberally!
From 9 minutes on if things don't work out so easily as is often the case, here is how it can be done: www.jeepdraw.com/images/HOW-TO-R&R-Bell-Crank-1-APR-15.pdf
