@@seagypsybnbmy thoughts exactly!! My Dad and I have been collecting coins from here in the U.S., as well as coins around the world ever since I was a child. But my point is we have US pennies dating 1900, 1901, 1902, and so on, all the way up to the 1940s. Some of them, and I mean only some, have the special marking. And we found that those early pennies are still not even worth what he said his were. Hey, I'm not saying that this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, but I have never seen ones like that that were that expensive. Especially without the marking(s).
We new coin collectors. What books should we read or what video should we watch to be up to speed as a current coin collector. Let's say you have a penny. You get it graded. Do you go to the auction or a collector to sell it? Or eBay? Do you need it graded before selling?

As a young coin collector , the fact that Chinese counterfeiters are cranking out all sorts of collector coins that are not marked "copy" should be upsetting also. Have a look on aliexpress . And, yes...the photos show coins clearly marked "copy" , but the ones they actually sell are not always marked in any way .
@@southernfried714 This was documented on a "60 minutes" show probably 20 years ago. I actually have an 1877 Indian head penny, slabbed, in a VF-30 condition. Worth around US$2,000. And there are many coins with a crazy value. @@musiccitysceneonscreenshow9315 you can send your coins to be graded. I'd recommended either PCGS or NCG. A quick Google search to their respective websites will walk you through how to do it all. When you mail your stuff, take the insurance just in case. I've never had an issue, but I don't want $1k+ coins potentially getting lost. But you'll be looking at around $125-$150 per coin to be slabbed. Turn around time can vary. Anywhere from ~1month to upwards of 4-5months. But that's how I/many people have done it and I've never had an issue.
Actually the 82 penny is supposed to be 3.11 grams give or take. 83 is supposed to be 2.5 but there's been some found that was still struck on copper that's 3.11 that's worth 10,000 and up really, but the 1982 D small date Penny is supposed to be on zink, but one or two has been found weighing 3.1 grams on copper, and they can be anywhere from 30,000 up. And it doesn't even matter what condition or if you even get it graded or not. If you find either one of them two, then you got a chunk of change in your hand

Can I sell you the same coins, with errors, and graded, for half of those prices please?! 1982 they made both copper and the new metal composition. 1983 d look for 3.11g copper cent. Small Date!...... Anything before 1982 is copper except for the 1943 Steelie cents??!?! Quarters are were still made with copper an zinc. Probably save you time and make more by stacking pre '65 silver coins bruh 🙄
The values he is claiming is for graded, uncirculated, with certain variations that are rare. These, in this condition are worth no more than a penny each..
Also ..the values don't exist even on uncirculated. People have proof sets in mass production...would be mint inside the encasement. The production of mint sets wouldn't allow ANY penny in the 80s to be worth anything (exception of major error on it)
I don't understand why these specific coins that you show, are "collective." Low mintage, key dates, wrong planchets. Looking at the coins, I don't think they'd grade at an MS condition. Just being honest, I don't know if they'd even be considered an AU or FS which would help value. It's about condition, if collectable, as well. I wouldn't touch a 10k cent without gloves!? Why aren't they in protective cases. Get them graded and see.... 🤙🏼 Happy hunting

But my point is we have US pennies dating 1900, 1901, 1902, and so on, all the way up to the 1940s. Some of them, and I mean only some, have the special marking.
Those dates can possibly bring that much, and possibly more. But rest assured, those coins, in those conditions, are worth 1 cent each.
Before 1982 they’re copper and worth about 2-3 cents
Actually the 82 penny is supposed to be 3.11 grams give or take. 83 is supposed to be 2.5 but there's been some found that was still struck on copper that's 3.11 that's worth 10,000 and up really, but the 1982 D small date Penny is supposed to be on zink, but one or two has been found weighing 3.1 grams on copper, and they can be anywhere from 30,000 up. And it doesn't even matter what condition or if you even get it graded or not. If you find either one of them two, then you got a chunk of change in your hand
