Absolutely love that you took the time to talk about the different riddim styles and how OG riddim is different from what’s coming out lately.
much love
5:50 THANK YOU i've been waiting for someone to bring attention to using proper drums in their choons! definitely hear too many people using your typical brostep snares or vr kickclaps while trying to make og riddim, and im super glad you've shown what types of drums/claps are normally used!
I have no idea how to make OG riddim claps, unfortunately
So does many people
Hahaha bigups for showing my tune with Infekt, also you nailed it explaining the sound differences man. Respect!
much love! you're one of my all time favorite artists, still rinse that tune to this day
more reason tutorials
I agree more malstrom!! This is amazing
when I read "real riddim" I thought you actually meant real riddim, like the beats popularized in Jamaica.
i understand the confusion, the term riddim used for dubstep was plagiarized from Jamaican music and has been used to refer to a specific style of dubstep since around 2012
@@BRIKZDUBZ 2011*
😂
the edm community has this thing about taking the names of genres and appropriating them. take Trap for example. lol when I was first introduced to "riddim" and "trap" I was thrown off too
real riddim baby
oh shit hey yoni, prob dont remember me but we played some shows together forever ago in the santa cruz area, hope you've been well!
I do remember! Hell yeah man, just found your channel and it's great content.@@BRIKZDUBZ
Need more of these tutorials
Just recently bought Reason For the rack and I LOVE IT
i have zero interest in how to get a certain sound, so to speak.... but i love the depth of explanation. i've been using reason for a long time and i learned some stuff from you! subbed and go you!
amazing video brother thank you for making this. ive been trying to find that riddim sound for literally 6 years, been tryna make it with serum. just recently heard of reason and your vid has rly helped put everything togeather. love what you make bro always loved the true og riddim sound you put out i remember hearing this shit for the first time in the club years ago and looking at all my boys and we all knew we were listening to the new wave. you put it perfectly riddim is such a blanket term now.......
much love!
as a house producers came to riddim tutorial, the "riddim" and isn't for me is like comparing the satsujin r.i.d.d.i.m and virtual riot - pray for riddim,
those track almost had the same complexity of pattern in some bars but the sounds is totally different haha.
bless
big up! real riddim hrs
thank you for your insight
yo this is a dope tutorial
i appreciate it
Plz make more reason / Malstrom tutorials
dope video :)
Could you do more maelstrom vids?
I have a pretty easy way for categorizing dubstep versus riddim, at least, as far as the confines of how it makes me feel and what type of vibe it gives off.
Quite simply put, I have never heard a random song that didn’t make me want to bounce back-and-forth from one side to the other, riddim always has a four on the floor kick or snare hit and the sub is usually hitting quarter notes also..
also obviously the classic riddim square fm or saw fm; which btw almost every svdden death song has in it along with the hi hat triplets and similar drum tuning; however i don’t get that bouncy feeling from it so i guess it’s borderline… I feel like a lot of dubstep/riddim producers are making both nowadays and the lines can be blurry; that being said, i agree that there is definitely a huge difference between OG riddim and modern day tearout/brostep/whatever…
Just my humble perspective tho
😊
Hey my cameo appearance on a brikz video
Appreciate the discussion on og vs modern riddim. Would you catagorize artists like Marauda and Emorfik Riddim? Those are the two DJ's I would describe as my favorite riddim artists
i would say they make "tearout" but not riddim, their both some of my fav artists aswell
Marauda don't make anything close to riddim 💀💀

I've heard people refer to the slightly less repetitive more aggressive tracks as "briddim", as in a combination of brostep elements with riddim-like drum sequencing.
WUBZ YA!!!!
Is there a way to get the reason rack on its own without buying the whole reason package?
thank you brikz
Helps alot thanks G!
AMAZINGG THANK UUUUUU
what a good tutorial
Other very good og riddim songs are your collaborations with BAD DUBZ.
greetings from Mexico
Thanks!!
Im trying to follow the original malstrom combinator stuff, but it's not sounding right. Idk what I'm doing wrong here
Did you reset the device? if you follow the same settings on the patch that i have it should sound the same
@@BRIKZDUBZ yes, I reset the device.
To me, everything that sounds like dubstep but has a drum pattern like this: KICK - SNARE/KICK - KICK - SNARE/KICK, is riddim. Dumbstep usually just have a slowed down breakbeat type drum pattern.
bro I'm getting midi delay after adding the ddl1? so I need delay compensation
you can consolidate to audio and place the audio back a bit... i dont personally get delay from the reason delay, so not sure whats causing that
How did you get reason rack in FL?
it comes with the reason plus subscription
nice
Sikkk!!!!
awesome tutorial man. any advice for subs?
i can tryn make a tutorial on how i make my subs soon
teach me how to download and install reason in fl studio please
Reason already has a great guide for this here: ruclips.net/video/-UzF9z1ZI7E/видео.html
How/Where can I get the Reason Rack Plugin?
it comes with the reason plus subscription
I always used riddim as a term for basically repetitive dubstep.
name of vst
Reason rack plugin
its actually og riddim
Riddim starts for rhythm. It’s from Jamaica. It’s all about the groove which is drums, the drums make the song riddim which is a kick clap combo, not the sound design. There are many different types of riddim
yesnt
The drum pattern makes a song riddim rather than the speed of the mid basses. Just cause the sound design sounds wet and is a square wave doesn’t make it riddim
i love that trench is a thing so now i dont have to say "real riddiim"
thanks for the assist with reason im having a lot of fun
