  • Part 4 of this series follows the DSP&P/C&S route from the large rock wall to one of the few remaining telegraph poles along the line. Numerous rock cribbing walls on the uphill side, most of which are still intact over a century after their construction, are pointed out as well as one stone culvert site and one wooden culvert site.

    Thank you for exploring and sharing some of the railroad history of Colorado. The State has not done a great job preserving this amazing history.

      You're welcome. I'm so happy to do and wish I could do more. The real strength of preservation is showing up through organized volunteers in Como. It's incredible that what they're doing with the old C&S RR facilities. Also, grassroots efforts are getting traction to fix the Palisade wall near the Alpine tunnel too.

    Wow. Hopefully you can do the same for the line from Denver and Golden to the current Georgetown Loop RR
