there is a farmer out in extreme southern nebraska into kansas that probably isnt alive anymore but he built a articulating subframe this would have been 25 years ago now and it worked WONDERFULLY he droves it out in the hills and would drop down into cattle runs no issue
You can get one of those Reading truck box beds for about 11 grand installed. I’m looking for some toolboxes that are side mount came across this video and about had a heart attack when I heard the price. I have a toolbox that’s behind the cab, but I need access for my straps and other camping gear right there on the side for easy access.
Thinking of purchasing Dodge 5500 with 60”ca to haul my 10.4 Bigfoot camper. You make products that look like very nice and functional. Just wondering how high your beds and articulating beds sit above the truck frame. Thanks Russ
@@alanj7306 Personally I'm amazed that there are enough people out there with that kind of crazy money.....I think I would look at the vid, draw up some plans and get a local fabricator to make me a similar bed at a fraction of the price.
Awesome Bed. Needs Tie Downs - got to be more useful than just a camper carrier. Needs a locking cover over the fuel caps... Wonder how robust the locks are on the storage lockers???
@@the305hauler It is a 179" or 60"Cab to axel F550. So it seems the full size camper center of gravity would be behind the rear wheel. I suppose with the heavy front bumper, spare and some of their weigh in front it might offset things enough.
@@tallll70 Your lack of knowledge of the development of the automobile is typically American, you probably also believe that the Wright brothers were the first to fly a propellor driven aeroplane.......maybe you even believe that an American was the first to break the sound barrier??? or invent the wheel?
@@Pinzpilot101 I am just as clueless as you, you have no idea if they really copied anyting... don't worry about it too much, especially if your accusation is just as serious as my attempt for joke
@@tallll70 OK. lets start again.....yep I get your joke and I apologise for being defensive..of course Fords invention of the production line was a world beater.....But if you get a chance, have a look at how Mercedes fit the bed to the Unimog, it literally twists and turns like your arm can. I own a U1300L and it is amazing how the chassis and the bed can twist and turn.
Alot of “firsts” on this build, but we are not claiming to have invented pivoting subframes. In fact we even pointed out we bought the pivots from Globetrekker 👍🏻

Those tiny hinges bother me a lot. At the price points these beds are sold for all of the hinges should be full Piano style hinges running the full length of each compartment.
It is so awesome to have so many 4x4 product companies here in CO. I'm so glad all the local products I tried on my 4Runner is top notch..🏆
Dream truck and flatbed setup.

@HeavyDSparks should check this out for their work truck

FYI, Reading Bodies are NOT made for off-road. (Source: I work there). The bodies are not made for flexing and only handle rough job sites at best.

There can't be that many people out there that can afford and maintain these way overpriced capable behemoths
Word !
I’m so tired of these stupid things that cost more money than a house..

They're actually cheaper than the 2 other companies I contacted to build mine.
Best custom truck camper beds in the world. Thanks for taking me on as a customer Brent.
Quite expensive mod.
Glad to Steven Spielberg looking at buying an F550 during the video.
When are you guys going to do a video on the 2023 F150 Tremor 5.0?
That’s coming in about a month. Please stay tuned.
Mornings with Andrey.

Is that a 60" frame or "84? It looks cool!
Probably 120 inches or 10 feet 🤔

So they copied the Unimog system for the bed?
Yeah and Mercedes copied the automobile from Ford

What’s the gas mileage?
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it. Haha 😂. I hope you plan to live in there since it costs as much as a house.
Bro that’s a $260,000 truck fuel economy doesn’t matter at that point 😆
Didn't they build the bed for Nates tacoma?
We did! 👍🏻

40k I would just buy another truck....
I love these things, so excessive
Exposed fuel filler tubes, so amateurish.
Meh...
