Man it's been 15years already and I always come back here from time to time. I still remember the time finished this game when I was still 5 yrs old, it was a very beautiful experience. Hands down to my fav Tales game 💯 Luke x Tears 🤍
I find it quite cute and funny that at the end of this song Mieu had saved the game progress for us so we can load it at the next episode.

Though I never had the chance to play the game, I was given the chance to experience the story when Animax aired the Anime version of Tales of the Abyss.
Truth be honest, I found it boring because I couldn't stomach long-winded, story-driven films like that as a kid. But the only thing I likes about it was this. The songs. The soundtrack of this game became one of the things that started my deep delve into Anime.
And during the pandemic, for a sense of nostalgia, I came back to watch the anime. And now...
...Damn I cannot stop crying every time I hear Karma or Bouken Suisei. Finally able to fully appreciate the story of Luke, Asch, Tear and the rest of this group made me realize that I missed a lot growing up.
I can fully say that I'm a fan of the Tales series, despite only having Xillia as my proof of it, playing it on my PS3 every. single. day. Until I reached its ending.
Man, now I cannot not play a game without a good story :v

The series really hit its stride with Symphonia (that's well beloved for a reason) and almost everything that came after it was freakin' superb. If you can play others, I cannot recommend enough that you do.
I really loved Vesperia, best ending I've seen even if the final boss is the hardest in the series. (I hate that fight) Zestiria got a lot of flack for experimental mechanics but the characters and interactions are absolute gold and I really love the story. Berseria did fill in any gaps it had and it really sets up the legend of the Shepherd introduced in Zestiria...but I didn't love it. Everyone else seemed to though.

I love how they managed to perfectly fit an entire RPG's story plot into 26 episodes. I wish they could do this for Vesperia because I'm never getting a Xbox360 :(
they're making a tales of vesperia definitive edition for the ps4. This includes their second mystic artes, new bosses and flynn and patty as part members. It'll probably be on pc too!

Funny story was when this was on ANIMAX, it aired right before the anime that I regularly watch (I don't remember the name of that anime sadly), so I got to watch every last 3 minutes of each episode while patiently waiting for the next show, so I got to hear this song every week. Also got to hear a few bits of KARMA from the commercial.
Flash forward after 10 years, I decided to play Abyss after finishing Berseria. I wondered back then why the characters and the opening song looked and sounded so familiar, and it turned out it was from that one anime I've only watched the ending sequence of.
After finishing the game (loved it), I decided to finally watch the anime and finally heard this song again after 10 years. And it was literally like getting hit with a truck of nostalgia the first time I listened to this again. It's like coming back home to a place you've never been in.

Well, the anime is actually REALLY accurate to the game, from what I remember. I haven't seen the anime in forever, so you should get the story without having to play the game, but if you can find a copy of the game (whether on PS2 or 3DS,) I'd definitely recommend picking it up. It's great!

I have a PS2 but it stopped working apparently. So I feel your pain. I've had Tales of the abyss for awhile before it broke but I postponed it until I had finished FFXIII, Dragons Dogma, and Record of Agarest War. And then my cousin dropped my Ps2 -__-
