I’m thinking that the reason these cars are doing better in reverse is because they are front wheel bias so more torque and also that there is more weight from the engine for traction.
Just to be fair to the Subaru, there was quite a bit more snow on the ground during its test. This really should have been done when there were more equal amounts of snow on the ground for both, or bare ground for both.
We can’t fight Mother Nature From our point of view, rav4 is better in reverse for this one! That’s only gonna be felt If you take place on the driver seat.
@@CarQuestion yes is better the Rav4 in this test, I believe, because is a FWD that send power to the rear, and weight distribution makes the Rav4 to have more contact with the front wheels. You can see rear wheel off the ground doesn't even spin crazy, is probably the normal setup of the system as there's no front wheel spin happening. No need of traction control or any special mode I guess on this test.
It's gasoline, which has multi terrain select(rock and dirt), hybrid has trail mode. If hybrid does half of this job, I will be satisfied. Previous generation was useless in that kind of tests.
Lol. This tests nothing wtf is he testing?. This system does very well offroad. The car did great under the conditions. There is snow. Hate these tests.
Lol go see in field test forester vs rav4. Its on youtube. Than comment again. Rav4 is the best all around machine out there right now. It does all the offroading one will ever need. Just need some good alltrack tires.

True. But I think weight is main factor here.
Good point
They are doing better because its a new 4x4 sistem
Nice video ! I cant wait to see the brand new Mazda 3 awd test !!!
Please try Hybrid with TRAIL mode.
All these fwd crossovers will do good in reverse
Where did you find diesel version of RAV4? ;) ;) ;)
It's better because the front wheels have more weight and touch the ground longer so they're less likely to slip.

Thanks for the nice demonstration. Looks like a 2019 Limited Hybrid. Correct? Makes me want a one even more!
i think this is the gasoline one because do not see a hybrid badge on the front fenders...

I would have liked to have seen this reverse test in the default "normal" mode instead of just rock and dirt, for comparison.
What did you prove or disprove? The car did great either way given the snow.
great: we probably don't have the same great scale here.
did OK maybe, great... nah
any other offroad test ?
Гле то работает компрессор...что за шум ?
Doesn’t look like it loses contact with the pavement on two wheels.
please test the awd hybrid version
This is a shame...it just proves that Toyota's AWD system is too front wheel drive biased

MJ what are you talking about, these are the best 4wd tests on RUclips and it really separates the really capable systems from the poser systems.
FWD bias makes this an easy test!
👍👌
More impressed with the forester. The forester got over with more snow. And was far superior going forward.
