rubix is truly amazing not just in dance but he is also a great therapist for his opponent.
Pay attention to Nesty's first round, I think Rubix can learn from that.
In fact I think Dykens also uses this approach.
Very powerful bounce/groove in the beginning but that hip hop vibe stayed for the rest of the round even when he slowed down and did other stuff. I think this approach can help Rubix since that is literally the only thing he ever lacks (you cannot blame judges for penalizing lack of fundamentals). Also want to salute Rubix for having no resets, very difficult when you freestyle as raw as him.

“Resets” are a valid way to dance. As long as you build a story and maintain consistency throughout your round then I think you’re just choosing a different way of expressing yourself as opposed to constantly bouncing like traditional HipHop heads will say is the only true way to dance HipHop.
I know the Twins catch a lot of flak for resets, but as long as it’s clean I don’t see an issue
I really enjoyed Nesty and I loved seeing that hip hop groove, since it's becoming rarer in EU hip hop.

I'm trying to Figure out why it's a bad thing. I would think that it could be really cool in an intentional way, like you start a wave out with your right arm, then you bring it back and do it again but let it carry your body.
@@makesmartTROYces Well that’s the thing: Rubix really never reset in this battle-not at all I don’t think. And Nesty definitely didn’t.
Resets are essentially when a dance “breaks character” during a dance freestyle and switches into a style of dance or series of moves that appear to be disconnected from the way that they were just dancing a split second ago. For example: bboys do a lot of resets because often they will start off with some top rock and bottom rock but then go into a series of power moves; then, once they finish that first combo, usually ending with a *”beatkill”* (important concept that I’ll address later), and they will sometimes strut around to build up momentum or taunt or interact with the audience or strike a freeze/pose that causes a noticeable break in the flow of their freestyle.
Lookup bboy “Neguin” for reference and notice how long his pauses can be between his combos. Think of it as the difference between sentences in a paragraph versus the paragraphs themselves. The fundamentals of HipHop dance are “Bounce, Rock, Skate & Roll” and these moves don’t rely allow for resets in the _traditional sense_ of what HipHop dancing is. You are supposed to flow from one move to the next almost seamlessly as if you were writing out a long 10-15 sentence paragraph with seamless transitions about a topic. “Alex The Cage” is one of the best at this.
Well, in New School HipHop dance there really isn’t so much of an emphasis on the fundamentals and there is a lot of cross over from Breakdance, Litefeet, Krump (a lot of beatkills and resets), Animation, Pop, Tutting, etc. And the RUclips controversy (often pushed by creators such as MetalsPalace) is that the Twins do too much non-traditional dance and not enough fundamentals, especially Larry who primarily focuses on animation and beatkills which means he resets often because he will sometimes stop his movement right before a big beat drop for maximum effect on the crowd.
The thing is, the crowds love beatkills and resets; I personally don’t see a problem with the art form evolving and moving away from a rigid idea of what HipHop is supposed to look like, but if you ever in a comment section of a Les Twins battle you will usually see 1) people hating on the fact they always win in HipHop battles despite being untraditional 2) if they lose people are quick to accuse anyone who disagrees with the outcome of the battle of being “Les Twins fanboys 3) if you show any love at all for The Twins you will get called a fanboy even if they win the battle. Rubix is usually known for his beatkills and resets as well, but this battle was different. Hope that helps explain!

Another thing, nothing against Rubix or any other dancer, I have my preferences, but nothing against any of them, Rubix's victory in this battle is correct, fair and clear.
But here is my question, in a dance battle that is Rubix, neither Larry, nor Laurent nor Regi, nor Rochka, nor Deyvron should be judges, because we already know that they will vote for Rubix, at least 90% of the time it will be like this. If it was Waydi, or Bouboo, he would even be silent, as both are further away from battles now.
The same thing would be putting Niako to dance and Icee as a judge, clearly Icee would give his vote for Niako, and the reverse would happen, Icee dancing and Niako as a judge, he would vote for Icee. Same thing would be putting Diablo to dance and Stalamuerte as judge, or Majid to dance, and putting Franky Dee as judge, we would all know Franky Dee's votes.
So think about this when choosing the judges, call the most neutral guys possible!

Very bad organized event this year, the camera angles were terrible we couldn't see full judges & their reaction and also why in the INTRO MUSIC you've put audio from Creesto's battle against Soyuz at 0:08 , we can clearly hear the start of it & then the video starts, whoever had this idea is STUPID!
Man the battle bad video and audio previous years is waaaaay better. Only change they should have made is adding a camera from the judges perspective because a lot of times contestants best moves happen as they aim at the judges. They made it ten times worse this year smh. Its frustrating for fans fo dance to see these bad camera angles and bad audio ruin this art.
I don't understand these top 16. Where is junior yudat who participated and was in finals vs les twins on fusion concept, Kuty was there also. You wanna say that they didn't pass the prelims? 🤔 I don't want to offend nesty, nickel yudat, but if you call that top 16, well...
