- This hollow form bowl took a week to complete, mainly as the varnish takes 24 hours to dry and 36 to fully cure. It was a typical project for me, the design was on the fly.

Very nice John. A nice shape that goes well with this piece of wood.
Well done!
Gary
Thanks Gary, I chose to keep the shape otherwise it would have ended up a very small bowl. I think the chopped edge gives it an unusual dimension. Take care, John

Hi John, That is a very unique shape and one I love.
Great lid with a chunky finial, which really works for me.
Loved the video mate.
Take care John.
Cheers, Huw
Thanks Hwyl, I thought the simple, short finial would look more in place with the chunkiness of the bowl, plus I didn't have a lot to play with. You know, on the fly design, cheers mate. Take care, John
Really beautiful finish!
Thanks Chris, your support is really appreciated

Tough stuff John, a real effort but very rewarding in the end. 😎
Thank you Leo, it was hard going at time but I'm happy with the result. John
Nicely done. 👍.
Thanks 👍
Looks great. 👍
Thanks for watching
Great project John, loving the lid, great design. That wood looked really hard to turn
Thanks, Teak is very hard and one of the characteristics of the tree is that it draws silica from the earth which dulls the tools, frequent sharpening and honing. One of the reasons for carbide tools.Stay safe, John
@@SiamWoodShop I never knew that about Teak, every days a school day as they say, but it still looked lovely
Beautiful 👌
Thank you
Good stuff man!!👍😎
Thanks Luie, keep safe, John
Keren. Saya suka 👍
Thank you so much
I like the way you keep the chopped edge on the side of the bowl. The lid looks good too. Beautiful design overall John 👌..Was it a sandpaper you used for burning the circle marks on the lid. I've never seen it before. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
Thanks for watching. I used a thin slice of wood to burn but a popsicle stick or stirrer works just as well, just sharpen the end down. Cheers, John
