I also tried one from a local retailer, but it didn't have the force to suck anything. I suspect the piston spring. It was also dampened as you show in the video.
I ordered this and worked for a few times, but sadly the rubber ring around the plunger went bad and can no longer plunge quickly. I tried plunging without it but it didnt work. I bought a hakko fr 301 instead
Hi CK, do you know where I can get a replacement seal for this please. It’s the blue seal under the chamber sealing the chamber to the nozzle part what’s the proper name for it?
Hm. It's not a standard o-ring, it's a molded piece of silicon, so no off-the-shelf replacement, probably only available through Yihua. I couldn't find it, might be best to post a question on the product page, they seem to be quick to respond.
Nice review, I have ordered it lot cheaper on Aliexpress - after a full test, I will upgrade the power cable to flex silicone high heat resistance one. I have also ordered a cheap duratool 40w sucker. I will be doing comparison.
I think you'll like it, I've found it to be a real time saver, it just sucks solder right up. Though it does take a while to get to operating temperature. The 40w would be interesting, I'll take a look at it.
@CKHaun I received the Duratool sucker; nozzle x1 only but larger 2mm diameter ( good for taken out larger components) but the good news are the nozzles of Yihua fits perfectly. Duratool has thicker power cable, stronger suction and heats up quicker(40w - 30% more power) For me Duratool wins. I think you should do a review, a comparison against Yihua.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I *think* I've got one of these on order, getting the brand name right on these bargain basement things is sometimes hard, but it was half the price of the Yihua so I think so. Should have a video on it up in a week or so.
Yikes, I just tried the one I bought (not duratool brand) and it came both used and cord damaged, and didn't work at all, will be sending it back. I'll still keep an eye out for the duratool one. Video up tomorrow (or today, if I'm not lazy).
Thanks, C.K. 👍
I've been looking for one of these and could not decide on which one 😉
I think you'll love it. Used it last night on a "real" project and again, de-soldered no fuss in an instant.
Looks pretty good as long as one keeps fingers out of the way!
I burn my fingers daily, gotten to the point that I don't really mind any more....
Glad you like it, ordered one a few days ago. £10 delivered from Ali Express. I have a Yihua Soldering Station which works well for me.
This will be a great complement to that solder station.
@@CKHaun Yes I'm sure it will be.

That's too bad! Just so you know, I just bought a similar device at half the price from Amazon, I'll give it a try this weekend and post the video.

That’s too bad, glad the Hakko is working out though. Thanks for stopping by!
@CKHaun great video man!
Thank you!
I bought it like...6 months ago and don't use it that much works awesome but toataly agree, great video CK
Thanks! Yeah, it's one of those tools you don't need often, but when you do it's great to have such a good oe at hand.

@@CKHaun I had written an email to them no response yet
If they respond, please post here so we have a record of this for others!

Are all the nozzels the same size ?
No, the nozzles are slightly different diameters. One smaller, one larger, than the installed one.
@@CKHaun are the tips available separarately ?? if so .....thats cool
That I do not know. You might want to ask on the Amazon product page, they may be monitoring and answering.
No it is pronounced Solder NOT Sodder.!!!
Truly regional. I’m a victim of my Jersey upbringing pronunciation.
Did a lieutenant tell you that or a colonel?
Amazon shops is not direct from manafacture is third party sellers useing the brand name has a shop dodgy amazon
SUPER dodgy! ;)
