Fucking A! Bas is one of my all time favorites. What a great interview. Bert, you did a great job being more self aware and practicing active listening. This was a golden episode.
"I made a list of all the bullies." Legend. I had a friend who did this as well. He only fought bullies. Never cared what the odds were. Would provoke them. Then do what he loved.
That is so cool! There's no way your buddy became what he hated, no way anyone saw him as a bully. Do you think I can get his autograph as I'm so easily impressed with men who lacks impulse control and has a humongous ego?
I agree 100%, in fact both seem to have a very good command of the English language, in general that "facial-fur-bearing" fella's funny. No more specifically speaking about the other little pretty bald one matter of fact she's so cute I like for her to meet me after school today and shave my balls. That's right if you don't want to watch I'll just charge you $2 donation for testicular cancer awareness month that's what April is good for other than April showers. And and having a Bose by pretty little bald girl named badass. Now I'm almost guaranteed to personally meet the Famous Bas Rutten, then probably get my ass kicked. I could be so lucky to get a ass-kicking from Bas Rutten how many people are lucky enough to get an ass whooping from Bas? Personally I'd consider it an Honor, especially if it helps fund quality charitable organizations like the testicular cancer people.
@@lobsangtsetan534concussion could not take a vacation when Bas fought. Livers were not safe from him during match. Idk why would anyone fight a prime Bas AND party after when they can't drink since their livers r non-existent 😂 ☠️
Awesome stuff and good change up Bert. Love Bas, how he tells a story and tells it like it is. Last guy to start a fight and also last guy you want to fight 🤷🏻♂️😂
This guy had dinner at my dad's house when I was a teenager and was very honest about both being a badass in a way that made even stupid teenage me take him seriously, and about his struggle to recover from particularly shoulder injuries at the time (2003 ish?), and based on this echoing in my head and stopping a number of times I SHOULD have gotten injured, I think this conversation has saved my life multiple times.
have an autographed portrait from him, i met him and he gave me a 20 second run down of his career all while being completely humble about it and not being offended that i didnt really know much at that time
I was just thinking about this episode and had to come back to give you guys another compliment. I've come back to this interview 3 times now, that is a first... once again, a really phenomenal episode.
You're awesome Bas. Been a fan of you long time and you were one of the first people to get me interested in MMA and I've been a lifelong fan ever since. Thanks man
As someone with severe asthma, I can attest to the fact that you can help your asthma with exercise. In middle school, I had to run my laps for track with my inhaler in hand. The coach hated me and I ran ALOT. After 6 months or so, I didn't need an inhaler. Once I got into my late 20s and stopped working out and exercising, it slowly came back. Now I'm back to needing an inhaler.
Perfect reason to get back out there and train mate. Even of its just 15 or 20 minutes a day just get out there and get your breathing back under control. Much luck mate and I know you can do it 💪
Oh my God...me and Bas have so much in common. I was bullied when I was younger too , never got beat up ,but definitely bullied, because I have cerebral palsy and had to wear braces and even had to learn how to walk again after being in a wheelchair for a year after surgery. So I made a list of all of the bullies that ever picked on me and I went around kicking their ass until people learned to leave me alone. I never went out starting anything because I was always told if you start stuff you will get your butt kicked. And since i don't like bullies I will definitely hunt down a bully and teach them a lesson. I would rather be friends with people than to constantly fight but some people are dead-set on fighting you so you just have to make an example out of them to teach the rest to leave you alone. Bas is a pure legend. Much respect to you Bert and Bas from here in Mobile,Alabama.
I really hope Bas Rutten comes a few times over. Good chemistry between you two. Bert love your stories. Loved this podcast. And please Bas Rutten. Do that book please. I hope there will be a Dutch version too. 2 legends in one room. :)
Bas rutten is my favourite fighter of all time. I watched him talk about his pancreas fighting series, giving commentary over his fights. So smart, funny and great dude.
Fabulous pod! Im one of those that mostly avoids the Rogan Fight Pods. But this dude is next level.. That last bit with the plan to film it made me Reallly laugh

You guy's made my day, really, super funny, INTERESTING as hell, crazy like, people, this was a honour, to see Bas and you Bert, crazy stories, thank u both, appreciate it, LEGENDS... Here come's da BOOM 😂
Bas was the first to imply biometric training and thought in his fights. A pioneer in being intuitive on his feet but understanding how the body moves and doesn't move. He did it without thinking, what a pioneer!!!!!
Bas, is the reason I sold my car and moved to Phuket for 4 years. Learned a lot about myself. One of my the guys on my bucket list to meet before i die kind of dudes. and Of course gotta meet Bert someday.
I love this man called BERT! yes, he did WAAAAY better this interview compared to so many others. however, it was hilarious when he was telling Bas "i could listen to you tell stories all day long" right before he launches into a story:)

The term Legend gets tossed around a lot but Bas Rutten really fucking is a Living Legend. Also an absolute hysterical man. Killed it in Here comes the Boom. I watch that movie for him and Henry winkler scenes.
Wow. The best thing I learned. Don’t stress! It’s out of you’re control. Straight from Boss my favorite. I use to be 9-10 using the total gym from chuck norris. Boss became my number 1
Me too, Please allow me to drop some true knowledge on pancreatic cancer: 1. Like It's the third leading killer of humans. 2. There's no screening mechanism to detect early-onset pancreatic cancer. 3. Pancreatic cancer usually is asymptomatic until stages three or four when it presents, here it is typically 100% fatal. Hope this helps!
Shout out to Minoru Suzuki and Masakatsu Funaki. Two Karl Gotch trained Catch Wrestlers and badass MMA pioneers. I always thought that Suzuki could have beaten Royce Gracie in those days.
There's tough guys and then there's Bas Rutten
An older GSP 💪
And Walker Texas ranger, lol
And a great story teller. Bas is boss! ❤ Algorithm, Mike Vecchione
@@Tplantsurvivor17 that seems very accurate for some reason lol

The Bas Rutten self defense videos from like 15 years ago are a hilarious classic.
