Your dress is absolutely the cutest thing I have seen in a long time. You have a true talent when it comes to sewing and seeing something in a flat piece of fabric that can turn into a fabulous dress. Love your kitchen. Love your refrigerator.
You are right about the insert above the refrigerator making a difference. What a charming and sunny look The dress you made from a tablecloth is so creative and cute. How thoughtful of you to include sewing something for or with your nieces. Your videos are always refreshing and I look forward to each new one.
The dress is super cute. You are no way a beginner in sewing when you created a beautiful dress like you did. My Mom made all of my sisters and I clothes when we were growing up, she would be impressed with this dress. Also the wood piece over the refrigerator is stunning. Such a great addition.
Good morning Andrea! Your tablecloth dress turned out beautiful😍🤩 As a hand embroiderer with more than 60 years experience it just makes me so happy to see new young homemakers such as yourself turn our much loved but not longer popular hand done items into fresh new garments. Also loved the embroidered buttonholes you added to your dress. Tablecloths like that take hours and hours of skilled work to produce and it saddens me greatly to see them tossed aside.
I have a full sewing setup in my basement and I hate it down there so much that I just don't sew anymore. Your sewing room makes me think maybe I should move my machine upstairs!!! Love your channel - found you from your sister :)
When working with corduroy, remember there is what is called a ‘nap’ direction. This means all of your pattern pieces must be going in the same direction. I am sure you can find a video that shows how to do this. Good luck.
New subscriber here, coming from Lisa and Laura's channel, the dress is adorable and you are very talented. Nice to see such creativity in today's young ones, keep up the great work!
Hi there! New friend here from Portugal, Europe! 🙋🏼♀️ Just found your channel and fell in love with your videos! ❤ Can't wait to see more from you!👍😍 Have a blessed day!
Love the gap piece! It makes a huge difference in the look! The fabrics are beautiful. You got great selections. Your talent for sewing is incredible. I love to watch the process and dream about doing it. ❤
Used to make my girls pinafores with remnants of eyelet that I found on sale. Such cute summer outfits with or without a dress or shirt underneath! Have fun!!!
My mother taught me the basics of sewing, but it was not until I began to work at it the way you are, one skill at a time, that I became an accomplished seamstress. That dress is SO cute!
Your vlogs are a joy to watch!😭🥰 and that dress😲😲😲I can't even!!! I enjoy sewing but mostly make clothes for my 2 and 4 year old but you make me think that maybe I should try sewing something for myself too. Also I love how there's so many different varieties of sewing styles out there and yet so much to learn from each other (similar to cooking). I definitely have my own way of sewing but I get so inspired by other sewists, too😊.
You’re so talented and refreshing in your colorful yet crisp style. I love your sisters but I’m out here cooking for 3 in my midcentury modern! Thanks for the relatable content 🙂
@@Oursweetsunnydays Yes! Now to figure out how to use the seven tea towels for the seven days of the chore week my great aunt made. Been holding onto them for decades!
Loved the whole video! Your dress turned out so well and way to go on the pattern placement in cutting it out. I also really love the buttonhole design you did. Excellent tools really make certain jobs so much more enjoyable! I've had issues with necklines gapping and you can sometimes avoid them if you baste the top together with pins and pull the front piece up at the shoulder seam to make a new seam line. I've also pinched out a small wedge at the neckline on the paper pattern. Kinda tricky to explain without showing! I hate to leave a comment zeroing in on one tiny "issue" and leaving unsolicited advice when it really is such a lovely dress. Just hope it's helpful!
I have basically thrown out all jeans, only wear leggings for pjs, and just wear dresses and skirts. Cotton or linen is SOOO EXPENSIVE!!! I seriously want to start sewing my own and for our daughter. This dress is sooo cute, you did a great job and so encouraging to watch. I miss sewing.
That is the cutest dress ever!!!! I love the addition of the piece of decorative wood above your fabulous fridge. Sewing, any type of needlework is the best!!!!
Winter is hard for me - I do try to savor the good parts and keep cozy but YES to that feeling of spring finally being here... it is always such a relief when the trees come back green and you know you've made it through. Love the dress!
Loved that dress. Ive seen many table cloths that were beautiful for dresses. So enjoyed this video. Im at beauty shop with my friend telling about your sewing project.
I love the dresses you made for yourself! My mom would sew ric rac on some of our dresses she made us! I haven't thought of ric rac until you mentioned it! Enjoy your sewing!
The dress came out perfect! I love the little piece above your fridge! The perfect touch! I made egg salad this weekend after watching your video from last week! So glad I did!
I love this video so much! I’m 33 and I dream and pray about being a mama one day! I enjoy watching all of your videos, I hope to start sewing one day as well. It’s so interesting watching you put together a dress. God has blessed you and your family, thank you for making these videos.
What you made with the tablecloth is what is called a mock up. It’s of like a first draft and practice run. It is done to test the pattern and to make sure of any changes or adjustments before making it with either the real piece or more expensive fabric. I’ve made a few in less expensive cloth to test whether I like a pattern on me.
That dress was absolutely beautiful!! Now I am inspired with all of those vintage tablecloths I have tucked in drawers. And by the way, I came over from your sisters channel… All of you girls are just a joy watch. 🥰
Love the dress, very boho with a little 60’s thrown in. I’m thinking you could sew professionally, you are able to take an idea and see it through to fruition, not everyone can do that. Can’t wait to see the next project
Your button holes!!!! so much better than mine! I avoid buttons and put zips in instead but with your embroidery machine, you are going to create wonderful things with your new skills and your existing skills. Thank so much for sharing your journey. I am loving your channel for South Australia
I have a machine, I was starting to learn, but can't remember how the blasted bobbin sets in. So hands on training is out the window until I get a friend over that sews to walk me through the basics again. It's been like 7 - 10 yrs since I got it and had the class. Plus I have memory problems that don't help at all. I look forward to watching more.😊❤

Aww I'm glad you like it! I know there are mixed opinions on cutting them up, but I love repurposing them & showing off the details!
That dresss!!! You are way beyond a beginner!! The way you were able to cut all those pieces to be symmetrical is AMAZING !!!! So cute!

I have heard of that, but don't know exactly how to do it! going to have to look it up!
