Wow, this bike is impressively quiet and smooth, and I'm genuinely happy for you. At the same time, I can't help but feel a little bit envious, but it's all in good fun. I've also been thinking about getting a new bike lately since the one I've been using for everything is pushing six years now. Anyway, that's about it from my side. Great video, and sending all my love from Poland! ❤
I've been mtn. biking for 30 years. For the last 5 years my passion has become chukar hunting and archery hunting. I still ride, mainly for fitness but I don't really get excited about it. Watching your videos is actually making me want to get out and check out some new trails. Congrats on the new bike.
Congrats Dale! You work hard for the success you've gotten so far and all of it is well deserved. Here's to the success you've had so far and to that which will undoubtedly come to you in the future!
Very impressive, it looks spectacular and looks like it performs like a dream. Of course a lot of that is because of the rider. Anyway congrats on the new addition to your fleet.
I’ve had my Claymore for a year and a half and its seen almost 2000 miles. Such an incredible bike, with an even better company backing it. Cheers, and don’t be afraid to run less sag in the rear!
So happy for you Dale! Long time coming (overdue in fact), but so well deserved! And those wheels are eye-catching - literally! ;-) And there was never any “shame” in that 5th Horseman feature, but happy to see you check that off the list. I don’t have the skill to really appreciate what goes into riding a feature like that, but I honestly had no doubt in your ability to do it clean and in control. 👏
Thanks for the kind words Nick! If you've never seen the Stairs of Despair™ in person, I'd highly recommend them as a quick evening hike. They are a lot more ridiculous in person!
@@DaleStone that sounds like a great idea! Another hike suggestion you gave me a couple of years back was eye opening, and you seem to ride that particular trail with little difficulty or hesitation… so yeah, Stairs of Despair must be some kind of intimidating. Anyway, some pleasant fall/winter/spring day in the future, 5th Horseman here I (and probably my family) come…. on foot!
Haha, indeed. A word of caution though, probably pick a day that's not great for riding and go up New Testament and down 5th. Everything above the entrance of New Testament is too fast and therefore dangerous to walk!
LFG dale. Been a min since i watched a vid been busy, I see this one and you bouta hit 250k thats crazy bro I remember it felt like yesterday you announced you were going full time, you must me so hyped, I def am nobody deserves it more. May fortune continue to favor you buddy and stay safe!
Very Nice. I have the Claymore (in green) and it's been awesome. Except it was eating derailleur hangers for breakfast. Get a few NS Billet hangers asap.
Dale. Wow. Last time I checked you had just broken 100k subs, and the time before that was somewhere around 9k. Congrats on everything, keep up the good work! I was gonna say "let's get Dave over 100k next", and somehow he's shot up to like 170 since last time I checked. WTF guys?! Still jealous, and hoping I get to ride the coast again some time soon!
I was wondering where you went, I hadn’t seen a video in a minute. But love the new bike, was hoping maybe a pinion drive, but high pivot is good. But the main thing above everything else it’s got the bell!
Agreed! I have wireless shipping on my newest ride and love the ease of set up, haven’t ran out of battery yet although came close. One drawback is having to make sure your battery has a good charge, be really cool if they could integrate a small charger somehow to charge off the breaking or something. But there I go dreaming again! Great riding buddy!
i dont know how to explain, but its just so amusing that i guessed it from the thumbnail, saw one on marketplace a couple of days ago since im in scotland haha
I would love to hear what you think of them after a while compared to the shimano and sram brakes you have tried I was thinking about them in the future. Thanks dale
Insane bike! Would love some more info on the Intend Brakes - I have been eyeing a pair for quite a while now, but havent pulled the trigger during their launches because there is not any reviews or info at all on them other than Intends own stuff. Would be fun to hear your input, and maybe if you could compare them to shimano/sram from your experiences.
The build is so rad! Yeah I'm with the comments and would love to get a full bike check when you got things locked in. Also, those Trinity brakes look pristine! How'd you get your hands on those when they sold out in like 35 seconds haha
wow. that is one quiet bike. I know this is weird but I'm interested in knowing what kind of bike bell you have. I want one that doesn't ding while riding down tech. 😄
Please talk about the brakes in the bike check video. They look like trick stuff but I want to say they’re intend? Either way would love to hear more about them.
I've been drooling over this for a while. The only thing stopping me is the fact that they don't have a mullet option. I love mullet set ups and never quite got use to 29'ers. With that said, would you know if it's possible to go mullet on this?
New 29ers are far better than those of even 5-6 years ago if you haven't tried one recently! Currently there is no mullet option for sale for the Claymore, but I can pass along the feedback for sure. 👀
I've been riding my Highlander 150 for over half a year and it's definitely the best bike I've ever had. From all-day mountain trips to bikeparks. customer service at deviate is also something that other brands should learn from. the only problem I noticed is that the derailleur hanger is not very solid
@@DaleStone Unfortunately UDH rear triangles will be oney for highlander 2 and claymore. Highlander 150 is previous generation . but really this derailleur hanger is the only small minus. All my friends right now is riding deviate bikes after I bought my:)
I've tried the Bandit on a friend's bike before, and would absolutely love to ride the Edge on mine. Hopefully Intend has some ambassador openings next year... 👀
That bike looks awesome but it's so quiet. Are you running a silent clutch in the freehub because i can't hear the freehub at all. I guess the high pivot eliminates chain slap because you can't hear the chain either. You only hear the tyres which sounds great.
I run Onyx Vesper hubs, which are both dead silent and have instant engagement. I'd highly recommend them as an upgrade to almost literally anything else: bit.ly/OnyxDaleStone As for high-pivots, they don't inherently eliminate chain slap, some are actually quite noisy! Deviate has definitely done a good job of quieting down this Claymore though.
I like the style you ride and how you approach problems....and show them in your edits. It is helpful to me in my riding and I try to stay calm and have some semblance of grace working down steep problem sections. That is a pretty bike. Do you still use EXO + casings without inserts? I was thinking you would need more than that for your racing or maybe you are better at line choice and don't need as much casing support?
I've been using Delium's Rugged Reinforced tires, which are probably 2/3rds the way between EXO+ and DD. They support the channel and they've been great, so I'd recommend checking them out! bit.ly/DeliumDaleStone
I would love to see a smaller company than Maxxi get my money. Do you use the extra soft triple compound front and back? I'd like to save $40 per tire and replace them sooner. (Just replace two yesterday) I have Assagui EXO+ Grip front and DHR DD Grip back. I'll look at the Dellums some more to understand if the tread pattern is similar or better. @@DaleStone
What's the braap, braap sound as you do those jumps early in the vid (as in 1:48)? Also, I felt myself puckering up on those steep sections at the end, wow - steep and technical - well done!

That bike is freakishly quiet.
Easily the quietest I've ever ridden!
The other word I’d use for it is “eerily”. I kept wondering if the audio was muted until I heard some dirt noises!
Watch out horseys!
Just the sound of tires and a properly set up suspension. It’s the best
is there a bell I'm hearing in the video?
also, what's up with the hubs that make them so quiet?
Congrats Dale, been following you a long time. You definitely deserve a bike sponsor with your engaging content and bike riding skills!
Thanks Jeff!
Welcome to the Clan Dale!
Awesome to have you on board, and great the see Deviate’s being ridden well on some truly stunning trails🤘
