I've just found this video for the first time. I'm a Scottish Presbyterian, with a love of choral music - I sing classical music with a large choir in Glasgow, and I love all sorts of choral music, especially from the 16th century. I'm absolutely blown away by the Shira Choir. I'd no idea there was such music and such joy in Orthodox Judaism - shame on me. The way you guys manage all your different harmonies, time changes and key changes is wonderful. But best of all is the love and joy with which you fill your music and your singing. Absolutely terrific.
To my gentile friends: I, as a person of Jewish faith, have experienced - and been a part of singing - similar songs. This video definitely deserves the recognition it is receiving, especially because it brings to light the beauty of my culture. I am not religious at all, but I am very impressed by this performance and will come back to the video over and over again. As a choir member, I can say that you can clearly tell whether a choir is just singing along with the notes or is really absorbed in the singing because what they are singing has a deep meaning for them. The latter is an extatic moment and this is exactly what we see here. Moving.

@Tomy The Fox Then you are walking blindly on the wrong path and you're following a religion, not the word of God. Both religions are equaly drowned in idolatry . Stop worshipping the creations (saints, corpses, statues or other stone/wood carved images , angels) and start worshipping the Creator, as you should, as the word of God actually says.

Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise early, To retire late, To eat the bread of anxious labors- For He gives [blessings] to His beloved even in his sleep. Behold, children are a heritage and gift from the Lord, The fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. How blessed [happy and fortunate] is the man whose quiver is filled with them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies [in gatherings] at the [city] gate.

I am not religious at all, but I am very impressed by this performance and will come back to the video over and over again.
