The curtains behind the bed look great 👍😊but I really don't get the hundreds-of-pillows-on-the-bed look!!! They are just such a nuisance, especially at bedtime. I don't think they add anything to the look of the bedroom either 🤔 😕

When I was younger, my grandfather (a painter) told my grandmother he was going to paint the kitchen while she was away for a few days. He painted the cabinets red and the walls and ceiling that same chartreuse green. When he told her, she was soooooo upset! 😅 But when she saw it, she wasn't sure she hated it, and after all the complements started rolling in, she was very proud of it. This was in the 1960's. I have always said I would re-create that kitchen if i ever found the right house. ❤

We had the same ideas, the only thing was I never liked sewing, but everything else was the same. My parents instilled in me to budget everything and save. The new pillow shams are lovely. You make it look easy. I find that when I "rush" to decorate/redecorate a room, I end up compromising on my vision. My youngest, who was standing right there, was lamenting how the inside of our house looks. We moved here last fall and the move and this state cost way more than we thought, plus unexpected expense after unexpected expense has us really struggling. Couple that with the fact that freight is at the lowest my husband has ever seen it (OTR trucker) and...well...getting furniture and curtains just isn't a priority right now. I had simply mentioned that if we are still stuck here in two years that we want to make it a little nicer. His response/suggestion to it REEKS of entitlement if you ask me... Nice curtains, lamps, more bookshelves, dressers, a china cabinet, pretty things to make it homey, etc. Until then, especially since we are renting while looking for a place to buy, we are simply making do. I don't understand why this is such a difficult concept for some people to grasp, but ehh. Nothing I can really do about it. Edit: If anyone read all this, I appreciate it. This video just put me in the best mood. I absolutely love your simple, natural style to home decor and making a home in general. The taco "formula" was an awesome idea. Can't wait to try the roast version. I never would have thought of that. Also, the music you chose is so relaxing. I just found you and subscribed and can't wait to go back and watch your older videos.
Enjoy this season in your life. It flies by and you turn around and find yourself with growing grandchildren and retirement. That all fun, but I am glad you are taking the slow road and savoring the journey.
Love your chartreuse kitchen color partnered with the vintage appliances! It's so refreshing to see from watching video after video with "neutral" tones. I have a small U-shaped kitchen with no window; keeping it looking cozy is paramount. I'm learning I prefer stripes to checks and am seeing this subconscious decision all around my home.
The bedroom looks so comfy & cozy😊 The Flowers/garden looks beautiful, love all the arrangements too! Add just a small pinch of sugar to your water, the flowers will last just a little longer! Always enjoy you videos😊
You need more curtain panels. Also looks best if you are able to leave the curtains open and if you want shade get like a pull down shade or something. I would also get cord covers for the sconces so they look neater. You can paint them. Too many pillows on the bed. Aren’t the buttons on pillow cases typically the back side as well? It looks like they are backwards on your bed.
Beautiful serene bedroom. I watch you from the Himalayas. I live in a village. Thanks to modern technology, I am able to watch you and your sisters. I love you three.
Interesting. In Australia we call them "Tailored Pillow Cases" but they are often actually labelled "Tailored Pillow Shams"... or many call them "you know... the ones with the extra edge around them"😂
All you girls (Sisters and kids) have such a strong genetic visual look, its incredible just how alike you all look, you are a imagine of Lisa's Daughters.
Eat pot roast and watch football 😂 LOL! But in all seriousness, I have such strong and fond memories of the cool fall breeze coming in the windows, the smell of a roast in the oven, and the sound of football on the TV. Pot roast and football forever! 🩵🏈
Honest question… My mom was a lifelong homemaker who made all of my cloths including my wedding dress. And I must say that I loved it and was always in with the current styles. Back in my day and where we lived - someone talented with a sewing machine was called a seamstress. Is that an old term from that generation and the younger generation uses sewist? Or is it a regional thing and depends on where you live?? Either way I am so impressed at how much skill you have gained in such a short time. You are very talented! I love your channel and your siblings channels! You all seem to make this “simpler” and beautiful way of life so appealing to those of us living the rat race!! ❤🙌🏻
I found your channel today. Lovely Chanel. Need to know are you sister to Lisa at Simple Farmhouse life? Sound alike and know she has sisters. Blessings❤
I just came across your channel. Almost instantly I thought you sound so much like Lisa from Farmhouse on Boone….. kept watching & now I’m pretty sure you are her little sis 😂
I also do not like home decor. You need to continually dust them if you're asthmatic, like I am. And don't get me started about seasonal decor! Who has the space to store all that stuff?
Love your kitchen. I"m also loving your updated bedroom. Where do you get your meat? We have looked into many local and ordering services but havent' found anything affordable for five. Kind of feeling stuck with Aldi organic right now.
Hey there! So excited for another video. I want a Birch mattress. It's on the top of my list this fall or winter! I am IN LUV with your new range. Avocado Green is my favorite color and especially appliance colors. I wish they would bring back the harvest gold as well for modern appliances but for some reason that stainless seems to be the forever color favorite. I have that in my kitchen because I have no other choice and since they are all paid for I am stuck for the time being. I liked the creamy bisque color but it's really hard to find now. It's so cozy. Anyway, I will just enjoy your fridge and range for the time being. Thanks for another soothing, relaxing video. Needed it!!! xo Your friend Nancy from OHIO
I love your sconces! I've been looking for the perfect ones for months. Can you share where you bought them? It's fun to time travel and see what feeling like a mom of one was like. Mine are 10 years past baby stage now, makes me mourn that season a bit.

TLDR- bit of a rant and agreeing that a little at a time is the way to go
I was actually just talking about this with my 70-year-old neighbor. He doesn't like seeing our rakes, bikes, empty pots, etc stacked up and propped up against the back of our house. He keeps telling me to throw it away or get storage solutions. I have tried numerous times to politely explain to him that if we had a garage or the money for a shed, he wouldn't see it...plus we use it all so no, I will not throw it away. (The audacity!!) We moved here last fall and the move and this state cost way more than we thought, plus unexpected expense after unexpected expense has us really struggling. We had no idea it was going to be so difficult to find decent secondhand furniture (we have no desire to buy brand new). Couple that with the fact that freight is at the lowest my husband has ever seen it (OTR trucker) and...well...getting furniture and curtains just isn't a priority right now. Bills and food comes first. This neighbor is trying to insist that we go get something cheap and ugly just to have SOMETHING. Sir, been there and done that. No more.
First timer!! Oh how I love your way of thinking! Simplicity is the best way to live. I look forward to watching more from you!❤
So lovely! Thank you 💖
Gingham and paisley are my favourite patterns. Love your blue pillows 💙🩵🤍
Thank you! I love gingham too!
Watching your channel is a mental sorbet ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ such talent!
Beautiful serene bedroom. I watch you from the Himalayas. I live in a village. Thanks to modern technology, I am able to watch you and your sisters. I love you three.
Love that!!
You are so talented! I love all your videos! ❤
Love the ginham pillow covers. In the UK we call the pillow covers with the stitched edging Oxford pillow covers.
Ooo good to know!
Interesting. In Australia we call them "Tailored Pillow Cases" but they are often actually labelled "Tailored Pillow Shams"... or many call them "you know... the ones with the extra edge around them"😂
All you girls (Sisters and kids) have such a strong genetic visual look, its incredible just how alike you all look, you are a imagine of Lisa's Daughters.
haha we get that a lot!
@@OursweetsunnydaysI'm not at all surprised.
I have those curtain rods and love them 🌼🌼
Where did you get that rotating try for the bottom of your refrigerator? I love it.
It's part of her fridge. Her fridge has so many amazing features
New subscriber. I really enjoyed your video. I am impressed with everything you are so capable of doing in your home
Cute pillows!
Omg, this should be my mantra. I'm a home decor junkie.
How pretty!
Eat pot roast and watch football 😂 LOL! But in all seriousness, I have such strong and fond memories of the cool fall breeze coming in the windows, the smell of a roast in the oven, and the sound of football on the TV. Pot roast and football forever! 🩵🏈
haha yep! it's a fun time!! :)
I too slowly collect the things I.want to decorate with. I want unique things and pictures from experiences. I want to save for a really good camera
I hadn't thought about using a roast for tacos. I will try it thanks.
I love your gingham shams! I’ve made some like that before.
Great video as always ❤❤❤
Thank you!!
What a lovely video! Really like youre skirt ❤
Kedves Alexandra !
Ma ismét gazdagabbak lettünk a bemutatott szépségekkel.Köszönjük.Szeretettel Magyarországról❤😊
I adored being a stay at home mom. Looking forward to retirement now
I found your channel today.
Sure am!
What are those clips you use to hold your material together while sewing?
I also do not like home decor. You need to continually dust them if you're asthmatic, like I am. And don't get me started about seasonal decor! Who has the space to store all that stuff?
Love your kitchen. I"m also loving your updated bedroom. Where do you get your meat? We have looked into many local and ordering services but havent' found anything affordable for five. Kind of feeling stuck with Aldi organic right now.
I think she might get it from one of her sisters' farm
Where is the lamp from? Looks just like what I need!
Found them on eBay!
love this video Andrea. Would you mind giving me the dimensions for your sham please?? Thanks so much. Kathleen
I don't remember them 🤪 but it should just be the width/length of your pillow + 2 inches for the border + seam allowance! :)
@@Oursweetsunnydays thanks for your help
Hi Andrea, I love your home and what you do with it. Want to come and decorate mine in Australia? 😂😂😂 love your channel as always
haha thank you!!
💙
Do you have a website yet? Looking for some recipes or links to recipes??
Not yet! An easier way to share links is in the works :)

Great!! Can’t wait ♥️
Cute blue lamps and shams. why not blue curtains instead of heavy green ?
Already had these in a bin downstairs 😆 that's the only reason haha!
@@Oursweetsunnydays dye them?
Did you plant the zinnias from seed or from plants.
Thank you!! We looove our birch mattress and vintage appliances hah!
blocking a window with a bed a bad idea
Hi Sharon, I’m just wondering Why? Our bed room is so small it seems we have no choice but to have a corner of the window blocked by the bed🥺
Your sister gave your channel a shout out so I am enjoying watching your videos too. I've subscribed 👍🔔 Anne, Australia 🦘
Thanks for subbing!
I love your sconces! I've been looking for the perfect ones for months. Can you share where you bought them? It's fun to time travel and see what feeling like a mom of one was like. Mine are 10 years past baby stage now, makes me mourn that season a bit.
I found them on Pinterest! I believe they were from eBay technically!
@@Oursweetsunnydays thank you, off to search them!
Love the colors in your bedroom! Can you please share the paint color thats on your bedroom walls and where you purchased your curtains!? Thank you :))
I believe it is softly white by sherwin williams!
@@Oursweetsunnydays thank you!! Do you mind sharing where you got your curtains from? Ive been looking for some green curtains for some time and yours are such a pretty color!
@@haleychildress5755they are from Amazon!
I love your skirt, d8d you make it yourself?
You should make your own tortillas there so much better
