When I was starting, I wanted to avoid Ky because of the idea that he's easy or "the" beginner character. Now I've tried him and I really like him. I like his different tools and setting up charged stun edge feels really good.
These vids are really helpful, good stuff I'm perpetually on floor 6/7 because the players I'm running into are doing very easy to counter things, usually, and it takes me a while to realize what I need to do. When I learn to adapt faster, I'll stop winning 2 games and then losing 1! Thanks again, man

Either your blood burst happens in the middle of a combo and you drop the combo, or it happens in neutral and the opponent can usually just raw super you for free, since blood burst stuns you for like a second and leaves you completely open. Aside from that he's an insanely strong zoning / pressure character thanks to his fucking huge sword basically like sephiroth from smash
Not a beginner tip but I also wanna add backdashing out of people's blockstrings. I was playing Gio dittos all day and I found out that a lot of the plus on block special moves she does can just be backdashed after to make them whiff the followup. I wonder if this applies to other characters...
I never remember how important this is. I wanna stress to anyone that sees this comment. Do it and try to remember. Backdashing helps A LOT. In older games there was literal invincibility attached to it. I dont know if this applies to new GG but even without invinc you can still get out of sticky situations.

I grew up on GGXX and never really got into Xrd cuz of life and timing, and this is exactly the kinda video i need, something explaining the important mechanics in Strive and how they may be different from past GGs or ArcSys games. Please do more if you can, I would love a video really breaking down the mechanics and explaining them, like the new gatling/combo possibilities.

You will get familiar with other players combo routes the more you see them, assuming they can do them It's stuff you can learn (not exclusively) by experience
Once you get used to the characters and can see what they can do, you know when to burst. 2p>2p>6p starter? No burst since its low ass damage. Counter hit 6HS? I am b u r s t i n g
Really good point actually. Took this for granted. Generally, in this game you don't get full combos off punches or kicks. Some chars (like Millia) get no damage of 5k 2d, but get a super strong follow up after so you want to burst there. If you get hit by a slash or heavy slash, or get hit in the corner, damage is def coming so aim to burst there. Over time you'll get familiar with chars and will know when to burst.
@@LordKnightfgc its good to burst in the corner except when fighting against ram. I've caught so much players with the explosion because they try to escape the corner combos 😂😂
Could you perhaps make a beginner- intermediate Millia guide for new players? Individual content for the characters are pretty lacking and her dustloop page is currently pretty sparce in terms of knowledge. Would be cool to see.
I'm really sad playing DBFZ online for a while, just have a terrible night against people using horrible connections, Rqing, using triple C assist and basically no brain mashing every time possible, SDash and Lv3 with Gojetas, Zbully, Sbully, Vejito and UI llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll every day ... all day, punish is REALLY hard because of lag spikes, but also because i'm tilted af or people doing the same strats, i really wanna play, have fun and adapt, not play to counter strats that win more online.... Do you think using seperate buttons for macros like RC or Burst is worth it or should I learn to use the button combination? With Dust and the Dash Button all of my buttons are decked out and I hate using the two button on the very right. Stick btw, in case it wasn't clear.
I have two mains. Sol and Faust. Faust is the only reason I got the game. If I want to play seriously I pick Sol. If I want to just be random and silly, just have fun and laugh as my Avatar gets hit by his own items, I play Faust.

I'd say buy at least the Mayflash F300 elite or the 8BitDo arcade stick. If you want to drive into modding with tournament grade parts later, you can buy the Mayflash F300 that sells for around 50 bucks

I'm hoping the new DLC character gets revealed is good and interesting enough to play otherwise as LordKnight said quit playing the game which will suck because the ultimate edition cost a fortune. I'm just coming back to fighting games after being away from them since 2005 and the game I played was Darkstalkers a lot so if that gives you any idea's for recommended characters to help me stay in the game then reply with a comment here.
I submit one legitimate situation for asking who to play, when you're extremely new but have an idea mechanically what kind of character you like from other games. For example "What are the defensive characters?" or "I'm interested in zoning characters". This kind of question is best fielded to a large audience like a Twitch Chat or Discord, I wouldn't suggest asking this of a streamer unless they're taking questions because you don't want to bog down an entertainer down with a discussion about your personal taste.
assign all characters to a number and roll a die with that many numbers. If you don't agree with the result, go with the one you actually subconsciously wanted

If you wanna charge mid combo, do so with two moves, such as K>2D>dolphin or cS>2H>dolphin.

Fight sticks aren’t something you should cheap out because long term you will probably need to replace it. Save up some money for a good one

Chip is the fastest. Zato is very mobile but not necessarily fast.
