Tardigrades will carry our memory like a torch through the darkness of space and time and into the uncertainty of the future after we have long perished.
Sorry, but some of your facts are rather.... suspect. I have spent the last year researching the role of wind in taridgrade dispersal and had to learn a great deal about them. Yes, they can survive in space while in their tun. Beyond that, one may want to go elsewhere to learn about the amazing creature known as the water bear. Good animation does not equal good information. Sorry, big thumbs down.
This is the first im discovering Tardigrade.. I never heard of them till I saw it on Twitter for the first time.. I must admit, I am a bit fascinated by them and want to research to learn more about them since im finding them interesting..
uuuuh people in the comment sectiion complaining that there are no "facts" here when they are not mentioning the incrediible scientifically accurate ch animation that shows the amazing microscopic world that is so alien and begs so many questiions from the names of all those other micro animals to the basic surface of their environments, incredible worlds iinside of flower all the nooks and cranies hiding all sorts of micro things we just never see. Anyone else have the urge to go see other animatiions of the microworld now?
Well... this would be slightly more interesting... ok a lot more... if they actually showed the microscopic creature surviving in these conditions. We can boil water, freeze well below subzero and create the same vacuums as space. Yet, we're watching an animated film.....
Why people are always making a mistake in the name of our country? It's Kazakhstan for a god's sake, you could google that. Once i saw a Cambridge book about space exploration were Kazakhstan was called a city. What is wrong with you, guys?
I'm thinking this could make a great science fiction movie starring "Tardigrades". Maybe an interesting variation on "Jaws"? Radioactive water bears overwhelm Kokomo Indiana!!!
BAD MOVIE! Sorry, but I think it's a really bad movie, and here's why : (my english is awful, you're warned) A good movie is not only the quality of the CG. Every elements does matter, like animation, the way of filming it, etc...and it only depend of the creators aim. A good point : Real Tardigrads don't move like in the movie : it's an mammal walk, not a Ecdysozoa walk, I guess...and It's ok. That's one of severals elements (music, storytelling...) that show the "main character" as a sensitive animal, and we care about it : It's the IMA goal, then. If it's not, there's no reason for the mammal behaviour of Tardigrad, the music change with the "danger" approaching, the fall of the "hero"... BUT the tardigrad is picked up by someone and "throwed" into space. Actually, it seems to me that it is throwed in the void by mistake. There's no scientific reasons for that. Or the tardigrad was still on the vegetal. But we can't see the vegetal to understand that. (..and in any case, it's not exlained to the audience) Why picking up it, then?!!! There's no reason, no visual proof to inform the audience about it. At the end, tardigrad stay in the void, without reason or explanation of the voice-over. No sad or happy music to show the aim of that. The film concept is good. The Picture, very very beautiful. The animation, marvellous. The beginning, so interesting. But, I'm sorry, it doesn't make a good movie : the scenario is pointless. It's not a good or a bad story, it's a confusing story. Perhaps something more casual, more like a nature broadcast suit you more than that. Forgive my bad english, and also my review, because your work is great, but there's some bad defaults, for me.
I learned more information from a Buzzfeed video. Interesting facts about the tardigrade: 1. They can live in pressure 6x that of the lowest point of the ocean 2. Can live from -400F to 200F 3. Can live 10 years without food (they slow down their metabolisms) 4. They can survive 1000 times the lethal radiation dose to kill a human.
If this is the case and that these creatures could suevive in space then what do you think are the chances that they could survive in other planet or that they could have come from another planet perhaps another planet with life and came to earth developing through the process of evolution. Think about it guys
If one of those things poses on a mushroom then you take that mushroom freeze it and then boiled it and then eat that thing will steel be alive inside your body
Came for the facts, stayed for the visuals. Still think this is clickbait though, because no facts were mentioned at all. Downvoted for that disconnect in name and content.
Story of first tardigrade astronaut.
Bullshit. Waterbears can't talk, let alone narrate a video.
Lol
***** I found a 3D printed Tardigrade here: shpws.me/zfuy
This made me laugh
Sir you know nothing.
Wake up: water bears can do ANYTHING =o
What about the world that is microscopic to THEM?
When I die, I'm asking God if I could come back as one these marvels.
Just wondering, Can ANYONE put up a clip about this thing that isn't aimed at kids or the average TLC viewer?
Please?
this makes me wanna play spore
Hey you all these little things live for 100 years or so and 10 in space
WOW nice vid !!!
wait tardigrades are herbivores right? they eat algae so why are they eating those cells 1:00
They aren't really made of meat. They can eat anything, but yeah. They mostly are herbivores
The tardigrade isn't voiced by Ian Miller. 0/10
Wait there have eye?
EWW
Tardigrades are basically a more badass version of a cockroach.
and a less, much less disgusting one IMO...
+Nacirema attleast they got cool advanture's
Nacirema they lived from the early Cambrian till present
more kawaii actually
@@alfredoquezada3711 and a more cuter version
Tardigrade facts? This video, although nicely produced, supplied absolutely no facts at all.
Tardigrades will carry our memory like a torch through the darkness of space and time and into the uncertainty of the future after we have long perished.
Renegade Fighter lol
it would be awesome to see a full length tardigrade movie!
The real heroes here are the Tardigrade camera men and their tiny eight handed cameras.
Four minutes, and all I get is that water bears are also called tardigrades?
Sorry, but some of your facts are rather.... suspect. I have spent the last year researching the role of wind in taridgrade dispersal and had to learn a great deal about them. 2:07 For a second I thought he was going to smoke the hell out of that tardigrade. kkk
+Clayton Matias They did!
now you got me curious. wouldn't it survive in their lungs? if so would they have respiratory problems if there was like around 50 of them?
+ Clayton Matias I love this comment thread! So many humourous, hilarious folks on here! LOVE IT!!
So funny, did laugh
I appreciate this. Thank you.
I am now afraid of moss
15 folks don't care for or feel threatened by The Tardigrade.
Where's the facts?
QueenYYS the pictures maybe the facts but if they aren’t then I guess it’s up yo arsh hole

little too anthropomorphic for me. nice animation though.
great animations, interesting subject, beautiful depiction of "life in a water droplet" but a bad storyline. Could have used more thought.
A few words at the beginning. I wonder why you didn't keep explaining things?
Pointless video. Just showing off their visual skill and mentions nothing about this animal.

The Australian (and British) spelling of favorite is "favourite".

....and the facts?
WHY DOES IT LOOKS SO CUTE??
+stink stinky tiny invisible claws that belong to one of the most fascinating creatures in a molecular and biological level.
tardigrade = Frieza in dragon ball z. actually frieza is better...but moving on.
+blandantey
No Frieza is actually a humanoid Dinosaur who happens to have the impossible ability to survive in space(for a organism his size).
Nice, take the first half of the video, add some witty dialogues and there you go the latest Pixar blockbuster lol
Where are the facts?...another mistitled video.

Voll das Pokemon, alder

+alina li 5. tardigrade can survive ten days in space.
What if this actually came from space long ago?
Yigu Zhu That would make them even more intriguing!
If this is the case and that these creatures could suevive in space then what do you think are the chances that they could survive in other planet or that they could have come from another planet perhaps another planet with life and came to earth developing through the process of evolution. it would probably die to the chemicals in your stomach
+One PAAANCH no it would survive
Yep. These things cant be killed
It would be so cool if humans were as tough as tadigrades
We need more of this videos about tardigrades! :D
Where the hell are the facts?

Came here thanks to Jon Boyle and SB nation.
poor Tardigrade...
More like caterpillars underwater
Came for the facts, stayed for the visuals. Still think this is clickbait though, because no facts were mentioned at all. Downvoted for that disconnect in name and content.
Not very informative, but a really cool demonstration of animating skills. I hope whoever made this puts it on their resume.
I enjoyed your film. The face is wrong. You must have had a time limit. Please extrapolate in the future
Omg they r soo cute! Y couldn’t they b the size of dogs? I so want one! 😍😍😍😍😍
... And then they sent me to space for some reason.
The tiny creatures in the beginning are Rotifers, also a multicellular microscopic organisms
Weird to call your video tardigrade facts when the one fact you give 'they are found on earth' is already known if you are typing tardigrade
Does the water bear care about being lost in space?Water Bear Don't Care! - SciTunes #14

Amazing guys...
I guess you did a lot of work on that tardigrade there...
