Woodturning -E110- Hollowing tools- First Use

- This is my initial use for the new hollowing tools. Nothing ambitious for the first use, just a simple pencil pot.
I just wanted to get the feel of the tools and observe how they perform. So far I am quite satisfied with the feel and performance. Let me know what you think in the comment section.
The handles were turned from Eucalyptus used here as garden stakes, Cost about 50 cents for a 3 metre length.
The tools cost about $50 USD for the pair, from Lazada and the brass tube ( which will produce around 7 or 8 ferrules), $10 USD from Ebay. Total per tool, approx' $26 USD.

First! Looks like those new tools worked great John. Helped you make a fine looking pencil pot.
Take care,
Gary
Thanks Gary, the "pencil" pot got relegated to a crochet hook pot. Them's the breaks :-) take care
Hello my friend, Unless you try what's new, you can't learn anything new. And you are always trying to teach innovations. And you always produce innovative works and ideas. Thank you for sharing. See you. Big greetings.
Thank you so much for your support and kind comment. Take care, John
A couple of very useful tools for a very good price and a little effort on your part, John. I say Good Job! Cute pencil cup, too! 😊

I also bought two interior carving knives. I know they say they should be used at high speed. You are using great. great master.

New tools are fun. And sometimes a challenge. This piece came out fine for sure. You like them ? Take care. -Mike
Hi Mike, I've used them a couple of times now and the carbide tips are a lot smaller than what I am used to they give a great finish and are comfortable to use. Take care, John

John, carbide tipped tool is my go to for hollowing. Keep safe cheers Tim
Cheers Tim, this way is a lot cheaper than commercially sourced gouges. Stay safe.
Nice job mate ! I'm impressed that those two carbide tools came out at only £19 each..... if I have that right.
Brilliant result mate! Cheers Bram
Cheers mate, that sounds about right @ 19 quid. Even if they didn't work out, not much of a loss. I'm quite pleased so far. Take care, John
Jolie travail John bravo et belle vidéo top 👍👏👋
Merci Denis, j'apprécie votre soutien
Very good John, I thought you were being unfair using long nose jaws but the tools worked well. You must have a lot of pens in your house lol. Cheers Geoff
Hey Geoff, long nose safer than catching the jaws with a gouge, Thanks for your support, John. (yes, too many pens in my place.)
