What they are going to do with MRL units has been one of the biggest questions Ive had. I agree with what Michael said about point cost being a way to control spam. I could see them doubling, maybe even tripling the cost of an MRL unit. This would reflect the high risk / high reward nature of these units. Also, the thing to remember about spam lists is that they all have major weaknesses. For example, as Bo has pointed out many times, if your Op brings weak infantry to allow the spam of other units, then kill his infantry. No infantry, no objectives. Weak infantry, easy taking of Order Dice from their bag

Why Bo and Michael haven't being given rights to play test the v3 rules is beyond me. Bo has being on the cutting edge for years in driving the game. His dedication to the game and training new players deserves recognition or insight to the v3 rules...

IRT cheap order dice-Warlord’s said that the lack of free unit slots in the force org charts indicates a game-wide policy against free units. I wonder if the same is true of specialized units-USMC War Dogs, Commissars, Kempeitai, etc.

If you bring spam, so will they.

your BBQ list was not as spam as it could be..... rifle platoon x2 : inex 2lt, 2x inex infantry squad, engineer platoon x2 : inex 2lt, 4 exgineer squads with flamethrower, 3 flamthrower teams..... less than 1200 points, 20 die, 14 flamethrowers. Toasty!
Half expecting a restriction on 1 or 2 pieces of engineer equipment per squad, so for example, German engineers could take the grenade launcher OR flamethrower.

I think the problem is that if engineers no longer have flame-throwers, then getting one means a pretty heavy tax of one platoon commander and 2 engineer squads. I see more multiple launchers/mortar spam being more easy/cheaper to make and put on the table. Also, armoured platoons with bikes (or even troops of bikes) sounds pretty deadly too, as they are armoured car.

Flamethrowers may simply be reduced in power, especially vs armored vehicles. Sure, take 7 flamethrowers but if they can’t kill my two or three medium tanks you are out of luck.
MMG Jeep or motorcycle spam we already know is going to be reduced in effectiveness because of the changes to vehicle machineguns and soft skinned vehicles now being destroyed immediately on a roll of a 6 to damage rather than going to the damage chart. That’s effectively a 50% reduction in survivability and a 40% reduction in firepower from 2nd to 3rd edition for an MMG Jeep.
HMGs getting buffed might make a back line HMG Jeep a cool unit though. The extra range and shots (6 shots divided by 2 is still 3 shots, so vehicle HMGs have actually been slightly buffed from 2nd to 3rd) could make an HMG Jeep a good fire support unit to deal with enemy soft skins and armor 7+ things like halftracks.
