I never got the chance to play pikmin 1 before, but I loved playing pikmin 2 when it came out on the gamecube I was around 4 years old, and it's just a big part of my childhood since I also learned English while playing it. Then I found your channel when I was in high school and that inspired me to at least try to complete pikmin 2 with the less amount of deaths I could get each time I reply it. Throught the years, Pikmin turned to be one of my favorite series from all time, I enjoy these games so much that I just keep talking to my friends about them, and I'm just happy I can finally play the first 2 games on my switch.
I absolutely love the Pikmin series. I replay these games a lot, and it always brings me joy. The games are charming, the music is really good and I like the strategic thinking that is needed for this game. And just doing a lot of things in an area and collecting stuff is so satisfying 😊
I love the pikmin series! I've finished de pikmin 3 deluxe 100% with your help and i really apreciate your work!! I have only to finished Submerged Castle and Drem Deen to finish pikmin 2 100%, but, it was only with your help that i could not being with fear to continue playing! I love you and your videos hawlo😻
I love these little guys; Pikmin are curious and intelligent and caring. They’re sweet and playful and they just need a little help from a captain Olimar. Their innocence and heartful trying nature made me fall in love with their efforts. The music of the first game emulating loneliness so strongly as well leads to this sense of intimacy to the Pikmin. You quickly grow connected to them through the dressing of the game (and being your only way off the planet!) . I just beat the game with 50 lost and I would love to go for 0 lost Pikmin. My first run of the game had me with 600 lost out of 800 and I was completely inconsolable during the ending with how devastated I was. Never a game has made me feel so awful for what is essentially letting a single unit die in a RTS. Seeing this video is a relief - I love the Pikmin! I love this run of the game! Thank you so much for making this!
I like Pikmin, but I've never beaten a game before. I have a red pikmin plush that I've owned since a child, but I only learned about the game series after my uncle introduced me to Pikmin 3 on the Wii U. I actually got Pikmin 3 Deluxe on the switch, but I've never made it past Day 4. Then I thought, "What if I looked at how the game was supposed to be played?" Lo and behold, I found your channel. Your style of commentary is both engaging and non-intrusive. You showed me the Pikmin series as it was meant to be shown. And after seeing your walkthroughs and playing the demo for Pikmin 4 myself, I've decided I'm going to try to beat Pikmin 2 for myself (I would do 1, but after waying the pros and cons, I think I'd have a better time with 2). Thank you so much, and keep being awesome!
Yesterday I reached this months goal at my job and it kinda felt like Olimar getting all his parts before time ran out. Pikmin is and always will be one of my top 3 games of all time
Despite being the last one I played in the series, pikmin 1 is my favorite for so many reasons. The sense of exploration was the best as the areas, despite being small, felt so big! Unlike the other games, the collectibles felt more personal and important as in the second game, you are just trying to pay off the companies debt and in the third, you only hear about the lack of food. (Maybe if you got emails or messages about the necessity to finish your mission it would be better to me? Idk) in pikmin 1, Olimar is clearly knowledgeable about almost every peice of his beloved Dolphin and the sense of loneliness and inhospitable atmosphere really makes the ship feel like a friend that keeps Olimar safe at night when the Pikmin can't. Speaking of, something the other two games didn't really capture for me was that sense of "This planet is dangerous!" For one, the second game has infinite time for the crew to go back to Hocotate and restock and in the third, the crew talk a good chunk about making it a resort or how nice the planet is. In pikmin 1, you clearly are not supposed to stay there and the game makes you feel that. All of that being said, I still adore the other two games very much but 1 has stood out as the best to me with the way that every pikmin feels incredibly useful (even yellows as compared to pikmin 2 and 3 reds) the atmosphere, and even the story feeling very small and personal. (Olimar talking about his family made me just want to beat the game faster) to top it all off, we have Pikmin going after a Bulborb in the end! It's just an amazing game and definitely my favorite to watch people speedrun. There's something satisfying about watching areas be beaten in one day...but nothing more satisfying than a deathless playthrough.
Not only that, but in Pikmin 2, you kinda just end up collecting the rest of the treasures in the *second half* of the entire game. We do end up having to save Louie, but the game just decides not to end and forces you to collect treasures in very frustrating methods.
@iamlonely5276 The only treasure I didn't like was the doomsday apparatus just because you have to go out of your way to get more purples even if you get violet candypop bud in the game normally. At least Loui's notes are pretty funny
Awww this was soo quick, i really like the Pikmin series, it’s such a refreshing franchise which for me makes it stand out from other Nintendo games especially!
I really like pikmin! I used to watch my brother play it on the gamecube, and i've always loved the contrast between weird fun and colorful creatures against a realistic background, it always felt so unique! I never had the courage to play it myself though because i'd feel so bad to see the pikmin die from my mistakes😭 but it's always a joy for me seeing other people play it! Thanks for bringing it again your channel!
While I'm not a fan, I've always wanted to see a deathless, no commentary playthrough. This channel was one of the first suggestions that popped up, and I've been subscribed ever since, so thanks to you.
I obsessed over this game when I first heard its announcement. Still a very personal favorite of mine. I'll have to do a no-deaths run on this since I've done one for Pikmin2 already.
Honestly cool that of the mysterious onions that appear at the end, we now know the identities of all but the orange one. Pink is winged pikmin, black is rock pikmin, cyan is ice pikmin, and green is glow pikmin.
I fell in love with the Pikmin with the third installment of the game. After I finished that game, I wanted more! I got the game for switch and loved all the little improvements and pushed how good at the game I am, hitting as little as 11 days. When I was younger, my parents got me Pikmin 2 for the Wii and I really enjoyed that too, but I never finished it for some reason. Maybe it was because once I got my switch, it was getting harder and harder to turn it back on. I even got Hey! Pikmin and I enjoyed all the little cutscenes that flourished with Pikmin personality. I even Beat the game obtaining all the treasures (excluding amibo) and without losing a Pikmin in each of the stages! (The breadbugs were the hardest part) I'm ecstatic that the full trilogy and 4 will be out on switch. I will be playing each of these, and I promise, all those Pikmin I get will stay with me to the end. Not only that, but this video series showed how to do things effectively. Thank you Hawlo!
What brought me to pikmin? Well, surprisingly enough, i discovered it in the Wii U as my mother bought it for herself. It looked cool, but i was so atrocious i limited myself to watch her play. I helped here and there, and learned from it. Then, a few years later, i felt like i had nothing to play and saw it. After asking my mom if it was okay (because it would delete her finished save), i started my own journey! My first attempt was quite atrocious though (didnt get a lot of fruit and killed over 700 pikmin). Felt so guilty i promised myself to get better, and so i did, getting a zero death run shortly after! Yes' ive never played pikmin one or two, but ive seen playthroughs and, while they're neat, i dont think ill get them (cough, emulators, cough). In love with pikmin 4 demo as well
I started playing this series with Pikmin 3 and I eventually had the chance to play every Pikmin game. I had alot of fun playing each one and Pikmin is one of the games I repayed the most (Wii U Pikmin 3 surpasses this by FAR). Though Pikmin 2 is my favorite from the bunch, I completed it around 3 times. Now I'm playing the first game again on my Wii U (is the Wii version) before Pikmin 4 comes out. P.D.: Funnily enough, Pikmin is the only Pikmin game I didn't bothered to do a no-death run, mainly because of the crushing glitch (thank god it is not longer present in the Switch version) and the fact that I would be reseting even more than if I wouldn't try to do that.
I honestly had no idea what to think of Pikmin. I never paid too much attention to it. But your videos have surely made me want to give this game a try... Even though I don't own a single console to play and I don't intend to get a Switch anytime soon. Then again, there's always emulation.
The Emperor Bulblax music sounds like the final Bowser theme from Mario 64. 8:52 Well I guess we finally know what kind of Pikmin the Green and Light Blue colored Onions produce.
It’s very cool that Pikmin 1’s best ending foreshadowed Purple Pikmin, which got introduced in Pikmin 2 and later got their own Onion in Pikmin 4, foreshadowed Rock and Winged Pikmin, which were introduced in Pikmin 3 and also foreshadowed Ice and Glow Pikmin, which got introduced in Pikmin 4. But the Orange Onion we see in the best ending currently has no known Pikmin type, so maybe in a Pikmin 5, they could introduce an Orange Pikmin.
Extremely beautifully well done with this part, And now the Final Trial, and after a mighty battle you have won, Got all the parts and Got the Happy ending. It looks like the Pikmin do not fear the Dark anymore, now the predators should be scared. And that is very informative and also the Monster Reel, And also the Happy The End, Though i really look forward to the other things. And then after that. Comes Pikmin 2, if i got that right. Anyway keep doing amazing.
Overall, I do like it but I'm not too happy they made yellow Pikmin not drop their bomb rocks. Makes the final boss that much trickier to fight. On that note, when do you find is the best time to chuck a yellow at the Emperor Bulblax and have him swallow the bomb and not the Pikmin? Thought I had the rhythm down, until he ate my bombardier.
When I saw that pikmin 1 and 2 were coming to switch I had hoped you would play them again ^^ When you play pikmin 2 can you include the caves, just find it abit bothersome to watch another playlist
I got Pikmin 1 from a local pawn shop shortly after getting my GameCube back in 2002. I played it several times to completion, always refusing to let Pikmin die, because it felt like the game was too easy otherwise. My runs usually lasted about 23 days, IIRC. I thought it was just a fun, casual game that I could replay endlessly. Unfortunately, I never really got into Pikmin 2. The cave system put me off and I disliked how random a lot of the challenge felt. I also felt like Pikmin was a lot less “fun” without a day timer. I never beat it, despite getting the game Christmas of 2004. I plan on finally finishing it now that I own it on the Switch. Come hell or high water, I WILL beat Pikmin 2.

Congratulations on another victory! And having watched the game, I can understand why getting a No Death run is so challenging. Especially against the boss monsters. I’m also amazed that my anxiety level wasn’t as high as I feared. I remember seeing a clip from another Pikmin game that involved the party being hunted by something HUGE, and having to avoid searchlights. Does that sound familiar?
@@Hawlo could be a confusion with the boss mechanics from the winter area boss in Pikmin 3, think its called the Phosbat or smthn like that, where you have to light up the room and hide from it.
@@Hawlo And it’s possible I’m thinking of a different game with a similar strategy. My memory for games I haven’t actually played isn’t always reliable. 😅🤷
The first time i bought pikmin im gamecube version when i was 11 i never gotten beated the game cuz of the hard puzzle back, then after being 17 yr old i played it again and beat it on the gamecube version the difficult parts tbat kept annoying me about are the ships parts in forest navel the other piece the green gem it always bounce off and it never fall on the depth from the bug glitched, the exploring in distant spring was a pain in me cuz going around getting parts, avoiding enemies and defeating them, especially i once beat it and took its seed and gave red onion like 100 the emperor bublax was also a pain cuz back in the gamecube version i sometimes throw bomb pikmin in his mouth to blow up but the game was truly fun.
assuming certain details and what we've seen thus far, ice pikmin likel live in the cyan onion and luminous pikmin in the green also that the most successful pikmin species is winged considering the number of pink onions........ and makes sense, the only true danger is skyborn threats, anything else needs to catch them off guard or trap them with white and purple not being present since they are the only species that live below ground hey pikmin also demonstrates that pikmin can live without onions which also explains why they may not have onions, not much need for a flying biomachine when you live purely below ground and I think I figured out something at least the 100 limit may not be purely a game mechanic but a population preservation mechanic by the onion, pikmin park in hey and the shorts does show more than a hundred can be fielded........... in areas with few to no threats in the shorts only a single bulborb and pikmin park has no notable threats it's interesting to note the implications of details and the why's an example is that pikmin without onions are prone to groups of at minimum 4 members and only less in dire circumstances pikmin is a game to us but when you really start gazing at the details.............. well considering the details, something in universe might be aware of the players as indicated by the key.......... and i'm willing to bet on just exactly what is setting the game up
I think it adapts to your movements. It'll try to eat Pikmin if there's some in front of it, but if it takes too long then it'll just start jumping. Sadly baiting the tongue attack is the best way to deal damage to it if you're not going to stun it with bomb rocks :(

@@Hawlo oh yeah, definitely. If someone played it with a keyboard and beat it the way you did, they would have my total respect.
The Emperor Bulblax music sounds like the final Bowser theme from Mario 64.

"This is one of the games ever"
I liked how they added a shadow to Emperor Bulblax in an update
Excellent work on this. I plan on playing Pikmin 1, by learning from you
You beat the game in under 7 episodes
I got Pikmin 1 from a local pawn shop shortly after getting my GameCube back in 2002. I played it several times to completion, always refusing to let Pikmin die, because it felt like the game was too easy otherwise. My runs usually lasted about 23 days, IIRC. I thought it was just a fun, casual game that I could replay endlessly.
Unfortunately, I never really got into Pikmin 2. The cave system put me off and I disliked how random a lot of the challenge felt. I also felt like Pikmin was a lot less “fun” without a day timer. I never beat it, despite getting the game Christmas of 2004.

the 100 limit may not be purely a game mechanic
but a population preservation mechanic by the onion, pikmin park in hey and the shorts does show more than a hundred can be fielded........... in areas with few to no threats
in the shorts only a single bulborb
and pikmin park has no notable threats
it's interesting to note the implications of details and the why's
an example is that pikmin without onions are prone to groups of at minimum 4 members and only less in dire circumstances
pikmin is a game to us but when you really start gazing at the details.............. well considering the details, something in universe might be aware of the players as indicated by the key.......... and i'm willing to bet on just exactly what is setting the game up
Love Pikmin
this was amazing to watch today hit the like
I swear, if they rename Wollywogs to Wollyhops in the US version of Pikmin 4, I will lose it.
I got bad news
I'm at the jumping phase rn. Please tell me there's some kind of pattern because I refuse to purposely feed it yellows.
I think it adapts to your movements. It'll try to eat Pikmin if there's some in front of it, but if it takes too long then it'll just start jumping. Sadly baiting the tongue attack is the best way to deal damage to it if you're not going to stun it with bomb rocks :(
Post Video - Finale in PIKMIN 1 HD for NINTENDO SWITCH (Since SSBU in Dec. 2018, moved to PIKMIN 3 Deluxe in Oct. 2020 and then I'm in PIKMIN 2 HD. But, I wasn't in first HD game.)
CAN-KOR "SSB Series" Player (Kangil): Oh my. You done already and I miss this. Well, no matter. The next game is to find all these treasures in "nice and clean".

@alfredencallado7181 that’s kind of an understatement. If you’re jealous it’s ok, if you aren’t that’s nice. But I could let you have the credit of being first
