Absolutely love these dude learns videos! The differentiation between the bar and ring muscle ups were so so helpful..... Also Mia's patience with The Dude is the most impressive thing I've ever seen 😂
Started practicing and noticed when I start to fatigue my toes start getting higher than hips. Never would've caught that without this video. Next up is practicing the turnover from the box 🎉
43:20 The reason people do that is because on most movements other than ring dips you gain momentum by explosive extension of the hips. Think HSPU, cleans, thrusters, pushpress etc. Here you gain upward momentum by extending because you are pushing against the floor. A ring dip is "special" because you're attached at the hands (but not upside down). You're not pushing against the floor, you're kicking air.
@ctpcam I think we need to see you take Mia's lessons and apply them. Seeing Chris on the rings or bar would make these videos even more [fill in blank] :) Great tips, Mia!
one question from me. It”s about the ring strap. in my gym, there are only long strap ring( 2.5 metres for the lenght of strap) which is very difficult for me to get connect to next rep during a bit set ( set of 5-7 for me😅) do you have any specific technique for connect the multi rep in big set of long strap rmu?
Hello! On long straps, the concept of 'controlling the swing of the rings' is even more important (because they can swing a lot!). The biggest thing I focus on with long straps is dropping relatively straight down from the top into the next rep. Try to point your toes down vs keeping them in front of you in an "L" position. That should help keep the rings more steady. Also make sure that you are opening up fully into your arch position and not rushing that portion of the rep - the rings with steady while you are in the arch. Hope this helps!
Mia's patience. Bless her.
Your "stupid" questions are what makes this tutorial #1! Please more of this!
