Wish we still got arcade racers like this. Developer's seem to have a fascinating on making every as realistic as possible these day's.

I agree with you. The last racing game that I was genuinely excited for was Split/Second and that was on PS3/XB360 over a decade ago.
SEGA should put out a compilation disk for current consoles with all the arcade versions of past racing games. I’ve always wanted to play this game, as well as Daytona USA 2 at home in its proper form. Come on SEGA! 😔

@@maxisproducer I've been emulating arcade version of all these games, along with a driving force GT wheel, sega model 3 like scud race I can upscale to 1440p, has widescreen and forcefeedback support. Worth looking into building yourself a little emulation machine if those games you listed intrest you, along with a decent forcefeedback wheel and there ya have it :) Oh and btw Daytona USA was on XBLA, that also has wheel support and works on Xbox One as well :)
@@maxisproducer 110% Agree. Stick em all on a double BluRay SE as Sega New Ages - Racing Edition - with the 2nd BluRay as a developer notes extras like the old GameWorks book :-)

Japanese interpretation of American culture is just the most brilliant and weird thing to see.
Sega should make a Batocera style hdmi dongle featuring all Naomi, Chihiro and Lindhberg games which you can literally plug into the back of smart tv with two xbox 360 controllers. Their late 90s to mid 2000 arcade games are just phenomenal!!

What do you mean? It was released in the United States and Canada.
In 2015, I saw two of these machines at Cineplex' Conestoga Mall Theater in Waterloo, Ontario, and even decided to give a shot at those.
@@Bammer2001 Those may have been imported cabs. I don't think this game actually got an actual release locally. Sega's arcade marketing in in the west is a lot weaker than in Japan.

We need a Sega arcade racing compilation for consoles and PC. Like a whole compendium devoted to each decade. I would buy that in a heartbeat.
The gfx soundand gameplay are so cool only a mad man won't allow this to be experienced on consoles or PC

Definite Outrunners vibe to it, though as someone else said the course layouts are shockingly simplistic. It's wild that this was Yu Suzuki's last game for Sega.
yeah the tracks were simple, but it almost feels the challenge comes from the handling model instead of navigation
FUN FACT: This was Yu Suzuki's last arcade game with Sega before he retired from the company.

There's something slightly off about the speed sensation in this game. The meter will say something like 150km/h, and it will feel like 100km/h at most. Other than that, everything looks and feels amazing about this game

sega made the best games and consoles. sadly it never really came around that way. if sega once aggain anounces a good concept for a console then it would outsell sonys next playstation 2 to 1.

i do ;). sega once stumped nintendo and nintendo stumps sony. i have to say that sony playstation is a really great brand thought,but the over saturated market of shooter -_-. it's diffrent these days for sure.

in pure numbers, sony can't afford a misstep as of yet, the playstation brand is keeping sony from going under. Nintendo on the other hand has billions and billions of dollers and even out the mistake called wiiu with just a pokemon Go hyp., Nintendo is back to the point where they started winning the competition, and Nintendo is Always been doing their own thing, they're stubborn yet not predictable. Gues why so many still love the sega saturn and dreamcast, it's because sega did something else then the rest.

このレースゲームは本当に良かった。当時2008年は湾岸と頭文字Dのアーケード革命ができていて･･･。まぁ今でもそうなんだが。大体車好きな連中はドレスアップと遊びやすさしか目を向けないからねー、そんなこんなで殆どのレースゲームが死滅した中セガ特有のセンスを持ったこのゲームが登場した時は「ありがとう」と言いましたね！近場のイオンにあったんだけど、すぐになくなっちゃったね･･･。今、日本のアーケードレースゲームは非常に面白くないです。また、この様なゲームが世の中に出てくれればと思っています。最近まぁスーパーGTを題材としたセガのアーケードが出て、まさにセガツーリンカーチャンピオンシップたるものの復活や！と嬉しく思っておりますね！でも湾岸と頭文字Dはしねーわ

Hi there. Thanks for the video. How do you unlock the fifth stage? On my lindbergh I only race three races and then game over. No option for this in the service mode either what I can see. Would love to play it. Thanks.
+Crill Katt Thanks for your comment. You have to choose one of the other routes. Every route has his own tracks.

You can change it in the BIOS.
Just because the presentation is all flashy doesn't make it a good game. The course routes seem to be overly simplistic, almost NASCAR-esque, but without the big crashes.
