Just as a bit of extra info, I went into the works recently because of this sale and it turns out they they are swapping Boldmere out for Daler-Rowney which is why they are selling all the Boldmere products so cheaply. So when its gone, there wont be any more. I would highly recommend popping in. I managed to get 12 sheets of 300GSM watercolour paper for £2.50! Thanks very much for the video Gemma, I always enjoy watching these!
That's really interesting! Thanks for letting me know. I wonder what Daler-Rowney range they will stock, if it will be like for like student grade? The sale they have on at the moment is really good! Thank you, I really appreciate you watching 😊
I like the art material to practice as I'm early on my art journey. Their 6 C-size envelopes for £1 are great for selling CDs individually. Smith's are over double that for 1!
Thanks I have all the brushes you showed and the paper cutter also the silicone shaper tool things, I agree about the paints, they are not the best for painting with but maybe gel printing of other crafts they may be ok….. I have used their gesso b4 that was ok 👍….. I didn’t know they had these mindful journals so I’m going to have to take a look at those next time I’m near a works which will probably be tomorrow lol….. Have a great day anyone reading! 💕
I was in the works just today buying a couple of toys for my little one. I didn't realise they had a sale. I will go back 😋 I have those alcohol markers and I like them. I also like they canvases a lot 😁
I haven't been much into art really but saw the boldmere range was being cleared out and reduced & couldn't resist buying a bunch of it. Willow charcoal was cut from £4 to £1. I got various charcoal blocks, acrylic paint, charcoal pencils, brushes etc. All half price. Okay, the quality is basic I guess but it has gotten me into trying out a few different art media which is good for someone like me who doesn't have a handle on what they prefer. I'm finding myself gravitating to the charcoal at the mo.
It's such a good time to buy art supplies in there! It's a great way to buy a lot and explore the mediums to see what you like and dislike. Enjoy experimenting 😊
Daler Rowney and Boldmere are terrible I've tried their coloured pencils and they were ghastly same with bolstered!!! All their paints and everything are terrible. Their paintbrushes are not bad but as its the only shop that sells art supplies for miles and miles I wish they would stock half decent supplies. Our works is quite small and it's mostly kids stuff. I think your right if your just starting out or in a pinch these supplies are ok
I'm not a fan of their paints, so transparent. I know quite a few of my students like shopping there, as it's affordable for them and suits their level of experience. It would be great if they would sell artist quality products, as like you say, they're often the only 'art' shop around for miles. That's why I rely on Jackson's online for most of my restocks.
I hope they get Daler Rowney Aquafine products in as they are really good value for money - I like the watercolour, gouache and watercolour paper from that range. Strange that they move away from their own brand while Rymans are just introducing their own new brand of “artist” materials.

if they are switching to daler-rowney that could be a good thing, might mean better student quality supplies

Great haul video, some amazing bargains there 😊
I couldn't believe how many bargains I managed to find!

Great to know their gesso is good, I'll have to try it. I recommend the journals, they're really good ☺
So many bargains! I personally really like the Crawford + Black canvas boards and 230gsm watercolour pad, they're pretty decent for the price!
I couldn't believe it when I saw the prices! I've never tried their canvas boards before, thanks for the recommendation 😊

I will pop in to get the brushes - great for acrylic art!
They're great paint brushes to have on hand!
I got the paper cutter on your recommendation.
I hope you enjoy it!
@@GemmaMorganArt Love your videos btw. I spent a bit in the works mostly on the drawing side.

Their paintbrushes are pretty good and I've been pleased with their watercolour tubes as well
Aquafine tubes are great, lots of single pigment colours
