Slowly it's get back to life. Happy to see your repair and jobs on it working. I staying the whole time with you what's going on with Dyson. I see one in ebay for more than 10 years ago and I was frustrated I didn't by it. It's a shame the never got back to the market but in your bids I see why.... Amazing design but the same members on issues.
This machine just has turned into a total nightmare!
youve done well to stick with it.
that loose lining between the drums is gonna cause a problem i think with test washes if clothes get stuck and wedge the drum... :(
be interesting to see the test wash and see if it will reach its proper spin speeds
What a troublesome machine this is... at least it's working now 😂
Hi @bootsowen and everyone my CRO2 control panel is missing the first few words, for example it says something which I cannot make out leading to then press start, I hope that makes sense, does anyone if I need to replace my control panel or could it be something else causing the issue. Great video thankyou so much.
The display fails on these machines, If you can get a replacement display it should be simple enough to swap it out.
Well done, it seems a good amount of patience is essential to bring them back to life! Would love to play around with one of them too, but we sadly don't have them here. Does yours still have the contrarotator enabled? If so, maybe it would be possible to weld a new drum spider for the rear drum out of the remaining shaft and some scrap metal, if one can weld. I've seen a few videos a while back where people made their own drum spiders, an interesting topic if you ask me.
Glad it's working now!
I found some soda cream aluminium bottles, any tips on undoing the brass cap. Thanks
What is a soda cream aluminium bottle?
Soda stream bottle, I found some but can't get the brass cap off, it's screwed in tight
It's a c02 canister.
Post a video of it. I don’t know that one. Are you sure it’s empty. Might be worth money to sell on eBay.
Can you realign drum paddles in the same position as other ?
yes, but why?
@@bootsowen Because I think there is a problem. I remember they was in ither posution before. How the inner drum can spin if thee is no spider inside ?
also, most machines though it makes no sense will pause while pumping even if the drum isn't empty yet (LG do it alot) dont try to make sense of its programming logic because it doesn't, even machines purchased in 2023 do weird pauses while all sorts of sensors and magic are working in the background. and we're dealing with Dysons first attempt at washing machine programming bearing in mind Dyson didn't do nearly enough research into washing machines before bringing this to market which is ultimately why it failed as a product...that and the astonishingly bad reliability. 1 in every 4 of these that were sold developed faults within the first few weeks.
It was quite an interesting PCB, I guess they had to make a bespoke one because of two motors, it is very old school, even a hotpoint one looks more modern!
@@bootsowen and thats saying something considering how dodge Hotpoint/Whirlpool are, if it continues acting up id say have a look at the solder pads on the pcb, some of them might need a fresh dose of solder to touch up any dry joints, after 20 years id expect some of them to be getting a bit flakey.
@@bootsowen the pause after the wash when it drains will be a suds cooling phase like alot of machines do
knew it was a loose connection, removing and reconnecting polished up the contacts a bit and restored the connection.
I didnt polish them though, just took them off and on again really.
@@bootsowen the action of removing the plug and reinserting it would have a very slight polishing effect on the contacts, not noticeable to the eye but enough to increase contact, with all the stress of removing the drum the plug could have just wiggled is way out slightly so it wasn't making good contact in the first place and firmly restoring the plug fixed it
