I drove CJ’s, YJ’s and TJ’s daily for 20 years and loved them all. But I bought my first of 3 FJ’s about 8 years ago and haven’t looked back since. The pros far outweigh the cons. The comfort difference on the Highway really freed up my travel limitations. And hauling my kid around in a much higher safety rated FJ was a big plus.
Man you definitely have some experience with Jeeps! Couldn't agree with you more about highway travel and safety, I have heard a lot of stories of people wrecking their FJ Cruisers and they walk away unharmed.
Just picked up my first FJ about a month or so ago. 2007 with 158k miles. The guy I bought it from was super into Toyota and took awesome care and work to it. Mildly modded with suspension 285s 3 inch lift. Front bumper and winch. Absolutely love it ! I had a 2020 Tacoma off road couple years ago and loved it. But this FJ is something special.
I agree with you. I’m new with an FJ. I took it on a trail that I’m sure my first gen. Tacoma would need to be in 4 wheel drive. That thing crawled through the obstacles in 2 wheel drive with the A track working. I was so impressed.
I just got a 2010 FJ Trail Teams in tan for my first car! I love it so much and I want to keep it forever because they are becoming way harder to find and I just love driving it anyways.
@@OutboundIntent yea totally, and what’s funny is my dad owned it 4 years ago and sold it, and all I wanted was a fj so we bought the same one back from the same person 😂
Thanks for sharing! I have a 2007 6 speed manual FJ with almost 200k miles. Lifted, 33's, and I use it for overlanding and daily driving; at least until I can finally decide on a daily because I want to preserve this thing forever. I won't ever sell it unless I'm offered a million. Then, I'd just buy 10 more FJ's.
I used to own jeeps. I have owned a 1967 M-715, 1995 Cherokee, 1995 Wrangler YJ and 2000 Wrangler. I would not trade my FJ for a jeep. The FJ Cruiser is a definite keeper.
I've beat the hell out of mine for the past 7 years and put about 40,000 off-road miles on it in very remote areas. Jeeps looks cool, but I tell people "Me FJ is like a Jeep...except it works."
Great video bro! I'm new to the FJ scene. I love my 2012 trail teams radiant red rig! I started modding it and now I'm addicted! I just wish the FJ population was just as proud as we are. FJ forever 💪
I have owned Jeeps over the course of my life. I started with a 78 CJ5, and went through a series of different Jeep products. None of them comparte to my FJ Cruiser.
What’s better, an FJ or a 4Runner? When I went to the dealership to discuss more about a TRD Off Road 4Runner (March 2022), they had a 2012 FJ in the showroom for sale. It was outfitted with black TRD rims with A/T tires on it, all black with tinted windows … it looked pretty darn good, till I saw the price in the windshield, $65K Canadian and it had 100,000 kms on it. I sat down with the salesperson to discuss a 4Runner, and the MSRP at the time was $55K Cdn. I’m good friends with a guy who is related to the owner of the dealership, so they gave me a family discount (everywhere else was charging over MSRP). So in my view 4Runner is better (TRD Off Road in Canada only comes as USA premium with sunroof).
Yeah and honestly that comes down to the individual and what they are using it for. 4Runners in my opinion are more practical if you have a family as there is more space and a full second row… FJs are better for off-roading with the rear solid axle and other options in my opinion
comparing jeep to fj, for it to be fair, it has to be the same year of both, and with a 4 door wrangler. i own a 2013 fj, and i owned a 2013 4 door wrangler. the wrangler did not come with diff lock or a A trac type system, and it still held its own off roading. the jeeps 3.6 v6 motor is just as good as the fj's motor.... i swapped to an fj because i drive 300 mile trips often and the fj is slightly more comfortable on longer trips, and i like the shorter wheel base. The jeeps roof and doors are made to come off so of course the cabin comfort is compromised. Also toyotas reliability reputation slightly nudges out the jeeps pedigree reputation. I never had an issue with my jeep in the 3 years i owned it.
I wished my fj was 4x4, trading mine if forba 4x4 is out of question. The price tag is way too much, and i really like mine, so it's hard to part ways with it.
What is your tire size? I did a BMC on mine and am about to purchase a Smittybilt M1 front bumper. Therefore, are you having clearance issues with your M1 bumper?
Tire size is 33", the one thing we trimmed was the edge of the bumper at the washer fluid reservoir on the passenger side. It didn't rub but it was very close so off-road we knew it would. Otherwise there should be no issues!

Yeah it is incredible what the FJ can do. Most of the times I'll see how long I can stay in 2-wheel and I am always surprised haha

No way that is awesome! Definitely hold onto that one. I still believe the value of FJ Cruisers will continue to go up.

Sounds like a solid FJ! Yeah I am on the same page, I never like daily driving vehicles that I want to preserve.

I might have to steal that from you haha that is so true!
Great video…I’ve built many Wranglers… but the FJ was always my favorite…I’ve got a 2008, I’m older… but it’ll be my DD till I die…

Heck yeah man can't wait to see the build! FJs are extremely underrated!
Sick ass build🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love to find FJ content !!!
Thanks man! More FJ content is on the way.
I scored a 2012 FJB Edition last November with 169,000 miles on it. I absolutely love it!
Congrats, FJs are simply the best!

Literally contemplating on putting a down payment on one around the $20k area. I have an older Cherokee now, it’s an piece of garbage. I’m doing it.
Heck yeah, good luck to you! You will not be disappointed.
You'll love it..Good luck 👍
I got it. Had it for about a month now. Love it !! @@gandules06

Your FJ is one of the nicest I’ve ever seen 👍👍
Thank you!
where did you buy the front bumper and how much was it?
What part of PA are you in . Im near Lancaster. Killer looking fj. Love mine.
Maybe I’ll see you around, I’m nearby
Got a steal on a black 07 fj 4x4. Was bought for his wife but stayed in the garage only 30k miles no rust never touched dirt🤟
Man it sounds like you got a good one!
I love them but I hate when non car people call mine and my wife’s FJ’s Jeep’s.
My dad and I get that all the time 😂
That’s because FJ are copying Jeeps . There no other vehicle to reference it to when you don’t know what it is

Love your FJ. So many reasons they're better than jeeps, or anything else--only a couple why they may not be.
100% agree, there is downsides compared to a jeep but the upsides weigh more
I ❤ FJ
Me too!
hahaha If you had a Jeep would you Block out the letters on the grill to just say *"EE"*
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Precisely what I would do 🤣
If you can find em cheap, clean, and low miles
Which seems increasingly harder to find...
@@OutboundIntent yes. My 07 was high miles when I got it with clean history.

I love jeep slander XD
