Loved this! Memory lane for me. I had a '72 911E in this color-just like this except mine was a Targa. This definitely hurts to know I ever let it go. I live in NC and took it to CA and back- a trip I'll never forget.
My god I wish I loved driving as much as you do. The older I get, the more fearful I get. The eyes and ears aren’t as sharp as they used to be. Plus, I am not driving a Porsche lol
Sitting here, ordering new SSI heat exchangers, was having a cup of coffee and looking for an air cooled video to play in the background... was going to throw on a few autokennel videos and saw you posted a new one. 20 degrees and snow/salt here still on the back roads and made my day getting to live vicariously for 15 minutes through your video...nicely done, good to see you posting another. Always enjoy the content, Erik.
If that car came from the Bay Area, I know one of its former custodians and was an RGruppe car. I was disappointed when he sold it for another car. Love that color.
That motor is to die for! So crisp, so engaging all in a 72 with that olive green! It’s mad! Thanks very much Michael, enjoyed it thoroughly, almost felt like I was along side you on the big screen 😁 More of these please 🙏🏻
That is one absolutely beautiful car. And what a road! Love it that your weather over there is so reliable that you've taken the wipers off 🙂. Back here in the UK I have the hard top my 2004 C4S (obviously not in the same league as your stunning machine but I still love it) and looking forward to when the sun comes out again.....
Car sounds great and makes me miss driving my 73 911 that I’m currently overhauling in my garage. What’s the motor out of? Was it a 3.0 bumped up to a 3.2 short stroke?
Great car and great video. Out of curiosity, how difficult are these 70s Porsche? Always feared that they would be tricky to drive. Your driving is very smooth though, well done sir.
I'm not really sure, to be honest. I'd say this is way more difficult to drive than an e30, or e36 for example. Significantly more difficult to drive quickly compared to the 997 I used to have.
What no wipers? A stunningly beautiful car, the gauges in these early 911s are held in with a rubber grommet you can pull the gauge out easily then turn your red line on the tacho to the top and push it back in.
i already gave you a like after the first 20 seconds because you started with "i got a mic back at the exhaust, this is what it sounds like" ... thank you ♥
Cool Michael! Nice run, pictureques scenery, really nice sound quality in all stages! Love the Drone shots, and with the sound! Nice to see you back too.😊👍
My mom hasn't raised an envidious man. It's not envy what I'm feeling, it's something else, something good. It's good just because I haven't won the brazilian lottery yet, so I can't give you a sh!tlo@d of money and take her from you! As an Army man, I even love the color!😂 Congrats, man!👏👏👏
Lovely being virtually aboard with you ! Great car, wonderful sound. I noticed you practically never changed gear while driving. Were you in 3rd or 4th gear ? With our high revving 911ses of today, even the 3.0 twin-turbo engines (let alone the GT3s), it seems I would have been in 4th and 5th gears (PDK in manual mode) on those same curves and stretches. Great bit of road trip, thanks ! 👌😎
Love the color and sound. Those mountains look familiar, what toad is that? I’m in SLO County but that looks north of LA maybe? I love my 3.2 in my 84’ but in that car is must be a real joy! Gorgeous car man!!
@michaelgideon6422 i have a 75 Carrera. I noticed you have the dash crack between the passenger defrost vent and the speaker. Not sure any original dash is free of this crack. What are the specs on your 3.2?
Love your car ❤
What a nice and beautiful colored Porsche, sounds amazing. Congrats! Thanks for the upload!
Thanks for watching!

No kidding, that's a great combo. Black interior? I know a guy with the same car you had
When the Carr is running right on a sunny day, thanks for sharing !
happy to, thank you for the comment

Nice choice on the SSI's, you won't be disappointed. Glad to hear you enjoyed. I bet early spring is like Christmas for you guys
Perfect roads for such a lovely car.
If that car came from the Bay Area, I know one of its former custodians and was an RGruppe car. I was disappointed when he sold it for another car. Love that color.
I don't think it's the same car. I've heard of the car you're referring to. If I remember right, the guy who owned it would track it occasionally
That motor is to die for!

It’s mad! Thanks very much Michael, enjoyed it thoroughly, almost felt like I was along side you on the big screen 😁

It's a really fun engine. Thanks Jimmy! Appreciate the comment, I'll definitely do more videos like this
Beautiful string of bends - love the flow of that road. Color and sound of that machine are amazing. Cool ride along.
Thanks James!
Congrats on the car and the hilarious Instagram page. Some day I’ll have a 911
Thank you! I'm sure you'll get a great one
Snowed in NC mountains. Nice to see clear roads and a fun drive. Thanks.

Appreciate you watching and taking time to comment
You forgot to mention it also has SC/Carrera fender flares, which allow for the 7/8" wheels. Looks great.
Thank you! Yea, I left all kinds of things out. RS flares!
Gorgeous car gorgeous scenery and some spirited driving! I love these old air cooled Porsches
Thanks for watching!
Don't know how I came across this video, But I definitely liked it. Good driving!

I LOVE Olive. Such an underrated color
People hate it or love it haha
Amazing scenery 😊

Thank you!
Super cool!
Thanks for the ride along, fella.
My pleasure, thank you

What color is your 73? Yep, this was a 3.0 punched out to 3.2
Yes! New video! It’s like christmas every time you post something! 🎉😊
Has a pre 76 911 ever had an original dash without the crack from the passengers defroster vent and the speaker?
Ah well thank you!

Love me some Olive.Happy to see another video 👌🏻
Thanks for the comment man. You've been around here for a long time and I appreciate ya
Magnificent Machine
Hey Mike, love Olive, I think she's one of my favorite air cooleds and the sound is amazing!
Steve! Whats new man. Appreciate the love
@@michaelgideon6422 Currently working on buying a 993!
I go back and forth wondering if I wish I could hear the induction more or if I love the exhaust. Both great. Very nicely done.
Thanks dude. I wonder if a mic would even pic up your engine note at high rpms. Might be too damn much for a mic haha
what a car!!!!
That is a nasty little car. Wicked cool. Can’t wait for summer here in CO to delete my wipers. 🤙🏻

Enjoyed that.
Glad to hear it

Thanks for the comment. Mostly in third on this road.
Air cool life 😎
Hey man! Hope you're well. I always appreciate your comments
Sounds great for a short blast, maybe not for a trip though. Lovely car though.
I've done it, not bad at all..for me
Love the color and sound. Those mountains look familiar, what toad is that? I’m in SLO County but that looks north of LA maybe? I love my 3.2 in my 84’ but in that car is must be a real joy! Gorgeous car man!!
back way to Ojai?
Awesome video and Porsche! Was the driver pov shot just a gopro clipped to a hat?
Thanks! Yea, just a GoPro on the noggin
Is that Tach the correct one? Looks different than the rest of the gauges
No, it's a tach for a three liter. Can't run the standard tach with this engine
Great Video, what part of California are you in.
Thanks, Southern Ca
Very nice. Beautiful color, what is it?
thank you, it's called Olive
Don’t think I’ve ever seen those steering wheels in a 73 RS before
It's the same dimensions of a 73 RS wheel. The RSR had a thicker grip
Just got mine off non-op, was asleep since covid.
Time to drive, hopefully
What camera settings are you using?
I filmed this so quick, I'm not even sure
OMG, your Porsche is gorgeous. So pure and simple. I love the olive color. Almost as beautiful as you. Yes! I'll marry you. ♥
Wonder if anyone can help identify the exact Porsche colour (ref: number) of this car please as I’m looking to paint a 70’s 911S in this colour.
I'll have to double check, but I believe the code is 414
Are the rear flares added?
Yea, the car had RS flares put in sometime in the early 80's
@michaelgideon6422 i have a 75 Carrera. I noticed you have the dash crack between the passenger defrost vent and the speaker. Not sure any original dash is free of this crack. What are the specs on your 3.2?
Hey Michael, I can't PM you on the Pelican forums for some reason. I'd like to discuss your white 88'.
I messaged you on IG also
Suh dude my mk1 would smoke this thing
haha Enjoy your mk1, Pal
