As someone who's been treated by many psychologists and having been declared psychologically healthy after 4 appointments with my last psychologist... I understand almost everything in this video, except some technical stuff 😅 I'm not very advanced at technical music terms, as I just started producing... Don't even have anything yet 😅 (except some lyrics, and a small amount of experimental beats) but that'll come! Once I invest enough time! Need a license for a DAW first! ❤ Love these videos! the fact that every minor key shares it's keys with a major key shows there's definitely a bit of writing talent that needs to go into creating that emotion too, but good tips
One thing I would add onto this is the contrast between writing melodies and achieving consonance: while scales serve as a 'secret trick' to unlock consonance, a clear and teachable concept, there's no equivalent secret in creating incredible melodies. It comes from an explorative process and personal expression, rather than a singular, teachable formula. I've heard many times online from people who watch deadmau5 stream that he just moves midi notes up and down until they work haha. Music theory helps but it's mainly about patience and putting the time into it. Also we had a similar moment there when you played The Veldt. I love how music can envoke that kind of response.
