  • It's time to make the roof for the DIY Wood Shed and we're even going to tile it. The whole project has been done with upcycled pallets and wood left over from the main house renovation project.

Hi, I'm Suzi a 50 plus woman who has made roots in Monsanto, Central Portugal where I am currently renovating what was an abandonned stone house and land into my dream off-grid homestead. I share new episodes documenting my projects and life here in Portugal every Sunday and I'd love you along for the journey. I've recently been joined by my partner Georges. We have no idea what we are doing but we learn by trying.

I love how creatively wood pallets can be used to build so many things.
Great first effort at this new skill to add to your arsenal Suzi 🌟

If you tear the mint leaves it permeates the tea better.

Isnt it just lovely to have a good looking man around to share the chores! He is blooming, good food, hair cut and shine! now It s your turn for a good Spring trim! Takes the heaviness away and with a nice swinging pony tail, or pretty alice band and ones hair feels soo Springy! Old ends gone! One looks younger as well with a bob, long or short. Be brave...😅

Should the roof not slope the other way so the water drains in front of the wood not down the wall ?

With my luck these days, I would have let Georges cut the boards with the saw. lol. He did a fantastic job.

Bom Dia! With your gray water issue, I am not sure if it is just backing up from the clean out box or you have a broken pipe. If it's not a broken pipe, you should be able to clean it out. In the U.S., we call it a snake, but I believe you refer to it as a drain auger in the U.K. You should be able to feed it down through from under the sink or feed it up from the outside. That is where I would start before digging up ground. Just a thought.

HELLO. TODAY I'M GOING TO LEAVE ANOTHER TIP. HONEY IS A NATURAL PRODUCT, IT DOES NOT HAVE AN EXCELLENT SWEETENER EXPIRY DATE, BUT THERE IS 1 MISTAKE THAT IS MADE. USING A METAL SPOON MAKES IT LOSE THE ENZYMES THEY CONTAIN! A WOODEN OR PLASTIC SPOON MUST BE USED! NEVER THE METAL ONE. HUGS

Where will all the water fall? Will you have a gutter to guide it?

I like the way it looks, but I too am concerned about all the water the roof will capture and put against the stone wall and behind the stacked wood.

It is acceptable to use grey water in the gardens so no different in letting go in soak away both are the same at the end of the day

@@josechapman7611 I'm a plumber and it's not acceptable 😂....number 1 your damaging the environment,2 the soap and such will not soak away and block it up.
