However, astronomer David Morrison says that this is impossible because the Earth is always 28,000 light-years away from the center of the galaxy. The movie does include one real geology term: soil liquefaction. Soil liquefaction occurs when the ground is saturated with water and then an earthquake happens.
Cusack's been a prominent voice in calling out the atrocities against Palestinians. One of the very very few in Hollywood. But of course that gets reduced to "he talks about politics."
Thanks for the reaction. What I always thought is that Anheuser is here shown as a villain. Or at least villain-like. But I stand my ground that in the core he was right in many of his (planned) decisions. Ok, I also like Oliver Platt as an actor very much, but even so, I think in these kinds of scenarios unpopular decisions must be made. And he was mostly right...and you just can't save them all. He wasn't without fault and some decisions more than questionable of course.
I can see it as he is the designated villain for the movie or like one anyway, but he absolutely makes sense when you think about it for a moment. I tend to side with him for the most part. He has a job to do, it's incredibly stressful, and they are all in a terrifying situation where they could die. Also, his expert scientists keep being wrong and making his job to help save humanity and government even more stressful lol.
Thinking back 2012 was kinda crazy! I was pregnant with my second child in 2012 with a due date of 12/31…talk about months of anxiety! My first pregnancy ending in serious complication which added risk to this one. I LOVED 2012 when it came out. It was my favorite disaster film. I thought of it as more campy ridiculousness. As a full fledge adult (somewhat, lol) and a mom...it hits different. It almost feels too real at this point. I hits so differently.
I love the scene between Chiwetel Ejiofor and his dad. It's so emotional and always reminds me about my late mom, she was terminally ill and we said million goodbyes, but you cannot ever say goodbye. :(
26:33 onwards: Me: Don't you dare talk sh*t about my Gordon!!! 35:50 Me: Phew! Redemption! I will allow it! :D Also me: What? I love John Cusack! Why do I care about Gordon? But I do. And I hate what the script has done to him.
1:05:44 I made the truly fucking *epic* mistake of taking my kids (then 10 and 12) to this movie, because I'd got them hooked on disaster movies young and they'd never had a problem with them. In the movie, the Earth and sun align with the center of the Milky Way galaxy. However, astronomer David Morrison says that this is impossible because the Earth is always 28,000 light-years away from the center of the galaxy.
The movie does include one real geology term: soil liquefaction. Soil liquefaction occurs when the ground is saturated with water and then an earthquake happens.
Dude! I love how I get all your references to other movies. Perfectly timed 😅
Cusack's been a prominent voice in calling out the atrocities against Palestinians. One of the very very few in Hollywood. But of course that gets reduced to "he talks about politics."
The actor in glasses is John Billingsly. He was in Star Trek: Enterprise as Dr. phlox
And the actor that played Adrian's father is Blu Mankuma. Voice of Tigatron/Tiger-Hawk from Beast Wars and Gigabyte from ReBoot.
John- "I love you dad"
Aaron- " I love you too"
🤣
I got very sick at 4 months and was hospitalized; At 7 months, we had Hurricane “Superstorm” Sandy here in NY, just before Halloween, and the whole time, I had the date of 12/21/12 looming in the back of my mind, with images of this movie in my head 😆BTW my son was born 12/22/12 😂🤣 Ah memories! ❤
I LOVED 2012 when it came out. It was my favorite disaster film. I thought of it as more campy ridiculousness. As a full fledge adult (somewhat, lol) and a mom...it hits different. It almost feels too real at this point. I hits so differently.
2012 is such thrilling disaster movie, it’s a lot of fun specially the limo scene 💛 John and Aaron great reaction xx
"Lift your big @$$ for Sasha!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everyone thought the world was over when this movie came out. I still remember😂
1:05:44 I made the truly fucking *epic* mistake of taking my kids (then 10 and 12) to this movie, because I'd got them hooked on disaster movies young and they'd never had a problem with them. This damn movie gave them both nightmares and anxiety for yeeeears. Turned out to be such a major parent fail on my part my daughter still ribs me about it sometimes.
The little girls name is Morgan Lily and I have only seen her in “Love's Everlasting Courage”. It’s a sweet series of movies. (2011)
Gordon didn’t deserve to go out like that, that would be a horrifically painful way to die
21:26 she’s Morgan Lily and she played Young Raven in XMen First Class. 1:03:40 this guy is in “Halloweentown 2: Kalabar’s Revenge”. He was also a teacher in “The Santa Clause 2”
In a perfect world, Gordon and Tamara lived and ended up together. I feel like they had the best chemistry.
“We have raised 1.4 million dollars-“
“For Carmy’s restaurant!”
😂😂😂
Blu Mankuma is the actor that plays the father in the cruise ship. For fellow Disney Channel fans, he played Gort in Halloweentown II. He’s also in the Robocop series.
I loved Gort, so funny. He's busy, you see, sorting his socks.
“Love you dad”
“Love you too”
😂😂😂😂😂
Imagine being anxious over the world ending in 2012 and then watching this movie
I’m so happy to see John and Aaron / Jaaron reacting to this! This is one of my fave John Cusack performances after America’s Sweethearts (he does rom-com well), Con Air and High Fidelity.
John is great
Don't forget voicing our favourite con, Dimitri. From Anastasia 😍
8:00 iron core generator (Earth) . Plus passing through the galactic plains. With less ionosphere protection and more sun storm activity let's in more charge.
Two 12-year-old boys goofing around, having fun and watching a movie 🤣and don't forget the usual competition "where have I seen this actor before". You two are hilarious.
Ahh 12 years later what a coincidence m.. mm let just check my bunker 😂
R.I.P Gordo 04 LMAO 🤣 😂
“I knew astronomy would be the end of us” 😂
When it comes to Roland Emmerich's Movies, these below are my own Top 3 Favorites.
1. Independence Day
2. Stargate
3. The Patriot
You a real one for putting Stargate on here. I'm always surprised by how many people still haven't seen it
I used to watch this all the time when it came on FX back in the day, and I’ll say for 2009 movie it honestly looks incredible
...... this reaction is 2 hours long!?!?!?!?!?!? That's basically the whole movie 😂😂
And we love it. We want more 2hr cuts
This movie gave 9 year old me a taste of existential crisis
7:14 I was in that riot scene.
49:42 I died in the Las Vegas ash cloud.
1:02:28 I was crushed by the Vatican.
1:34:34 I survived on the ship.
I did a lot of green screen time it was cool to see how it panned out.
All my scenes were filmed in the Vancouver BC area.
Never doubt AP Student Kevin Tran
Dante’s peak please, that movie is so underrated!
1:28:47 the “I love you too- yeah i love you dad”😂😂😂
This channel is going to grow fast and I hope it does faster … my fav channel at the moment her eyes are so big and bright and his is just such a cool dude !!
Johann Urb (Sasha) is Estonian, so he should be able to do a credible Russian accent.
the funniest thing is indian scientists use imperial system 🤣🤣
46:25 That ain't smoke, that's a bloody _pyroclastic flow!!_
Plz plz plzzzzzzzz give "Dont look up" a go. Or MoonFall.
Moonfall is cheesy bad, but, BUT.... genuinely the cgi looks pretty lit. The overall craziness of the story does make some cool scenimatic destruction sequences
Deep impact, Geostorm, Greenland, San Andres, omg I freaking loooooooove disaster movies. Idk why, I just love the "helpless" feeling of man vs nature.
Jaoan can do all the crazy cool monster movies. But America's "equivalent" to man vs nature is all these big action packed disaster movies. 😅😂
