I agree that his show is funnier, however these sketches would be a lot different live and also just not really sit comfortably into the flow of an episode of SNL IMO.
Have you noticed when most of these writers are able to do their own thing they are 1000x funnier than any of the skits they’ve written on SNL, that’s a producer problem
I disagree, I think it’s largely a format problem. When SNL goes on hiatus, it’s usually done so they can book the host and musical guest. The writing actually happens on a weekly basis as they pitch a sketch one day, spend a day or two writing it, have the host choose the sketch they like, then have the actors perform it. Then the process starts over the next week. With other formats, they are allowed to take their time when on hiatus, and spend more time pitching sketches, then writing/ refining them.
I agree. I started following SNL around 12-10 years ago, this was around when Cecily, Tim, Abby and Kate started. Honestly, I felt bad for Tim all those years. I never found him funny and any sketch he was in, he seemed to only be a minor side character. But when I started watching I think you should leave last year, I laughed my ass off. This is funnier than SNL by a long shot, definitely my sense of humour. I just then delightfully realized that perhaps Tim’s humour was restricted by SNL’s format or choice of demographic. Whatever the case, I’m happy Tim is flourishing and he is now able to fully showcase his talents
Because SNL is leftist trash propaganda making fun of men and making pedo jokes. The purpose is to shape the way you think about things not be funny which is why ITYSL is so good. We have been starved for real art without politics.
Different format. Tim Robinson has a 18-20 minute show and it’s not live with a guest host. Different writing. Most people that slam snl haven’t watched it in years. Weekend update is always good. Jost and Che are really funny. To me at least. There’s still very good writing there. Having said that, I do love itysl.
You are righter than SNL has been in years. Truthfully, some sketches on ITYSL didn't really hit me, but they were still better than most SNL sketches because they were imaginative.

Chunky, Airplane Vengeance, Dog humped, Car Focus group are some of the best skits that comes first in my mind.
The funniest show I’ve watched in years.
I’ve only seen ITYSL before this and I truly believed he must have a real speech impediment, but no, he talks completely normal, that’s hilarious
I think you should leave---I died. Best comedy show eva.
Seth is cramping Tim's style.
his sketches are so much funnier then SNL and take a lot more twists. i thought sketch shows couldnt be funny to me anymore, Robinson changed my mind
I never realized there was an actual rhyme and reason to the show 😩ppl that just won’t give up
You can tell the majority of the crowd isnt into THIS type of comedy hahaha, love it!
"it was so great to be able to bring it back and be like, okay, it is okay. and okay, I am okay." lmao ♡♡♡
This guy’s about to JACK OWFF.
Such an amazing show cant wait for more
"Brian's Hat" is one of the top 10 sketches in history,, and that's SOME fkin achievement.
Anyone watching this interview, the show they're discussing is absurdly funny. Not every sketch is great but when they are it is fantastic. The Night Scrooge Saved Christmas has made me laugh over and over the last week.
I couldn’t breathe laughing so hard with the first 2 skits of episode 1
Incorrect. Every sketch IS great
One that stayed in my memory is the emcee and audience of a function honoring Herbie Hancock arguing over whether a dog of one of the audience members bit the emcee or humped his head in an incident earlier that evening.
FRIGGIN BONIES
His absurdist humor is so niche and I love it
