I commented when you got this one. I own the same, and while I like it, I don't love it. Haven't traded or sold it yet, but getting there. I don't know why, but I can't bond with mine. It's a gorgeous piece, and really fits my 7.375" wrist well. I dunno. By the way - be careful of the bracelet. The pins can work loose on their own.

I am hesitating on buying this cartier or the breitling chronomat 40. U think both have the same bezelscratch resistance?
Scratching the high polish bezel to me really isn’t that big a deal. It’s not nearly as bad as people think, as long as you’re careful and don’t banging around too much it’s not that bad.
Thoughts on the Santos Dumont as an alternative?
I was looking at the Dumont for a while. Great watch, especially on the secondary market. But the size is what stopped me. That was it, other than that, I would’ve pulled the trigger
Can you get a Rubber Strap, if you really want to dial down? I live in a hot climate and leather in the day means I am buying a new strap every 12 to 18 months and steel just gets dirty when your wrist sweats. just a question.

what made you choose this model over the green and the white?
Every Cartier santos is a white. I have the white also, but for my wedding I wanted something different. The green is not my style.
It seems harder to read indoor than a white dial. Yes, it's great you can read in the dark but indoor and outdoor during daylight is when I read the time. Usually when it's dark, I am already in bed (maybe I'm just old).

I love cartier,but i think the new santos is too expensive,when a buy a santos galbee automatic in steel some years ago it cost me 260p€
My santos cost me years ago 2600$ now it cost 7600...just more big,i dont feel they give me for the price
that bezel is a deal breaker. So prone to scratches that it cheapens the watch tremendously.

Bro, it’s a nice little watch, but you cant compare it to an icon like the sub, the sub will always be an icon and this watch. Well it’s nice.
How is the Cartier Santos not an icon?
And I guess just a follow up even further, nobody has ever once ever in over 12 years of owning a submariner told me it was a “nice watch” or even mentioned it at all.

The first Rolex Submariner, manufactured in 1953 and introduced to the public in 1954, bears two different references: 6204 and 6205
and the Santos was created 1970 that’s a big difference it’s just a kid in comparison to the icon rolex
You can have your preference, but you cannot change what is
