- When we moved into our 1860s farmhouse, we needed to be creative with the space. With 5 kids (and one on the way at the time) the 4 bedrooms were off limit for office space. We thought it over and the one space we had was in the kitchen. Custom built in cabinetry was our office solution. Join me as I take you on a tour!

Absolutely stunning!! The cabinets remind me of the floor to ceiling cabinets that I had in the 1915 home that we lived in when we were first married!!
Love it! My dad made furniture and cabinetry for fun when he was alive. That honestly looks exactly like something he would of made! That was his style with the latches, exposed hinges, stained wood and the doors.
Love his taste! Most cabinet makers look at you cray when you want an "antique" look.
The upper cabinets would be perfect for holiday dishes, less used kitchen items etc
I grew up in an old farmhouse that had no closets. My dad who is a cabinet maker built a massive wall unit. All our clothes for us kids was in this massive cabinet in the kitchen. This reminds me of that. Old house storage solutions. It still to this day holds clothes for my parents. My husband thinks it’s odd that I grew up with that.
I don’t think this could be more perfectly designed for both style and function. It is obviously well planned and organized to house the things you need to maintain your business, and at the same time, it adds beauty and value to your home. Thanks for sharing this.

Have you thought of using an antique circular piano stool with four feet as a chair? The seat is adjustable and with four feet it could straddle the board. When you don't need it you can put it inside the cabinet. You could make a cute cushion for it as well. Your office is beautiful and adds just the perfect finish to your beautiful kitchen!

Looks great! I would suggest finding a small padded stool that is low enough to fit with the desk and small enough to just be tucked inside that cabinet door when your not using it when closed.

Holy GUAC! Those look PERFECT there! Such a great use of space and looks like it has been there for years! Fantastic use of space Lisa! How great too for years from now if your line of work changes for kitchen pantry storage etc. We have an old home and storage is really hard to find. This is great!
Beautifully done! It gives the rest of us some great ideas for an "invisible" home office. If you need to be able to pull your keyboard forward so you can sit more comfortably in the chair, perhaps it would be possible to install a pull out chopping board to rest it on.
Paige is great! Love the look of the built-in cabinetry! It is reminiscent of a Hoosier cabinet, but HUGE. ❤️

It looks really nice. You could get a cushion for the chair to make it more comfortable when you have to sit there for long periods and store it in the bottom cabinet when you don't need it.
Fabulous! If I moved in that house, I would LOVE that office! Currently my kitchen table is my office so when it's mealtime, there's all the office papers to move.

That's amazing! My husband built a built in cabinet years ago in our dining room for my computer, printer and office supplies. It had open bookshelves up top and window seats on the side. I also used a dining room chair. Everyone thought it was a dish cabinet. We were there for 39 years. We just moved across the street from our daughter and grand twins. I'm struggling with this house to figure out how to hide office stuff. It will def be in the dining room again though.
Absolutely love the cabinets. The kitchen has really come together and looks so cozy, warm and practical. On your antique travels ,do you ever see pewter mugs and assorted pieces? I use the mug/tankard to store my pens and pencils. It really enhances the look of my desk

Wonderful!!! Fits in perfectly and looks so good from the front door. Love how the upper cabinet locks are above little peoples' reach. While I don't blog, I find I really need a home office. Just part of modern days' living.

Maybe some of the future home schooling materials for the children when not in use. But I am sure you have a designated cabinet for that now. Just love the result!

Its taken a long time but worth the wait😊Most brilliant office I've ever seen. I do some thing similar because aesthetically I hate clutter. So I bring the printer & laptop out of the cupboard to work on the dining table.

If you have a pond on your property I know of some ducks looking for a home. The ppl moved and left their ducks and they are multiplying like crazy. Jus let me know. Oh and theres ducks of all ages.
That’s is perfectly beautiful! Looks like it was always meant for that purpose. If your interested in a bit more height in a chair perhaps a wheelie stool would fit under the table. You might notice them in the dentist surgery. The stools also come in a saddle style seat too! Really comfortable and great for posture while working, even if it’s for a short time. Love the use of dinning chair though, we do a similar thing with our breaky bar stools. 👍🏻

If sitting so far away from the counter because of the toe kick becomes uncomfortable perhaps you could add a pull out tray to the bottom cabinet for your keyboard and mouse. I love how it turned out and the color is gorgeous. Maybe you said and I missed it but I'd be curious to know the type of wood and stain color you used. Also gorgeous hardware. Where did you source it? Thanks for sharing!
