    What you want for the bed electrics is called dragchain, it's a segmented loom guard. You've probably seen it already on forklifts and anything with an extendable boom. If you run a piece of C channel along the frame for it to sit in and run your loom though that should sort you out.

    I like patina. The real patina. I've never understood why someone would fake it then spray shiny clear over it. On my 1967 Ford F-100 SWB it's got real patina and I'm gonna scuff it and spray flat clear on it and I'm done. It sat in a old man's yard unprotected for 30 years to get to the look it has.

      You see I’m on the other side of that why not just kind of give us a good cleanup and then just do a cheap paint job so it doesn’t look like hell but that’s just my opinion. It doesn’t take a lot of money to put a paint job on there people make it seem like it’s so hard. It’s gonna cost so much but a guy could do it himself and be proud of it without spending Thousands… ask me how I know

      Ugh, right? My boss in addition to one of my coworkers had 2019-ish era Rubicons that I'm sure were like $40,000 off the showroom floor. They then dumped at least another $25k each on aftermarket parts, lift kits, hideous wheels, winches, etc. Time spent on any road surface rougher than the gravel parking lot at the weekly farmers market? Zero. So effing ridiculous. I have an 01 TJ 4.0 that I daily drive, absolutely no hesitation at getting her muddy. Oh yeah - $5,000 hahaha.

    • @TireSlayer55
      @TireSlayer55 8 месяцев назад +4

      I think the new ones still have built in character, but most owners do not use them off road... Rubicons and modified Wranglers are definitely no exception, I think most people just buy them because they look cool. Oh well... in the future when these Jeeps are affordable parts will be plentiful.

Usually it’s just the inside of the boxed frame. Fix it a few different ways. Couple pieces of Angle or cut plate. A lot of times I’d raise body mounts while doing that. 🤷🏼‍♂️ IDK. Short story, Back in 1979 a crazy friend of mine bought a brand new CJ7, with no options off the dealer lot. He took that brand New CJ and entered it in off-road Enduro races.. He kept taking 1st place from day one, he drove like he had nothing to live for.. The engine, a 6 cylinder with a manual was beat to heck after maybe 6 months, he built a huge 401 and a better tranny. He called his Jeep MUD PUPPY. He went on to race the Jeep across the country and always did super good as I really believe he didn't fear death ☠️ at all. He broke his leg the next winter by riding a motorcycle in a snow storm. The following day he was back riding the Honda 500CC down the street. He rolled MUD PUPPY many times and always escaped death somehow! This CJ7 brought back this memory as I lost track of him. We lived in Mpls MN back then.😊

    Great vid! All sorts of fun tid-bits in there, although I am a little sad to see the Gran Torino Elite go away. But then - glad it is going to some folks who want to drive it, and give it new life. Cool upgrade on the big truck. And I loved seeing the Memorial Day parade. Especially the re-enactors / Colonial era soldiers. Perfect timing, since I am currently re-reading 1776 - this time on audio, in my truck. Anyway - ALWAYS great to see Chris & Jenn doing their thing! 2 great young Americans!

    You should put that 304 in the other Jeep. Those 304’s are stout. My mom had one in a ‘74 Gremlin X with a Hurst four speed, factory headers, 4bbl, positraction. It hauled ass.

    Man you a bringing back memories! I had a 79 Renegade with the 304 many, many, years ago.
    To engage the 4wd easier, you let off the clutch slightly right at the engagement point to "rock"the jeep back and forth. 4wd will pop right in effortlessly!

    Awesome videos and you are one of the hardest working people out of all these car video channels. Also you are a daredevil skateboarding through Philadelphia at 1am in the morning, walking around Newark in Jersey which is deadly, and going inside of a NYC subway tunnel. You must have a guardian angel following you around. Keep up the great work, take care and god bless

    That stiff turning is probably the wheel joints, the u-joints located right by the wheels. I’ve owned some junk and that was pretty common. Easy way to test it is lock the manual hub with the jeep in the air then try to spin the tire with the vehicle turned all the way one way or the other. If it spins fine unlocked but only moves a few inches before it stops locked its that u-joint
