- Here we're talking about my new favorite powered DJ speaker. It is a 1400 watt active 2-way 12" speaker with a 2.5" voice coil. In this video, I also compare it to the JBL SRX815p.

Great review. Keep these coming!
Wow super informative! Was on the fence about this speaker too
Awesome review man. Sorry to hear about your blown speaker!
Great video. looking forward to more content.
Great review! I see those cinematic angles.
I got a new camera lol. This video is proof how much better it is than what I was using before. More content on the way!
Great speaker and great review. RCF stuff is unbeatable. I agree with you 100% that these are much more handy than the SRX815p (which I own as well). These get super loud and remain clearer than most other speakers I own or have tested. I am thinking about picking up a pair of their cousins the TT22A.
I have a pair of TT 10-A and they are phenomenal. NX series is already great, but TT takes it a notch higher.
Always have a good digital mixer that you can have gate and compression on the channel to place it on the signal- in this case, the microphone!
This speaker doesn't have the "sub mode" because all RCF subwoofers come with built in crossovers, so had you been using RCF subs, there wouldn't be a problem.
Right, but RCF is the only brand that I'm aware of that does this. It's like Apple and their lightning connector. Works good, until you wish they just did it the same way as everyone else.
@@ExcellenceSoundKrew RCF is not the only brand that does this. QSC does this too and some other brands. RCF subs are the best though.
In 25 years of sound engineering I've never heard anyone say they blew a mains speaker with a vocal mic.
Sounds like you didn't leave any overhead in your gain staging and ran them too hot, if that's not the case than that's a pretty terrible and frankly unacceptable endorsement for drivers that could fail just from a shouty singer...
Solution to your speaker blowing problem...use compressor/limiter. Should be available in you Qsc mixer
Add a DBX Driverack PA2 to have more control over the limiting and protecting your system, I highly recommend it
He said he is using the QSC Touchmix 8 so no need for the Driverack as it already has a full DSP built in.
What do you usually keep your gain/volume running on the back of your RCF speakers? I've read conflicting answers on this, from people saying they keep it at "unity" to others saying they keep it at 2-3 and some in the extreme saying they keep it running wide open.
I keep mine at about 2-3. Works and sounds good at that level imo.
1/2 seems to be good for headroom with my mixer
per rcf always on max
Watch this video bud
HI thank you a lot. Do you think one nx32 plus a sub, is enough for 100 ppl? I need it for dancing loud music
I’ll take 2! For mobile small gigs
Plenty
The singer like that you should always have a hard compressor or limiter on his vocal channel hitting about 20 to 30% of the time is how I would set the threshold
Good to know. I haven't had a situation like this since, but if I ever do, I'll keep this in mind.
Have you tried Turbosound IQ Series?
Using the QSC K12 for the last 12 years, it is virtually impossible to blow a speaker. there is too much DSP built in. I'm curious how that can even happen with all the limiting protection built in tp these boxes. I use JBL SRX 715 passives (EPIC BOXES!!!) now and my smaller rig is with the K12. I use subs on both set ups.(JBL DRIVERACK) I'm looking for the best sounding 12 " speaker I can find to replace the tired K12s, Preferably one that i can do very small gigs WITHOUT a sub and just eq in some more low end, if they can handle it. i also recently switched to the Behringer FLOW8 which is a godsend for it size and power. I put it right on top of my piano for easy access- I am a singer performer-HYBRID DJ.
The NX32 will blow the K12s out of the park no question there. I am surprised I managed to blow the speaker too. This might be my first blown speaker in almost 10 years... and I'm STILL waiting on replacement parts from Full Compass!
I wish I could find some. Everyone is out of stock.
I worked for a company that sold and installed a lot of Qsc speakers… We had 30ish k12s in our mobile and rental fleet and they are almost impossible to kill but sound harsh when you push them. The kw 152s would get hurt constantly lots of replacement amps. I can also say I watched 4 of 6 vrx cabs blow the second time they went out. It’s far more difficult now to hurt stuff but not impossible. The most common failure I’ve seen with my company is magnets shearing in transport.
dude get you a rcf 905 or 705 and connect two of those to it, youll have the x-over at 100hz automaticly!
Yea I know, but I like the NX32s more. I actually have the New ART945a's now too. I need to get a review of them up ASAP!
@@ExcellenceSoundKrew He meant to say get the RCF 905 sub that has cross over XLR output, that way the sub can be set to only send everything above 100 Hz to the top.
Most powered subs have a xover output for the tops. Unless you wana use an aux sub. But yea they shud put a filter on those tops for what they be costing smh.
@@ExcellenceSoundKrew How do the ART 945's comapre to the NX's. Which one do you prefer? I have the RCF ART 912a's but I am thinking about switching over to the NX 912a. I miss the warmth from a wooden cabinet, not to mention not always needing to bring a sub for smaller events.
Have you looked at the RCF TT speakers?
Yes. I don't own them though to do a review. They're great. I did a party with them as monitors and the JBL VRX line arrays as the mains. I wish they used the TTs as mains instead!
I have a pair of RCF TT 10-As. They are next lever above the NX line. Absolute little monsters, will easily outscream most 12 inchers while delivering audiophile level quality.
Too much gain would blow any speaker.........
These are ok but they don't compare to the NX45, ART945 or HDM45...
I'm considering the NX45 to add next.
The 32 sounds better than the 45, unless one is looking for lots of bass, put the 32’s with a sub and you’re good to go.
