Thanks Dave and Emily. My wife wants us to do this song. Thanks for nerding out the piano to guitar part for me, got to love you tube. I can play all this, but sussing it out is done by you!
Ironically, the Captain or Dragon just passed away within the last year or two as I recall. They were a pop powerhouse of a band charting tunes consistently for period on the top 40 charts. Toni Tenille had a powerhouse set of chimes as I recall.....she projected well and could do both pop and ballads very effectively. Fun band to watch as well.....oh, that was a great era.
Awesome! Fantastic singing too. I’ve wanted for a long time to put together an acoustic duo that could tackle these songs that we all love. People instantly respond to them b/c they have stood the test of time and there’s nothing more fun, more musical adept, more catchy, more beloved, than these great songs from the 60s thru the early 80s. Best era of music by a long shot.
Omg a Captain & Tennille song, and a good one also. I always enjoyed that song and the good upbeat and energy of it. Great lesson to any guitarist who like the song. Have a great week Dave
Love these fun songs from the Golden Age of pop music! Cool chords once again. A few ideas ... Popsicle Toes (Michael Franks), Midnight at the Oasis (Maria Muldair), Light Is On (Christopher Cross), Just The Two Of Us (Grover Washington Jr), Waters of March (Art Garfunkel), Brandy (Looking Glass). Was fun to hear the song stripped down to just the chords. Nice guitar and sweet singing.
I like these videos. They are fun and informative. Am I crazy (ok, I am) but do you hear kind of the progression of The Beach Boys “Do It Again” in that strum pattern and the augmented B chords at the beginning?

Sedaka gives mini concerts regularly on his YT channel
Like how they sneak in "Sedaka is back" in the fade out vocals. Well done as always!

Tendrias que dibujar los acordes porque no se ven bien
Or you could work a little harder. One or the other. Now let's see who is more stubborn.
