i noticed doug torqued the bolts down in sequence, and then loosened them back up and re-tourqed them for that extra 1/4 turn, normally this isnt something id notice, but you guys did an in depth of the YXZ motor build and i learned why that was important. always going to be one of my fav channels.

I know you guys have heard of time-sert thread repair kits. They make long inserts for spark plug repairs. Wouldn't think you'd need the whole length threaded if your putting a steel insert in. Forget those helicoil springs get s time-sert kit. If its good enough for the military its good enough for us!

Never change spark plugs on a hot or warm engine. The aluminum head and steel spark plug expand at different rates when heated causing the thread pitches to not match. That and always use anti-seize on spark plugs, especially in a aluminum head.

I heard to crack the plug loose and if it doesn't come out, spray oil or wd40 down the spark plug hole. Let it sit and then twist it back n forth to lube the threads.
I’ve taken a torch to cut the spark plug out as long as you’re careful the steel heats up faster than the cast and it cuts right out the chase the threads then you’re good to go

when metal gets heated it tempers it. There for making the metal harder BUT more brittle. Maybe to much timing or to hot of a plug? When you run it take a plug check. But that’s my guess.
I think it's from pond skipping 30 times, and then not having the plug in. Moisture magnet.

Check out Wurth timeserts - they offer longer inserts which are of more use in these applications than standard helicoils.
They have a thread cert that is one solid piece to replace the spark plug threads
