I loved the story about your mum, my mum loved Tom Jones too. As a kid I couldn’t understand it but now I totally understand it. Tom was something else back then, as you said he could sing in any style and knock it out of the park. Tom did duets with several great singers on his show, he would sing their songs, now these were no ordinary singers, they were brilliant in their own right but Tom easily held is own and to be honest he would usually out sing them. This version of Long time gone is magical and magnificent, the power and soul in Toms voice is out of this world. I watch this video at leat a couple times a week, I just can’t stop myself getting a bit emotional because I’m witnessing such an incredible performance from Tom and of course the brilliant CSNY. I could see how much you were enjoying it and it is so good to see someone else really feeling this performance as much as I do. Those were great days. Thank you ;)
I love love LOVE this song! Always have. I'm always blown away by Steven. And he is incredible here. They all look like they are enjoying a great jam. You're right about the faces showing that they realize Tom can really bring it. Well, you said it... Tom can fit in with anybody. He's my favorite singer, hands down. Another artist I can't fangirl enough about is blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, whom I discovered this last year. And it's not just about SRV's mad skills with the guitar. I appreciate the man... how much he loved music, how much he enjoyed playing with others, and how humble he was. I enjoy his vocals, too. Would love to hear you react to him and his excellent band Double Trouble. Anyway, thank you so much for deciding to honor your Mom with some reactions of some great collabs of Tom's. I totally understand her love for Tom Jones and his wonderful voice. And I appreciate you sharing your memory of your mom's thoughtfulness with the CSN album.
I would have never thought I'd see and hear a duet of CSNY and Tom Jones doing "Long Time Gone" but there it was on RUclips. Simply amazing stuff! Thank you for your comment!
Let me put it this way: Tom sang with CSN&Y and Pavarotti, I don’t think anyone else came make that claim But more so, he slayed it with both of those highly diverse performers and styles.

Wow great song , Stills is so talented as they all are and how about the young Greg Reeves on bass .
Stills sounded like he was wearing a black Speedo while Jones was going COMMANDO!
HI Dundarave Wine ... I agree. Tom showed CSNY how this song should be done. Take care ...
