- this is a more complete video on how I have my cars headliner starlights wired into my cars. hoping this applies to many different years and models and helps clear up any confusion on wiring.

Just cut the cigarette lighter adapter that comes with the lights.
All you need is ground and power. Ground is obvious; you could find one always everywhere on the car.(Factory grounds) just tap into one.
Power wire you’ll probably need extra power wire depending where you decide to mount the light motor. Crimp or solder extra wire if needed for length to reach your fuse box. You’ll also need an add a fuse to tap into something that turns on with 12v with the car. Look for anything that is 10amp and you have to fuse it with a fuse lower than the fuse you decide to use. For example I tapped into a 10 amp fuse so I use a 7.5 amp to power the lights! The install is fairly simple. You could also look up on videos on the add a fuse to learn more.
Yo so the fuse I’m tryna tap into my dodge charger is the cigar lighter (selectable ) 20Amp . So I can use the fuse tap 2-10 amp on the that fuse I’m tryna tap into ?

Hi, I have a question. If I have automatic headlights, would it be possible to connect it to dipped headlights as well? if it's just dark and my light switches from daytime to dipped beam, the starry sky would also light up. Thank you for your reply

Would I blow a fuse if I put a 20Amp fuse on 2-10A tap fuse ?
wouldn't putting a 30 amp on a 15 amp fuse make it blow?

What fuses did you use for the challenger a 20 and what’s the other one my lights keep over loading
I used the same size for both. The lights I believe only draw like 6amps so a 20amp is more than enough. Something else must be going on

And did you cut the cigarette lighter part off then split the wiring for the extension fuse?
Exactly how I did it. You can cut either one. The house plug or the cigarette lighter plug. And I just matched the fuse that I was sharing with. I think it was 15 or 20amp fuse.
So a 20 for lights and the regular 20 that's already there is coo?

@@srt_392__ my star light kit came with a cigarette lighter plug but i dont think its long enough. how can i wire it directly to my cigarette plug because i wouldnt like to have it plugged in looks tacky. thank you.
@@eatmoreeats9566 as long as you can get behind the cigarette lighter then you can wire it in from behind. If you can’t then you need to extend the wires with a like size or bigger size and connect it to you fuses like I did in the video

Happy to say no issues what do ever with the items I bought from shine innovations. I have done this to 3 of my own cars now and they turn on every time i turn on my car.

A 15amp fuse will be enough.
@@itsfellaj you can keep the size of the wire small. There is not a lot of current being used so anything you find at the auto parts store will be big enough

Hi I’m doing this for my 2013 Dodge Charger it is the same way like your challenger but I’m very confused why does it need a ground wire? Can I just connect the light box to the battery and fuse #12 ?
Hashy313 you have to have a power and a ground. Period. You can ground anywhere you want

Race , Street , Show yeah I just saw it ok so connect the ground to the black long wire from the light box
Race , Street , Show and then the red wire I would connect that to the battery
