True that. Last vid I posted was on a BC Rich st3 that played like butter. Decided to use this Jazz for tone but it could use a setup. Action being a little high along with this backing track being a couple bpm faster makes it a wee bit sloppy in some of those end runs..
Hey I remember watching this video the first time with those crazy shorts.. lol. It's def one of the best bass lines I've heard. Kinda like the original video better. Too bad youtube deleted it. Nonetheless...still very impressive brother!
At first I thought I'd found a much easier way to pay that damned chorus, but I'm not sure that this is right. After the GhA hammer-on, the notes are D D F F# but you seem to play D D F# G? Weird thing is it sounds kinda right.
Not sure where you got the idea this was picked. Even if you don't know anything about Nathan East (a renowned player, and the guy who created and tracked this bass line - google it), he was not exactly known for using a pick. All that aside though, literally nothing in the original track even sounds remotely like it was picked, so I'm at a loss as to how you could make such an embarrassing mistake. Unless, of course, you were thinking of that Blake Shelton version (which I just looked up and see in the first 10 seconds of the song that it is also not picked). Sorry to sound so triggered about this but that is a pretty grievous blunder. Criticize my playing anytime but get it right when you're talking to me about the original. ;) EDIT*** Here is Mr East playing this song at Live Aid. He Jazzed up his line but still not picking it: ruclips.net/video/mUgfn6rSk4I/видео.html
I'm a guitar player that has been drafted to play bass in a band. This song has been kicking my ass. Thank you thank you thank you!
This appears to be on the set list of our new band tonight. Thanks for the tips. Now I'm *dying* to see what the original video looked like!
Trust me, it's better left forgotten. ;)
Dude, I loved your version then, and still do now! I was wondering what happened to your video for a while. Great job!
I normally don't have major trouble with fast licks, I am going on two hours bringing this up to speed. Great job!
Hey man every time I come back to this video I enjoy the hell out of it. Thanks so much for posting!
You sir, have brought a very big smile to my face 😄 keep on rocking 'n rolling
So glad the original and best bass version is back on. Congrats dude!! Awesome.
I wondered why it was gone! Thank you so much!
Yes this is a great song and you do a great job of showing us how to do it thanks.
Bummer, I watched this for the shorts alone! :D Love your version of this, I'm going to get round to learning it soon :D
Great job! Don't be hard on yourselves... Even this guy is struggling to hit the licks... They are super fast . Great job bro

@jcsilverado
Thanks! Eventually they will get around to all of the other guys that used the original audio and yank them too, I suppose.

IKR?
Do you, or could you make tab for this? I would really love to learn this, but I'm finding it difficult to follow along to the video.
Play it at half speed.
I have notation & tab for this if you still need it :)

I'll just go ahead and say thanks for changing the pants. We don't know each other well enough for those shorts. Nice pickin'.
Rock on

make yet another video breaking the parts down. Like a lesson instead of a play along.:)
Unfortunately you got it wrong in the third bar of chorus.
WTG!!
you know, this bass line is supposed to be picked
the line is also wrong
