Had mine for 5 months. Beautiful to look at and satisfying to drive but it took me a little while to really understand what I’d bought, and to get the best out of it. Actually went shopping for a Q7 but this was sitting next to it in the showroom and it was like seeing a pretty woman at a party and thinking ‘you have to come home with me tonight’! Unlike most times when that thought has crossed my mind, she did.

Yeah, if you can afford the little higher price and don’t have 4 kids, it’s quite a sweet ride. I have a friend who just got an RS Q8 and he said I could give it a go!

Another good review. Thanks, and keep up the good work. I'm actually trying to decide right now between getting the 2021 loaded Q8 Prestige or the 2021 loaded SQ8 Prestige with the Sport Package. I'm leaning towards the Q8, for its better mpg and still decent power. They look almost identical if you match the colors. But before deciding, I am trying to learn more about the specifics of the Quattro AWD in the Q8, and if it's the same or different than in the SQ8 without the SQ8's optional sports package and its rear ltd slip differential. And if the same but for that sports package, I am then trying to learn more about any cons and pros that sports package might bring to the table, especially as it relates to rougher roads and slippery bad weather like during snowstorms.
It has been frustrating because different reviewers are giving conflicting info, such as some say the Q8's awd is fixed at a 60/40 rear/front power or torque bias between the rear and front axels, but others say it starts at a 60/40 bias rear/front, but will send more to the front or rear depending on driving conditions. So which is it, and does changing the selected Mode change the percentages to the rear or front; and is it the same in the SQ8 before adding that sports package? Some say the Q8 can go as much as 70% to the front axel and 80% to the rear as needed, while others say as much as 85% to the rear, though that one appears to be talking about the SQ8 with the sport package and associated rear ltd slip diff. And does the Q8 or base SQ8 already have a rear ltd slip diff but perhaps one not finally tuned for a specific high performance purpose. It has proven difficult to find such details, and the chat people on the Audi website are of now use. If you know any of the above, or learn about it from someone, please share. Either way, great review.
