  • Scaffolding is gone! :) After more than a year of looking at the ugly scaffolding, the time has finally come to see how the house will actually look like. In this part of the series, we started doing finishing work on interior walls, we did some drywall and most importantly, the facade of the house got its final look. Make sure to turn on the CC for subtitles to find out more information on what we are doing.

    The sheer amount of love, effort and attention to detail you've put into building this house is testament to your patience and willpower. My hat, as always, is off to you sir. If anyone here in Greece showed even 1/10th the love and care you have towards the building of your palace, I would have so much less work here as a professional painter, hahaha!

    Hello Lignum, On and off I watched this build from the beginning. What pops out for me in this build is the attention to detail with the rebar and cement pours. A building that will last. You have also taught me about the wood called Larch. Many more details that I remember but too long to list. I believe you designed this house and would not be surprised if you do sell a Plan Kit for this build. It will be a success and I think it will eventually be redesigned to build with ICF blocks. Such a formidable Do It Yourself'er. Such a Fortress with a Scandinavian Vibe. I did recheck the videos to see if there was a part where you showed the installation of the windows in detail but I could not find it. That would be such a welcomed video as I have recently searched for detailed videos of the installation of European Tilt and Turn windows in ICF homes and I could not find one in detail. Too many options and interpretations for that. So as I return and watch this video, I again comment, I Love This Home. Congratulations

    As others have said: it looks stunning! Well done on getting the exterior completed.
    Originally i thought the house looked quite tall but the horizontal wood cladding has taken that away and it looks to me a lot more evenly proportioned.
    I also like the side of the building in the thumbnail - the gaps in the cladding between the windows it's a nice detail.

    Great video, amazing to see the house almost finished.
    Some questions:
    What is the name of the metal framing system you used in your drywall installation? I don't recognize it but it looks narrower than anything I have seen before, and could be very useful when building smaller spaces where every inch matters!
    Did you consider making a rooftop deck over your carport? My first thought after I saw the horizontal parapet wall was that you built a deck up there, and then I saw no door...
    How are you/did you finish the underside of the carport roof? I can't think of a way that protects the OSB but still shows the beams...

    The house is overbuilt. Just how I like it. Beautiful and perfect execution. The original plans of my house also had these oak boards, but we were convinced not to do it because it requires regular maintenance. • @xzytqweo3538
      @xzytqweo3538 8 месяцев назад +1

      On metal roofs with a slope, you need what they call snow guards. It can be a long piece of metal or small pieces of metal scattered all over the roof that sits up at an angle. This will prevent the snow from sliding off once the sun comes out and starts to melt the snow or ice. If a large amount of snow slides off at one time it will tear off any type of gutter or trim work along the edge, not to mention as it is falling off the to the ground it can damage anything on the way down and what is on the ground beneath it. So these "guard" will prevent the snow from sliding off.

      What’s the point of you watching the whole series of videos? So you can find a “problem for every solution” or just to comment because you are not able to build something like this by your self?

    Are you ready to build the best chicken coop ever? Then you need this book! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxzaRUJNcbypw-fRBDbqqz43ULIa-1EGP- It has tons of awesome barns and coops that you can choose from, without making you dizzy with too many options. The book is super easy to follow, with lots of pictures and videos to show you how it's done. But don't expect to learn everything about chickens here, this book is all about the structures. You'll have to look elsewhere for chicken care tips. Trust me, this book is a must-have for any chicken lover!
