That's a good question. Sometimes these things fight with you a little bit. I would suggest typing in "UCS" and then "World." I think that should align things properly.
Object Snap Tracking is a weird thing to get the hang of - usually the problem is that you're shaking the mouse. You probably don't even realize it. Be fairly deliberate when you chose your points and also do it quickly or CAD will 'forget' what point you picked.
Thanks heaps, but you are in the TOP view, not the front view. I couldn't get a line in the front view. I just looked at your view cube up in the top right corner and put my view like yours. You are a very good teacher!!
I'm having problems when I try to use the end points for the green line guide (Object Snap Tracking?) I'm not sure, instead of putting my start point for my new line 2" or w/e I specify, it puts it in some random corner far from where I'm drawing. Thanks for your help, I've got a new job that requires AutoCAD and your videos are saving me!
Great 3D instructional videos. Thanks. I have a question about the ucs tool in your videos. Whether I am using the single drawing board or trying to work in the double viewport screen, when I am trying to draw in the front view it will only allow me to draw horizontal lines and my ucs is positioned in the x,z position. How do you have your ucs positioned in the x,y position in the front view?
Things like that can happen for a lot of reasons. My first guess is that your are too zoomed in. Try zooming out pretty far. Also, try typing in "regen." That can help as well. Finally, check what units you are working in. If you are using decimal, but typing in imperial, for example, the line command won't work.
Hi brooke thank u so much for sharing your knowledge. I have a question, hope you can still see this and reply. When Ever im using object snap tracking, hovering my mouse down with out clicking and anter the desired inches, it doesnt work like yours here on this video. The starting point of the line starts in random areas, pls help me brooke. I admire your tutorials. And I cant add you up on linkedIn 😜 dont know why

Oh man, that is super frustrating. It's so hard to know why it isn't working...is it on a different elevation? Have you tried PEDIT?

I'm not able to access the website.
Why is it that when I go to join my 3 point curves that it won't select them to be one poly-line!? So frustrated.
The green dotted lines appears when I hover my mouse horizontal, but doesnt appear on vertical.
Thanks for your teaching video!
